Amane: I've been having super issues with stress for what feels like a year now, but this past month has been the worst. :( UGH! D: Awww, I'm sorry to hear that! :( Yeah, that's how I feel too. I just hate it - my best friend is about ready to get on a plane and fly down here.
And yep, I have a Finnish last name that we weren't doing too bad a job at pronouncing correctly, just had the stress on the wrong syllable. :P |
Things finally settled down to tolerable conditions when it was almost time for school again. -_-
That makes me wonder how many other people have been pronouncing their last name wrong all along. XD Once I read something where someone found out she had been spelling her first name wrong her entire life! |
That's good - school has only made my life worse. Rather everything that's come up since I started school that is.
Oh, wow, that's crazy! See I have always known that my last name is probably being pronounced wrong, I've not been pouncing it all that wrong though, just need to put the emphasis on the first letter instead of the last as I have been. :P How is it possible to be spelling your own first name wrong?! That's crazy! LOL |
Yes. That's why the timing of things getting better wasn't the greatest. I didn't get time to enjoy my break!
It's funny how easy it is to end up thinking something is normal for years, or saying something a certain way, and then find out you're wrong because someone calls you out on it. I found out my name was supposed to be something Russian. Instead I have a very common name. :( |
There is something I had been meaning to ask...
Do you people have identity cards? Something to proof you are the person you say. I am not talking about business cards. |
No, I don't because of my current life situation. [:)]
/that sounds like I'm poor /I JUST TURNED 18 OKAY |

Ah, but wouldn't it also be however you want to spell it?
Awww. I've got a boring first name, my last name means 'Clearing in the forest' in finish. :P And most Americans can't pronounce it correctly. :P |
As in people that live in country that is not where I am.
Basically, it is only 1% possibility that you will be at the same country as I am. Only met like 3 to 5 people from my country all these years on menewsha. I was informed by someone that they do not know what are identity cards. O__O |
In America - yes, we have Identification cards ^-^ Issued by the state we reside in :)
|
Yes, and I need to re-new mine, mum's mailing me what I need to sign so I can get a new one issued to me. [yes] It expires in November - my ID card. [XD]
|
Sounds like a state-issued ID to me. For someone to not know what that is, they would have to be really young!
I've looked up names I like and found out they have such pretty meanings. Mine has a nice meaning, too, but it's so common it's worn out for me. I'm sick of hearing it, I guess. |
|
In our country, we got our ID card when we turn 12.
And no need to re-new it. Unless, of course, stolen or broken. The only exception is during the upgrade of the new card system, which happened only once since independance. So US do have ID... okay. noted. Now left UK... About names... my name is Chinese, so... foreigners are expected to pronounce it wrong, I am used to it. X3 The meaning of my name is very 'shallow' in meaning. "getting pretty and prettier", "surpass beautiful"... Sounds like all about surface beauty, not inside. |
In america you have to renew everything it seems like lol :P If your old enough to drive, your drivers license doubles as your ID here too.
And I've been curious: where are you from rette? o.o You don't have to answer if don't want to either ^-^ |
My boyfriend is from Taipei, Taiwan.
His real name is Xi-Jun |
hoh! You exposed your bf real name!!! XD
I am from South East Asia, was a British Colonial. Same country with Iroro~ X3. Over here, we do have driver license too... but man, the authority are so tedious. They insist on ID card when doing official business. Our ID card is has computer chip, which store our fingerprint. Bank and those offices will use ID card AND the finger print scanner to confirm our identity. -__-;; I guess more security... but all this process also means takes looooooooooooooonger time/que. |
My first name is a Derivative of Mary which means Bitter. -.-
|
At least it is unique?
My name was the most popular female name in the country when I was born. |
I don't like it though, it's not unique though, I'll give you that much. It's a pretty common name, at least I see it as common-ish.

Our ID cards aren't as sophisticated either ^-^; When going to a bank here (I'm going by my states rules specifically of course), you just show you ID, bills (like for you house) and passport, etc here no finger prints needed. In fact I've never had my finger prints taken except for fun at home. Only time you get finger printed here is if you go to prison |
Ah. What is it? If you don't mind ppl knowing...
Mine is Jennifer. I go by Jenna, but even that is fairly common. IRL, I also go by Roxxxy ;) ---------- Post added 09-20-2013 at 02:04 AM ---------- Xuv: Yeah, I can't pronounce it correctly. And the English name he picked is awful (Nigel) [lol] But he is my star. I wouldn't care if his name was Poopface McPickleDick, I would love him just the same [heart] |
Wow, a name with a negative meaning? That's something I wouldn't expect.
Common names are tough to have. You hear it everywhere and always respond when you hear it because it's your name, but the person who said it wasn't talking to you and it happens a lot and it's just ugh. Plus, you feel plain because so many other people have your name. I'm going to sleep. Good night, everyone! |
Sorry, I don't really like people really knowing my name.
Amane: Totally, right? Blah to names with negative meanings. :( And totally. I can't wait to get my sign name. :] That'll be unique to me! And sleep well hon! |
Night Amane! :)
