Wow, things have changed
I am an olbie, started only a few months after the first V-Day event. I quit a long time ago, and boy has things changed.
Before, Menewsha was pretty small. Active, but still small. There were no blogs, spy, or new post in the blue box. There was no Shops Map, or an Arcade. We played Blackjack, and other card games. There are a lot of new items that are extremely beautiful, and MC's are more inflated than ever. I remember the old days, King's Crown/Queen's Crown were only 3k. V-day Pin, the most expensive item of the day, was only 20k. Now, V-day Pin is above 200k, and King's Crown/Queen's Crown are 40k. Now, the most important thing that hit me. Menewsha isn't as active. Maybe it's because of school, jobs, etc. But it doesn't have the same aura. So, spoons for you. Are you an olbie coming back? What do you think of how much has changed? Etc. |
I didn't join all that long ago. I have seen some slowness, but it's still school time.
I've seen the site itself grow a little. I hope to be around to see more growth. |

Long time no see <3 I believe the main thing is school right now that is keeping everyone away. Things should pick up again as people get settled, hopefully after the first grading period/midterms. Things at school have just slowed down for me(between my college class midterms and high school ending grading period), so I am finding more time to come back now. The last few weeks I was not really active. So yeah... I expect things to start speeding up again by the halloween event and definately during it. And hopefully development will be starting up again soon. ^^ |
I know its midterm season at the middle schools, high schools, and colleges around my area... so I'll attribute a lot of the past week's downtime to that. :3
Unless it was procrastination season-- then I have no valid excuse for it. XD |

I'd say it's definitely school that's causing the current lull, though things have picked up this week compared to last. Biggest slump ever on registrations last week, but they're back up to normal now, and daily posting stats are up again too. So a lot of people must have most of their tests out of the way and have some time for some fun again, instead of nose to the grindstone studying..

I remember the kings crown and queens crown going for 3k. I never bought one since they were donated to me when I first joined the site by a friend. I don't think the site has changed that much, and the changes that have happened are for the better imo. the games are more fun and though I do miss losing my peddly savings in the guessing game, I'm quite happy it isn't around anymore. xD |
When i first joined, slippers were 1k each and puado was 6k >>;;
Now puado is like 25k+ and slippers are 8-10k a piece ;0; carni pins were only 700g back then too...now they're like 7k? XD Oh the times! <3 i am not even that old either o; BUT, once tests are over and we get advertising back up things will get better :D |
I saw a carni pin sell for 10k. They're getting pricey, and still hardly anyone wears them. xD

Well, I have noticed Mene being inactive while I've been online. >w> I don't think it's less active, I think it just seems less active to me because there isn't the posting war for most posts on Mene was was going on shortly after I joined. xD; Remember poipoii, heart, seito, aries and rawrsaurus competiting over top post? xD -alot of those have become unactive. D: actually I think out of all those I just mentioned only Seito posts regularly.
Where I live we have End of year exams and TEE exams and Graduation! (in like 4 days actually. xD) Secondly, no ones active during my time zone! D: The only time I really have avaliable is 3pm-6pmish, which for my time seems to be the most inactive. >w>; or I just don't really talk to people since I don't know anyone anymore. Dx |

I think we've changed it... twice? before changing it to the one we have now. O: Or maybe it was just once... -memory fails- |
Well, it was twice if you count the really old one. Josh changed it from it's original state by adding the toolbar (Home, Forum, Shops, Games, Contribute) and the new index. Then with the software switch we had another layout change. So yeah, it's been a few times we've went through cosmetic changes.

First off, I have to say I love your username.
Secondly, I think it is mainly school and whatnot that's causing the inactivity - though Mene has always been slower than most of the bigger sites out there, I thought we were pretty active over the summer. From what I've seen, it looks like we're headed back to our normal activity levels. :yes: Although...I must say, the inflation issues you mentioned...are killing me. :gonk: I'm ready to start questing for that Oriental Fan I've had my eye on since I joined...BEFORE it gets way out of my reach. :sweat: |
I remember all of the layouts, the first one was a bit different since I joined in June, but I do remember those days! XD The massive posting, for instance.

I too have seen this site grow. Not for as long as you have of course but I still have seen growth. I think that these changes are a good thing and we should embrace them. inflation BIG problem there there though. I'm to poor already. -sniffle- But I will diligently post until I get enough gold for my big and beautiful dream avvie. I can't wait for it's completion. I also love the new item's we get with the events. My favorite event items so far though have been those from the phoenix orchid. I still think that change is a good thing and it will help us get through the problem with activeness. I don't want to see this site given up on when everyone here is so close. It's a much tighter-nit family than Gaia any day. Even if Gaia is a lot bigger and flashier sometimes smaller and closer together is better anyway.

School is a major factor for a portion of the community. I happen to be on fall break right now so that is why I have enough time for forum events and stuff. I say events due to I keep an eye on at least two other two other forum avatar sites and Runescape(eheh...haven't been on in like more than two months due to school, first term is always a struggle for free time).
