Okay Ayx. Do as you wish. |
@Magi: Nope, it really doesn't. Also a helpful tip is not to encompass the whole of Britain as "England" that pisses off the Welsh, the Northern Irish and the Scots to no end. That was like with the London Riots, the first three days it was called the "British" riots when it was only England that was effected. So many people complained that they had to change it. xD
@Poet: The English and Scots have never got on. Best example I can think of is the Jacobite rising where Bonnie Prince Charlie led the Scots into battle against the English. |
I am sure my input is irrelevant, so hello everybody. I brought some colored text.
|
Welcome back Kayxx ^^

No problem. C: *is one of the Scottish people that hate getting classed as English*

@ Ayx - just fyi reporting useless stuff like this only burdens the staff more... so please think of the staff... you could easily solve this by letting it go. Both of you. Only one who needs to let go now is you ayx

@ Ima - edited to fix that sorry

Hullo Imagination. I saw something about Jacobites but I don't really care about that, except it produces a mental tension stemming from the whole No-One-ever-bothered-to-explain-the-whole-jacobite-thing-to-me-in-more-than-a-cursory-way thing. Hullo everyone~

Jacobite, Jacobin. I'm sure it was important to someone once, although like I said, it produces a tension stemming from incomplete knowledge so I don't think about it much. Also, all my colored text links to something.

Doesn't seem like that funny of a comic to me >.>

Every school history class in Scotland studies the Jacobites (and it was my favourite topic) so I'll explain. Feel free to ignore the rest of this post if you're not too bothered. xD
Jacobites were supporters of King James II and his descendants claim to the throne. There were a series of wars, rebellions and uprisings from the 1680s to the 1740s or there about. These uprisings were led by Bonnie Prince Charlie. They only ended in the 1700s because the English army (redcoats) defeated them in the Battle Of Culloden (which is actually close to my house) and it ended any hope of the Stuarts returning to the throne. Gaelic was then banned in Scotland as was tartan. C: |
Yay history lesson!! lol
|
I'm somewhat of a nerd when it comes to certain subjects in history. Jacobites...WWII...Titanic...
|
Oh I see now. *Is glad to finally have things explained*
Lots of people don't find Pictures for Sad Children funny, Imagination. It's humor is kind of odd. Also, it's easy to forget about the alt text. That explosm comic was funny though. |
Haha I was thinking the same thing though I dont remember much of anything about the Gaelic or Tartan >.<
I love Cyanide & Happiness :boogie: |
Oh say... I should probably go catch up on xkcd, or Comic Jk... I'm really far behind on Comic Jk...
|
Cyanide and Happiness is banned at the library. Didn't get to read it.
I'm gonna go for now library is closing :( @ Cass - I'm kinda like a former history nerd. more into computers but I was a total history nerd in school. |
