wooooooohOOOOO!!
I made it up to level 17 finally I used tre's method and it lagged a little less, with just the balloon people. o.o

CK 08-25-2009 01:06 AM

The amount of gold you earn is based on your score, yes. :)

Astrelle 08-25-2009 02:19 AM

;_; With Tre's method I killed the second blue girl but it froze on 15. =( And I was doing so well too... (quality was on low...)

Antagonist 08-25-2009 04:01 AM

lol Tre, that is one creepy screenshot xDDD *mental image of self being a fan and walking out, then immediately being plummeled by an immense hoard of balloon-throwing girls* Dx

@CK: Ah, I see, thanks!! *wonders how much gold for how high the score*

WitchySanura 08-25-2009 01:09 PM

lol my screen often looks like that too Tre ^^
I play for fun mostly since for some reason it's not granting me any gold >.< It just asks if I want to play again.....very frustrating.
You killed the second blue girl, Astrelle?! Congrats!

Astrelle 08-25-2009 07:22 PM

Witchy - I had to buy another balloon thrower with the money I used to kill the first one and put it in the middle of the last dent before the Mayor's house.

I had lots of balloon throwers at the beginning too... and in the middle where they could hit twice... so it weakened them early on for an early kill. >: D

Thorfy 08-26-2009 03:05 PM

Level 18! Wahey!

They start overlapping by that point though and i can never tell what's going on lol

Sexy Blue Candy 08-26-2009 03:07 PM

I made it to level 17.... 55 gold dying on that level! ^_^
I dont care if I dont get the top score, 55g per game is good to me.

Antagonist 08-26-2009 04:13 PM

It's also great for passing time...since each game takes me about twenty minutes to finish/die xD;;

Sexy Blue Candy 08-26-2009 09:18 PM

It is...and it's an ultraaa quick way to get gold even though it takes like 30 minutes to get to level 17.

Tilly 08-27-2009 02:17 AM

Thanks to the guide, I get 35 gold more than I used to!

But I always die at level 14. D:<

Micki Chiba 08-27-2009 02:37 AM

I loved that game! I wonder if they are gonna release a "Attack of the Fangirls" Dolls in the Toy shop?

Sinister Sassy 08-27-2009 02:43 AM

I should be out chatting with people, but all I want to do is get past level seventeen! I absolutely love this game. At first I couldn't get past fourteen, but I watched Insomniac's advice video and got past it. Now I keep getting close to the end of seventeen, but I can never seem to live just a little while longer. I've tried all the strategies posted. I know people are getting double my average score, so I know it's possible, but for the life of me I haven't figured it out yet. I'm the type to bang my head against a wall until the wall comes down, so you can bet I'm going to figure out this game!

Sephaline 08-27-2009 05:02 AM

Holy poo, that video was SOOOO helpful! I mean, I didn't even know you could purchase guards even after the fans started coming!

And putting them all in a line parallel with the path is a great idea! Mine involved putting them all over and it's not working. :|

Thanks so much for the help! :D :glomp:

Sinister Sassy 08-27-2009 07:07 AM

Wahoo!! Level 21! Finally made it past 17. Lag fest a go-go at 21, but I'm not giving up yet!

Has anyone figured out a work around to play this without browser crashes? If it was just lag it would be bareable but i still lock when i try to buy things in mid-round but trying to play with only buying per round is suicide.

I've said it a bunch of times, it's not actually crashing, just lagging. Be patient when it seems to lock up while buying things during a round. It might take a minute to get usability back but you can.

PaintTheSkyRed 08-27-2009 09:31 AM

It is fine for me, Insomniac but then it would lag occasionally.

Thorfy 08-27-2009 11:17 AM

Got up to level 21 and pocketed 100g! Got scared I would lose it though, lagged like crazy.

Antagonist 08-27-2009 12:06 PM

Well, when it lags for me...I waited ten minutes and it was still lagging with no signs of it continuing D: The screen also turned paleish white and my cursor in its 'waiting' mode while everything freezes and I can't click on anything at all D:

(I apologize if the rest of this post sounds like I'm complaining or am telling people what to do. That's not the case. I'm just incredibly frustrated, and tired of this gross miscommunication between the staff and the users.)

