I don't know... I got in trouble for how and what I said all the time growing up... I tend to speak "different from the norm" in real life, I only recently learned proper tone usage in the last 5-10 years, and I still mess up social interaction from time to time... for all I know I could offend everyone and nobody is telling me

Well... I will evaluate myself from time to time, so if I conclude that I am rude or outspoken, I will change. and If I find no problem, I will just regard them as people's sensitivity or culture difference.
Many people always tell me that I sound fierce when I say things... O__O

Haha... that's probably just from an overly emphasising tone that's all... I do that a lot, increasing my tone at certain points to emphasise my words. Do you?
Hard to be a cultural difference when they were the ones who raised you though

I always emphasize my points. 8D
and even if I speak with a neutral face, with calm flat tone, some people still say I sound fierce. Hey men! I am NOT shouting!.
hmm... well, there will still be culture difference as parents are more 'soft/gentle' and I am influenced a lot by Japanese anime. Which always scream and squeal...
NO, I do not scream and squeal, but a bit more high pitch than my parents.

Haha... I watched a ton of anime and it didn't influence me at all...
I'm sort of a social mimic... because I don't know how I'm supposed to act socially I copy the social style of the person I'm talking to. The only imprint from that is their word choices. If I talk to them for too long I'll develop a native accent too it's really weird. Plus it's strangely not temporary... I startled a Japanese exchange student once o.o she was like "WOAH You have no accent!" o.o
But because of that adapting thing... this book series I read a while back (Wheels of Time, not really that good of a series in my opinion) I absorbed some words from it that I still use o.o

What kind of accent the Japanese exchange student is talking about that you don't have?
Maybe it just so happen that I mimic the anime characters in a lot of ways. Human tends to follow certain influence if they are looking at it long enough. Depending on people, some absorb more, some less. Apparently, I like anime too much.
Hey! About Japanese. The Kanji Club was revived half a day ago, by Ikuku. You didn't notice? It is in the Nation, this same subforum.

Well I took a Japanese class... and for some reason I didn't develop an American accent. o.o I spoke it in a Japanese accent.
Funny thing is... those 2 accents can't mix... XD it's so bad when I try to say something in Japanese in an English sentence... I butcher it like an American... but I do the same in Japanese with English.
I don't typically leave the safety of my subs unless I'm invited o.o

Go on~ Ikuku started the thread, he is a stalker, what could be worst? 8D
I manage to speak Japanese with the correct accent. The few times I encounter real Japanese, they were shock and surprise when they hear I speak Japanese and ask me back whether I am a Japanese.
I went to Hong Kong and speak Cantonese, the locals didn't expect me to come from somewhere else.

Hehe, shocking people with good language skills is fun. Not sure I understand that last sentence though.

As in, I sound natural in their local context. I nail their accent of Hong Kong, thanks to hong kong drama I was exposed to since small.
BUT, I do have accent with my English. My friends said that I sound like US, maybe I watch more US movies/shows... trying to learn up UK accent. Unluckily, there is no shows/series that is made by UK that interests me.
Ikuku's avatar is male, I think, at least the nakie style ones, I refer to that.
So, even Iroro is a he in Menewsha.

ASL would be fun to know... I only know the basics... (also known as paper/pencil and lots of pointing)
When I worked in retail I had a notepad with me at all cost so that there wouldn't be a language gap for them.
Watch shows with that cranky doctor guy in them (house?) he did a lot of British Comedy I do believe.
