Oh, we have a Wiki page for my school town, but I can't see record highs and lows, that's what I was talking about.
Although I did find this on the college's Wiki page

Because of its proximity to Hollywood, the campus has been an attractive spot for dozens of films and television shows, most recently American Idol in 2013. Others include Arrested Development, Ringer, Chuck, Dexter, My Name Is Earl, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Commander in Chief, Van Wilder, Six Feet Under, The Karate Kid, Battlestar Galactica, The Office, McMillan & Wife, Son in Law, Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, The Glass Bottom Boat, Legally Blonde 2, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Roswell, The Nick Cannon Show, Quincy, M.E., Georgia Rule, and Sky High (where the Oviatt Library is prominently featured). Recently, the Barry Levinson-directed What Just Happened was filmed at the Oviatt Library and featured Robert De Niro and Sean Penn. The pilot of the remake of the television series "Knight Rider" filmed a car chase on campus, acting as Stanford University. During spring break 2008, the library acted as Starfleet Academy for Star Trek (the 2009 version).[36] The parking lots to the north of the campus were featured in the movie Superbad.[37]

Ah. I think our Wikipedia page may be maintained by someone in the city itself to encourage people to visit or move here. It's ridiculously complete.
Lubbock, Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heck it even has information about my high school on there (though not any of the other high schools, because mine was the best )
That's really awesome about your town though!

That is definitely more complete than my town's Wiki page! I wonder if it does help bring people in? xD LOL!
Haha, yeah. I always joke with my mom, whenever I talk to her, now that whenever I'm going to the library I say "I have to go to Star Fleet Academy now."

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Haha. I have no idea! It would be hard to tell because the universities also bring in a lot of people. Especially Texas Tech. It's a freaking huge university.
Aaand, that's adorable. I was to go to Star Fleet Academy!

Mmmm, yeah. I can see the universities bringing in lots of people. I know that a lot of the people here in Northridge come in for school here. It's a pretty big school as well.
Yeah, first time mom asked me "How did it to go at Star Fleet?" (I had spent the day at the library doing research for a paper.) I totally was confused for a second and then was like "Oh, it went great!"

Yeah, big schools really bring in a lot of people. The key is trying to keep them there after they graduate.
Haha, that's funny.
So what are you up to today?

True, good point there!
Yeah, took me a second - didn't help that I was exhausted so I Wasn't thinking as clearly as I normally would be.
And I have classes at 12:30 and 4 pm today. Just charging my phone, and I'll be leaving in about an hour to head over to campus to make sure I know where my rooms that I need to go are, and then wait. For awhile. And because I'm on campus I'll probably not be coming back home between classes... it'll be interesting to see how early my teachers let us out.
What about you? What are you up to today? :]

Well at least it's only two classes today. Though I hate it when there is a huge gap between classes. Heh. I have always hated being stuck on campus.
I need to do a crapton of laundry, but I sooo don't want to. And then this evening I have dance and tutoring. I feel like I had something else I really needed to do, but I have NO idea what it was.

But it's two ASL classes with no interpreter and I'm already feeling overwhelmed. I know one of the teachers and I've met her, and I can read her pretty well, most of the time, but the other one, I've had no contact from her at all, so I have no idea what to expect. :/ It's normally only 45 minutes break in between, which isn't too bad, but being the first day who knows. I don't normally mind being stuck on campus. I just sit and people watch. :] Seeing as I live on campus all the time, it's not much different for me.
Oh, good luck with that. I have laundry I need to get done too. :/ I've been putting it off. Bad me! >.< Oh, dear! Hopefully you remember!

I was wondering if you would be able to video the class. In vet school, we were allowed to take in a voice recorder so we could review later. Why shouldn't you be able to do a video recorder?
I would just always rather be at home. I'm always uncomfortable on campuses. I think it's because I can't park wherever I want and have to rely on the buses to get me to me parking spot five miles away, so I feel really trapped. I always like to have an easy escape route.
Haha, thanks. I really wish I could figure out what it was, because I HATE feeling like I'm going to mess something up because I can't remember.

I don't know if we can, I've never asked. And I just got the syllabus for another class - one that I have next Monday, and omg... I'm even more terrified now. :/ UGH! D: Presentations EVERY single week, if you don't show improvement... yadda yadda yadda... you need to gloss everything... I fail at glossing. D: Like I never learned how to properly gloss. D: This semester is going to be horrible! T_T
Oh, I don't have a car so I never have to worry about that - I don't have my license. I can just walk back home if I ever want to, or take the tram back to the dorms.
You're welcome! I hate that feeling too.

It's because a sore throat is usually swollen, which means you've got localized heat due to expanded blood vessels. So cold soothes it some and brings down the swelling.

But that's the thing, I hate presentations. D: I always freeze up and do something stupid. :[ *sighs* :/ I'm fine if they're recorded things, but in person, forget it. I always freeze.
Glossing is taking an English sentence and writing it down, in ASL structure - it isn't written sign, it is just a rough gloss of how the sentence should be signed.
More info here on Glossing

Best thing I can tell you is to practice it a lot. And it looks like you at least have a good resource for how to gloss. But maybe you can talk to the professor or another student about glossing?

Your part of Texas maybe. Mine is just cold and grey. Stupid lack of precipitation.
Also, you really should get some honey. It has some antibacterial properties so it's helpful for colds.
And yay for tidbits! I love learning. I'm constantly researching things.

Yeah, I know... And I can, she's an easy enough teacher to approach, but still. *hides* Blah... Ok, yeah, at least we don't have a text book as she's trying to cut down the cost for students, so that's nice at least. I can always ask my roommate to help me too. Random question, do you know the actress Shoshannah Stern? That's my teacher. No joke.

I wish that we would get snow. (Although that would throw off the locals, and I would just sit and laugh. xD) But it's clear and sunny here, with no clouds and in the 70's. >.< I'm wearing flip flops today, with no jacket. >.< This so isn't right for January. -.- It's throwing me off! XD

Oh wow! I loved her in Lie to Me. I was so sad it got canceled. It's really awesome that she's so approachable.
Yeah, I miss snow hard core. And it is weird wearing flip flops in January, but the good news is..it's extremely unlikely you'll get Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Yeah, and she's adorable, and got an AMAZING sense of humor. She's deaf of deaf - deaf born to deaf parents. She's fourth generation deaf actually, which is actually pretty rare. I had her last semester for my Deaf 200 class, and I have her again, for my Deaf 370 class - the one I'm freaking out over. I think it's 370. LOL. I've got three deaf classes - 360, 370, and 484. Pretty sure those are the numbers, not that it really matters.
Ehhh, last term, I swear it really did hit me as I'm used to having actual seasons and then going to somewhere where it was warm when it should be cold, with no colors. Fall was horrible - it was just warm, and there were no fall colors, and it was just not right. :/ I swear it was S.A.D. hitting me, because of the lack of seasons and WAY too much sun and strange weather. :/ But that's just my theory. >.< That on top of homesickness... made last semester fun.. *sarcasm* XD LOL!
Ok, I am going to head over to main campus - I'll be back when I get settled in while waiting for class to start!
