How are you? :)

It's a wonder why the store is still there. I remember Pleasant Hill had a Kroger store but it failed in a short amount of time.

Hi Ravensdance [wave]
How are you?

Wow that's a really high turnover o.o How do they manage to keep anyone? [XP] They are really lucky to have you for so long!

I hear you there. I work at a movie theater and the turn around is like a revolving door.

Some of the people got promoted. transferred to other stores.
In the community I live in, there are a lot of stay at home/soccer moms
that either don't need to work or don't want to work that hard. We also
hire quite a few students that just move on.
It takes me like less than 5 minutes to get to work, I'm full time and always
get the earliest morning shift. {which is what I want}
I have no reason to leave.

Stardragon 12-14-2013 04:02 AM

Do you play videogames?
I hate the subspecies of SoccerMoms.

Ah, I see some get promoted o.o That's not quite so bad

Well, stay at home mom's do work, there employed as being a mom (I can't blame them for choosing such a wonderful career over kroger, especially with all the issues I'm having with them lol). I never understood why everyone likes hiring students, or even college students especially when you know they probably won't stay. And with all the unemployed adults out there...*shrug*

I play some online computer games. Not much in the way of PS3 or Xbox though.

What about nintendo? D: You ever play MMO's?

tigerangel 12-14-2013 04:08 AM

I know, I didn't mean it like that.
being a mom is a demanding job, in itself for sure.

I meant, we don't get a lot of people applying at our store. The cost of living is high here,
so it wouldn't make sense to commute if you lived in Denver or surrounding area.
You can chose to get hired at a store closer to where you live.
We hire college kids even just for the summer, because we need people that badly, at times.

I dont play any console games really. I play League of Legends,Skyrim and World of Warcraft etc.

Citrus Hammer 12-14-2013 04:12 AM

The store I work at has a high turnover. It's not hard to see why since they make it so easy to fire people, give no hours, and are generally shitty. I want out asap.

Oh, I see :3 [lol]

Hopefully with all those moms around things will change o.o more kids and all that but then maybe not [lol]

It probably doesn't help gas prices always seem to go up instead of down too, doesn't encourage a long commute either [sweat] The kroger I'm working at is as close as you can get here, some days I wish stuff was close but least the scenery stays intact an pretty this way :)

I wonder if the store I'm at struggles any? Since they seem to have a lot of senior shoppers at such. It would explain why the hiring process is so easy in comparison to walmart or all the fast food joints I tried [sweat]

@tigerangel why is it high since it's an out in the boondocks. One would think it would be cheap since it snows 3/4 of the year.

Aw, too bad I really love console games! I play perfect world international, used to play fiesta but can't get it to work, and other pwe games, oh yeah used to play last chaos too but it won't work for me either. Oh and pirates of the Caribbean online. Never tried World of war craft or anything though, I mostly stick to free to plays as its all I can afford (though if kroger doesn't fire me that might change)

I can't blame the college kids pr really anyone, to not want to stay. They don't seem to be consistent when dolling out hours to the part time workers.
the high school age kids will occasionally be put on the schedule during the time they would be in school. That always causes a problem.

Ive been thinking of getting a PS4 I need my Final Fantasy fix.

tigerangel 12-14-2013 04:22 AM

My daughter quit working here because one week she would get 32 hours, the next 24.
It was like that pretty much week after week.
She got hired by Lowes and was promoted from part time to full time checker, pretty quickly.
