Ahh! 70 is so comfortable.
It was about 70 here the other day and people were just laying around on any bit of lawn they could (instead of studying, as they should have been!) |
Yeah, somewhere in the 70s is nice. Not too hot. Last year it didn't really get really hot for long. August can be the pits when it's up in the high 80s for days, it's the humid air here that enervates you, makes it seem way hotter than it really is.
Plus of course there's the British concept of air conditioning, which is opening a window [ninja] |
Oof! I know... three years ago I was in Hampshire at a dig and we were a month living in tents. One thing about American tents is that they sacrifice weather-proofing for air venting. I lucked out by having one because we only had one storm in that time, but man was it nasty-- 82-83 the entire time except during the freak storm. It was beautiful to work outside in but the few nights I had to spend in London were miserable.
My friend just left the UK and passed over a standing fan to me. I couldn't thank him enough! |
oh wow my aunt and uncle came over from malaysia once for winter break (to the US) and they were freezing, i couldn't imagine going from Malaysia to the UK . _ . I was dying when i visited malaysia it was so humid especially when it rained >.<
anyway, Hi mythos :D and jelly if you're still here, haha [sweat] |