:(:o:(

Yes, you are correct by definition - nothing is 'crashing'. However, it's a mere technicality, as the application tends to lock after so many seconds of lag. Some people can wait it out, and the rest of us have to restart.

The LAG is CAUSING my browser to lock. It has given me errors on more than one browser, stating that the java has timed out/encountered an error, would I like to stop the script responsible.... More often though, it just causes the entire browser to be 'Not Responding' - and I did try to wait it out, more than once. But MORE THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES is not going to work. I know the difference between lag and lock. Some times lag will work itself out - other times the computer can't handle it and the application locks up instead. Guess what's happening here.

It's like my dentist saying to the nurse, 'the patient is having trouble distinguishing the vibrations from pain' - A. I'm sitting right there, don't talk like I'm not. B. The VIBRATIONS ARE CAUSING ME PAIN. There is no 'distinguishing' necessary. I'm glad the staff created such a cool game that we all want to play - but you're not listening to the majority of us when we say it's giving us lag/lock problems. We DID set it on low, we DID try to wait it out - now help us on your end to see what can be done!

I used to get paid good money to troubleshoot peoples computers. Customer Service, Customer Support, Tech Support - I've done it all at different places. I built my own computer, and I know how it works, how to update software. I'm not a computer genius, I just know how to look it up if I don't know how to fix it right off.

So. I may not know how to create a Flash Game - but I know when it's causing my computer to lose functionality.

I uninstalled and reinstalled flash. An update came up and I installed that. I changed resolution and color depth on my monitor (which did help, a bit), I looked up 'Flash unresponsive' and found that a LOT of people are having odd problems with the most recent versions, and I'd already done most of what was recommended. I even changed browsers to one that someone else had great success in using with reduced lag.

I had a friend come over and play the game, had it lock the browser up, and then he went to another site with tons of flash games, and he played about an hour's worth of OTHER Tower Defense games, to show me how it's done. NONE of those locked or even lagged the browser.

So we have a two pronged problem here.
1. High spec computers may encounter problems with SOME sites which run Flash based content. There's not much to be done about that until Adobe fixes it. --- this may just be one of those applications.

2. This particular game obviously runs with different coding than other flash based Tower Defense games, causing it to lag on high-end computers. I've noted that the people with the least lag problems are oddly, the ones who do not claim to have a 'gaming computer'.

I'd really like it if the staff who helped make this game would stop telling us it's not the game, it's us, and we the users don't know what we're talking about. A LOT of people are having problems with this. Therefore, it's not just a little 'it'll go away' problem. I'm glad it doesn't affect everyone - but the rest of us are having to deal with not being able to play the game properly if we want to play it at all. Help us! Do a little research on your end, I've done plenty on mine - and I don't want to learn to write flash just so I can try to play a game. I spent an entire DAY trying to fix this on my end, and it didn't help me.

If it turns out after researching fully that this is one of the things that falls under the unspecified problem Flash and High End computers have right now, fine. I'll be happy someone at least looked besides me.

Anyway. Like I said, I'm not mad at anyone, I'm just frustrated at not hearing any different solutions since the game's release.

I'm going to go play Call of Duty now, and shoot some people in the face to calm down. Please listen to your fanbase when they tell you something isn't working.

Sexy Blue Candy 08-27-2009 09:18 PM

Jezeriel... wow. That's long and intense.
(good luck on your quest... you're almost there... congrats!)

Sinister Sassy 08-28-2009 06:46 AM

I've finally been able go get past level 17, but only if I'm posting in another tab while the fans are running around.
I basically start by building a row 3 across in the center bottleneck. I build that as far up and down as it can go, then fill in the beginning crooks, then the far end.

I love tower defence games. While this one is fairly simple by compairison of most tower defense games, it's something I can earn gold from that I really enjoy doing. That is when there is no one to talk to.

Dollottie 08-28-2009 02:00 PM

I rather agree with Jez, if everyone's having issues with it, then maybe 'everyone' isn't the problem, but rather, the common factor- the game. It simply requires too much from my computer to run effectively, and I have a good quality computer.

Although, frankly, I don't care enough about a computer game to go to all that effort. XD

In short, it's fun, and I look forward to being able to play it without my browser having a spaz attack.
