Honestly, a shirt that I paid 10x too much for because it features head on it is not what I would describe as fruitful.

But what does a shirt do? It sits there and looks nice. What does a poster do you pay 10$+ for? It sits there and looks nice.

Basically, what needs to be understood is that it all boils down to consumerism. We spend our money first on what we need, and then on what we want? Who are you, or anyone else, to judge what I decide to spend my extra money on, especially when it helps a site?

You say it's pointless, yet here you are partaking of this site that has ONLY been made possible because there are people who decide to spend money on it to keep it free for you. It's very possible you may not understand the costs of running sites like these, and the fact that a membership fee most likely wouldn't work. Furthermore, offering something in exchange for the contribution ensure that people actually do contribute.

Every little bit helps. If you can only afford $2.50 a month and are willing to give it, it may seem like nothing and not really worth it. But when ten people put that in a month, that's 25 dollars a month. When 50 people do it, that's $125 a month. Which is still not enough, but when you add that to the people who can spend 5 dollars or 10 dollars or whatever a month, it does add up and it does help. We need every penny.

Which is one of the reasons I've recently spent so much on Mennies - else than the fact that I like the items and need the gold I can get by selling them. xD
In my opinion, it's worth it, if you have the money to spare and enjoy the site and the items. Ofcourse, if that 2.5 dollars means the difference between having food or not, it's not worth it. If it means the difference between eating some bread with cheese for breakfast once or getting a triple cheese burger during said breakfast, it's already different.
And if it's the difference between buying a ten dollar bag you don't really need and you have already three of, it's certainly worth it, at least, in my opinion. Unless you don't really like Mene, or cannot spend much time on it, because I can imagine it would not be worth it then.

I guess the word "worth" is the key concept here then. ^^;; Especially since worth is very subjective, after all. =O <3<3

Although, I do admit to wondering how many people exactly find this "worth it", so to speak. =O But that would mean asking for personal site information, which I doubt will be given to us. XP And I shall avoid using what CK said as reference, since it's probably just an example in a hypothetical sense. xDD;;

I think that it IS worth it. Why? Because you get one of a kind items that are only temporarily available and..cmon people..not like they're charging 10~20 USD for them. I am always more than willing to pay $2.50 for something sweet and, at the same time, have the knowledge that I'm one of the many who are helping the site stay up and running.

I think they are very much worth it! You get to see the item before you get mennies anyway and if you aren't satisfied with the item you can always set up a store in the exchange thread and do your best to sell it. You will pronbably find someone that is interested fairly quickly
