We will all be the same age as you are now, one day.

Despite the face I'm 23, I'm still in that mindset that 10 years is a hell of a long time.

And what do you mean I should be out making friends and having a life! This is my life and everyone here is my friend, including Jelly and Juru.

I'm sorry I called you two creepy, and . . . wait, why do either of you care what I think?

That is really sad. People I know online actually care about what I think a hell of a lot more than people I know in RL (including my "sperm donor")

lol I'm younger than Daashi.

Original Menewsha had many older users because the site is far more quite and laid back the normal avatar sites.

I myself am 21 and most of the my friends here are older then 18. ^^

I don't mind younger members but some of them are rather immature. >>;

I remember celebrating every 100g I managed to gain.

And dancing when I made it on the 'richest users' list. XD

Getting on that list was hard haha. And seriously, it was only a few hundred gold that you even needed to be there!

I'm 18, almost 19. Google had its 10th anniversary last fall. I made my first website at 11, but... I remember clearly asking my mom a year previous and she kept telling me no, so I did it without permission. I was into Pokémon then. I remember being on my mother's Windows 95 using dial-up to instant message with ICQ when I was even younger than that... basically though, I took my mother's computer and adapted with the internet. I've been around the internet longer than most of it has existed, and I've seen the population change... it went from nerds, to anime fans, to gamers, and suddenly MySpace preps. I have a strong dislike for chatspeak, because I grew up with it being inappropriate. >_< No one understood you when you used to use acronyms. I first got sent an 'lol' in 6th grade and kind of stared at it funny. That's just how much the internet has evolved, but----

---Menewsha. Older crowd? I hope so. But this is the internet, age may not matter. Maturity? Definitely. We are a much more mature crowd, I believe. It's because Menewsha controls its spam. ^_^

My two-year old cousin knows how to use his father's iPhone competently. I just learned how to text on a cell. This terrifies me. The next generation of children are going to be cyborgs, I swear.

In any case-- I'm 20, and... again, I find myself agreeing with Guivre-- there is a higher percentage of older people, here on Menewsha. Then again, the system here is not as child-friendly as a place like Gaia, for example. Here, you make more money for making good use of the english language. I can imagine that might be frustrating for a hyper young person, accustomed to chatting on MSN.

Sher 02-04-2009 05:08 PM

I'm fifteen lol!
I think i'm one of the youngest here~

Motion 02-05-2009 02:07 AM

Hey I'm 10 years old and I love Menewsha!! Woohoo!! Go Menewsha!!

Just kidding, I think there are older people here because Menewsha was designed to be for more mature people. Hyuck.

kyrai999 02-05-2009 10:37 PM

I joined gaia knowing it was quite an immature site (when I say immature I mean for younger users) at the age of 17, thinking oh my god im sad but I mainly did it because iminto game design anime and anything to do with computering so I thought having a look around could show me the inns and outs of sites such as avi sites...

I'm now 19 and still think im too old for sites like this but I do enjoy talking with the people on here because they actually seem to have brains lol :)
you see the alians turned all the gaia people into cows :D so now all they seem to be able to do is say
"your a noob"
"NO your the noob noob!!"
"wateva NOOB"

and so the conversation continues
... ....
....
... "NOOB"

lol

But yesh my point, I like it here, im not the best at writing as I failed english and do art in college so have not much time to write and I guess doing this is kind of teaching me again to be more literate (and to spell better...kinda :P)

Randall 02-08-2009 04:14 AM

Hm, well yea, but I think that's better. More mature people makes a more mature community. I think that's why I've adapted to Mene so well, because I was never really into forum sites before Mene.

The Vanished 02-09-2009 02:19 AM

I agree. I find much more older people on here. Its way more sophisticated then Gaia Online. Well of course I started playing that game when I was 10, but I was and I still am a very mature person. I actually find it quite serene not having immature people lurking around in every corner. Its actually quite hard to believe that I am just a 13 year old myself.

Xanadu125 02-10-2009 10:38 PM

I don't know...?

Mei 02-16-2009 05:42 AM

From my experience, even when I first signed up, Menewsha seemed to have more older people (older teens and people all through their 20s). I'm not sure why... I suppose its the no spam rules?

1 Step 2 Happiness 03-15-2009 07:14 PM

Honestly, I agree with that.

I haven't seen a wide variety of People below the Age of 13 (Around my Age)
Often, I find people 20+

But as I think about it, Menewsha's Rules tend to be more Strict, while Gaia is more, "Ooooh!! Oh! Oh! Oh! Let's do that!!" (What I just said for Gaia totally summed up my personality 0.0)

Though I find Gaia more entertaining because of Gaia's more Happy, Upbeat, wanna-be Grown-up, Adorable theme," I still find Menewsha more of a place to hold a real Conversation. So the reason why Menewsha has more older people is because Adults can have an Actually conversation.

And I started messing with the Computer when I was 9-years-old

....

I seriously went Off-Topic
:offtopic:

Toki Teki 03-15-2009 08:42 PM

I my self do believe that this site is for the older crowd although im only 14 myself x33 but yeah

Esmereina 03-15-2009 09:13 PM

Well I am 28 yrs old... and I just find Menewsha more mature... not necessarily age mature..just mentally mature. I see alot of 14 year olds in here who I thought were around my age because of the way they present themselves online. I enjoy it here for this reason.

Massage 03-16-2009 01:33 AM

I'm in my mid teens.

I think it's that there isn't spam and literate typing is highly encouraged that make people here seem older. It may not be the actual age just a sort of a maturity level. Spam/illiterate typing always make me think of an immature ... brat.

When I was ten, if I was allowed to use the family computer at all it was for brief spans: I could use it for school assignments but it was considered by my parents to be more of a brain-rotting activity than TV.

I'm a college student right now and it's refreshing to see an older community. The discussions tend to be more enlightened and the users have cooler heads, both of which are highly desirable in an online community such as this.

Kids at nine even, can type faster than some adults. But they're Mainly out of shape computer nerds (sorry for stereotype)

Framboise 03-16-2009 09:59 PM

Yea, I think there is a lot more older people on here. I'm eighteen..
I think that's why it's better here, though. No little terds with no manners. The people who are younger here either know how to type properly and treat people with respect, or are very obviously their age... There isn't much of an in between.

GeminiKizzy 03-17-2009 02:25 PM

I"m 29 and this is my fav site.

SimplySabra 03-19-2009 03:30 AM

:D I never noticed, but I'm 17 and I prefer this site over Gaia because the posts here are more literate than on Gaia.

Izumi 03-19-2009 09:58 AM

Just thought I'd pop in and clock my age at 25. As mentioned before previously though it seems the mental capacity of our average user seems to be able to handle deep conversation and typing using full sentences, and also spelling and grammar in tact. (Although my punctuation has a lot to be desired...) I love it. I hate places where they text speak and conversation seems so petty and just uninteresting.

Ryko 03-20-2009 02:28 PM

I'm 21 myself. If people here are a bit older, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It makes for easier conversation at least, lol

Kimberly 03-23-2009 09:53 PM

I dunno... I don't know to many people here so I cant judge, lol. I'm like 13 xP Most of my Gaian friends are 14+

EDIT: Which sucks cause I cant buy the monthly collectibles, lol. *Starts saving up allowance*

Kids are learning to type at a younger age no though, so they are learning long before most of us did, I was in about the fifth grade when I learned to type, around eighth when I become a rather quick and clean typer.

As for age, with the cutesy avatars and such, I have a hard time picturing anyone on avatar sites older than their avatar appears. Even if I am a college level student myself.
