it depends on the brand or what exactly you're eating. Just like any candy or regular food that would have Red 40 dye in them and that's made of insects.

Gelatin, which is in a LOT of products, is usually made from meat byproducts - namely, the bones of various animals whose meat has been harvested.

There is plant gelatin, but it's a lot more expensive so it's not used very often.
