A recent study showed that girls outnumber boys in most online gaming areas. In fact, there are more women in the work place now, too. We're going to rule the world! A few more years and Hil Clinton will be president!!

The ages that sites like these generally attract are ages for boys that they are out trying to "fit" in and act cool.
Like hanging out with the cool guys etc..you know teenager stuff. Like macho guy stuff and in that age group, kids that hang on the computer all day are like computer geeks.
But of course, I havent been a teenager in like 10 years so it might be different lol.

But, the handful of guys that are actually on sites like these are generally the special, emotional, sensitive guys that actually end up with the good girls and such.

Blah, I think I am rambling... lol sorrys

Most avatar sites have more girls, just as fighting games ( like fantasy/sci-fi and so on ) have more guys.

TelstelNSG1 11-21-2009 07:59 AM

i'm not surprised, however i have seen a few guys around on the site so, i think it's about even
the only way you can tell is pretty much ask

Rangaboy227 11-23-2009 09:20 AM

because I'm allll alone, I feel special, but yeah I am kinda intimidated by the outnumberiness thats going on, so yeah

Eva-san 11-23-2009 09:38 PM

o.Owell alot thres alot of chix in these online games thres heaps of girls and less guys like this game i play thers like 7 girl char to chose from and 3 guy char to chose from for the game but still on the forum had the same thing, girls outnumbers guysxD

Aviis 11-23-2009 10:06 PM

Half the time, I have no idea whether the avatars are male or female. Sometimes staring at their chests just doesn't cut it.

But yeah, I think women are more social, so it makes sense. I have no idea upon the theory as to why girls out number.

The main gripe I have with this is that it's hard to tell many times females from the males on here. The men aren't muscular enough or something. i dislike looking like a girl on here cause I am a dude.

~Squiggle~ 11-30-2009 05:24 PM

Its like that on nearly every avatar site if not all of them. Most items (well the better items) and bases are very feminine so it won't usually attract that many male users, no biggie, just the way it is :)

Kings Anointed 11-30-2009 08:45 PM

-yawns- Sup people?

mortosdersoulstealer 12-01-2009 08:22 AM

can't say I'm totally surprised but I agree that I expected more males to play

Kings Anointed 12-02-2009 09:53 PM

Indeed indeed. Me being a guy is a rare thing on this site from what I've seen.

jellysundae 12-02-2009 10:11 PM

We do have a fair few guys. It would create a lot of difficulties to have a more muscular male base though (apart from the fact that a lot of the guys wouldn't want that) as the bases need to be the same size. A greatdeal of our clothing is unisex, that wouldn't be possible if the male base was a lot bulkier than the female.

Hmmm true that makes sense. >_< -bows-

I don't really know or pay attention. I could care less what someones gender is. I don't assume people are male or female. Sometimes you want a male avatar or sometimes a female for whatever reasons so the avatar thing is just fun in my view and doesn't show someones gender at all. As far as the whole 'girls are more chatty' I don't really agree with that. Every male in my family can out talk any female and so can my friends.

So I guess all in all for me I it doesn't matter as long as your awesome and fun to hang with then I don't care what you are. Same goes for age. I don't care if you're 12 or 72. People are who they are and that's what I like.

My sister once sold all my clothes turned me into a girl and bought a lot of girly clothes, then started typing spam... Because she was 5 years old when she did...

I am afraid I am finding it rather hard to resist the urge to say "well duh"
I am afraid that sites like these do have a primarily female fan base as it basically a dressing up game involved. There are men that go on the sites but they are few. Plus quite a lot of the looks here are girly so its understandable some men don't want to join, my boyfriend for one has said that allthough he finds the avatars sexy the site is a little too fruity for him.
Its just the way of the world me thinks.

CinderMoth 01-19-2010 02:01 AM

Agreed with some of the earlier posts, it seems like these types of site do attract more females, but the same goes for the role playing forums in most places. Guys seem to be scarce or unwilling to participate in anything with females. And I think it may have something to do with the amount of attention it takes to keep interested in things like.

But, you know. I may be completely wrong. I spend a lot of time on a different site like this (which I'll just leave un-named for right now) and it's the same there. I like their forums better because of higher activity but the avatars here on Menewsha seem to be more dress-friendly than the other sites.

Well thats because guys are usually into shooting games or something...usually im not saying all of them are but alot of them are..manly guys i guess would find this Gay or whatever you want to call it. no offense if any guy acually likes this im not saying you are... just sayin'

Gabriel 02-12-2010 10:36 PM

HAX! I tell you! HAX.

Its all a conspiracy! A trivial pursuit of the mind!

I'm one of those girls. I prefer male avi's because there's actually less styling you can do with them 9 times out of 10 on sites like these. Female avi's usually come with way more clothing then male avi's so I like to improvise.

and that's kind of weird. In all of my school classes from middle school through high school when counting, I was always one of like... 6 girls in a class of 26, It always seemed to be more boys than girls in all of my classed. In total boys outnumbered girls in my school.
