I like both.... ::nods:: But the threads move much faster on Gaia, Im not sure if that is good or bad.

I play both, new here, but I'm kind of enjoying it here a bit more.

I'm new here, but I have a feeling that I'm going to like Menewsha a lot better than Gaia.
I've been on Gaia on and off since 2003. I've been losing interest since Gaia became more popular. I only go on Gaia now to change the way my avatar looks, talk to some in real life friends that have moved out of the area, and play Booty Grab in the aquarium forums.
I like the avatars on both Menewsha and Gaia. The styles are pretty cool. I have no qualms with how the avatars look. The differences are what make them both unique and appealing.
Right now, the spam and the tweens really annoy me the most on Gaia. It's rare to find a spam free thread on there these days.
From what I've seen on here, people here seem a lot more friendly, more community based, and more mature. Gold seems to be a lot more difficult to get on here than Gaia, but that's not a biggie.

I like the avatars styles equally.
I don't like the fact that newbs have to start out with absolutely no clothing to their name :/ Makes one feel a bit like a prostitute.
BUT, I think I will rather enjoy it here more...I find that the discussions are rather intellectually driven. People are using their brains, or this site is actually attracting an older crowd.That's a good thing. -Thumbs up-
There isn't masssive amounts of spam everywhere and bumps ,which was a real problem on gaia.
The people here definately seem more friendly and approachable.

I've never once gotten into any trouble on Gaia with the moderators. I am friends with a few of them on there and adore talking to them greatly. I love the staff there as well, very funny and entertaining in my opinion.

Although its a huge community, possibly the biggest and "best" online community in my opinion. The only thing I think right now that I hate so much about it is, the prices in the MP! Everyone is looking for gold on that site, people are becoming extremely greedy there, and it makes me very frustrated.

I adore Gaia because I met my boyfriend there, and it got me out of a very hard situation I was in when I was living else were. If it were not for Gaia I wouldn't have found my current boyfriend and I'm living back in the place were I was originally born and raised.

Although I do like this place because its pretty much strictly forum site, and I enjoy getting into conversations here because everyone seems more mature and "of age" here then on Gaia. Most people on Gaia are children, and its hard to get into an actual conversation with a teenager, they are not very serious about many things. And although there is a chatterbox for silly conversations, its kinda lame and has no point. Sometimes I get enlightened about certain forums because the conversations are actually serious and have mature people in them..but..yea its pretty hard to find a serious person.

Here there are much more mature people, and that in my books is a for sure plus! Also its very easy to earn gold here, just post and besides that's what this site is about, its a forum site, so of course I'm going to be posting.

It is easy on Gaia to make gold by playing Booty grab, but as I said before - people are becoming excessively greedy right now. I've been wanting to become a moderator on Gaia as well, but I needed more TOS violation reports then what I had so I was turned down.

But to get down to the main point, it all matters on opinions that's what it boils down to. No site is perfect, just as no human being is perfect. And every site has there ups downs and everyone has their own point of view. :D

I was a gaian years ago and like alot of you enjoed it to a point. After a while a lot of people I was good friends with started to leave for various reasons. it just wasnt the same for me so I left and was skeptical about this place, but I must say I am very pleased so far.

I've been on Gaia since 2004. It was nice at first but lately the maturity level has gone way down. You can't go into a thread or even a game room without these 13 year olds talking like they know it all... quite discouraging.

i was on Gaia about 5-6 years ago....it was silly then too :P
I recently purused the site and I don't like it at all...a lot of the people on there are just well rude!
The avatar bases aren't that nice and I personally don't like the clothing either.
Mene is much more friendlier and prettier <3

There are pros and cons to both sites.
Menewsha is mature, creates less spam and above all a safe place with anyone judging you. Gaia on the other hand is home to loads of people who wouldn't mind spamming the place up.
The only thing I see good with Gaia is that you receive clothes and money from the get go, and also much easier to gain more clothes and money.
Thats also a con for Menewsha. Gaining money and clothes is much more difficult, and you recieve basically nothing although being totally new to the site. You have to be dedicated right from the start.

Yeah, I agree that Gaia is better, only because there are more people and things seem more livelier there.
:) Other than that I love the settings of Menewsha.

I like this site a lot more. :O Things at Gaia seem so involved with business corporations nowadays. I see ads for movies/companies everywhere I go, it's no fun anymore. This place is down and it's greattt.

Which is better? Menewsha or Gaia?
 

This is kind of a harsh topic, isn't it? :lol: I think we already get enough Gaia comparison here, and I don't really see why the two have to be compared anyway. Does it always have to be a contest?

I think this thread is just going to provoke negative feelings really, because a lot of people on here could get offended by what you've said about Menewsha, and then people will rebuttle and start bashing Gaia, and then the newbies from Gaia will bash Menewsha etc. etc. and I can see it becoming a vicious circle. :o

I like Gaia for the sheer purpose of going to towns and harassing idiot cyber-sexers. That lost a lot of it's fun once they froze the sit-stand option.

As far as the gold-earning, I remember having a VERY difficult time trying to clothe my avatar. They've actually lowered the prices of newbie items on Gaia, and provide newbies with a decent handful of generic clothing upon start. Due to Gaia I now value the quality of conversation over the ability to look how I want to. Though I will say the few real-world dollars I spent on Gaia did allow me to excel financially just from buying an evolving item or two. Monthly Collectibles have gone waaay down, and any item that's not $10 is just a chance item, and unless you spend $45963763 on them you rarely get anything GOOD.

Gaia was fun but it sold out and all the cool items you now have to buy with real money. The site is over run with ads. I joined this site because I was tired of Gaia

I'm on Gaia every now and then to check up on things. I'm still a moderator for one of the guilds, so I stay active out of loyalty to them. But I really like Menewsha, mainly because everyone on here is so nice and the RPs are always active.

I miss Gaia...but I suppose this site is nice too.
 

I was a member on Gaia from Feb. 2007 up until about a few months ago. I had around 700-800k on my account, but my parents told me I couldn't go on the site anymore because of the huge amount of viruses our computer got from it. So, without a notice I just "dissappeared" one day. I feel really bad because I was a Vice Captain of a guild I loved, and I was an avid poster in the GCD. I made a lot of friends and I loved logging on everyday to see what was new. The Evolving Items were really exciting, and I even had to leave about 5 current ones in my inventory. Now everything is just rotting away and the only chance I'll be able to go on that site again is once I leave for college. And even then, do I really want to risk all the viruses?

So, I came back to this site after joining in August of 2009. I played for a few days, then kept going back to Gaia. Now, I'm going to give this site another try. A lot of things bug me though. For example, there is no marketplace (which, I guess has some positives and negatives), the gold is rounded out to the hundredths place (could someone explain that to me?), there isn't a virtual town (or is there? Maybe I just haven't found it yet), and it is harder to earn gold. Then again, on Gaia you can post, play games, BOOTY GRAB! The easiest way to earn gold EVER. I made probably 20k in one day with that game. I know people have made more though...

Anyway, from what I know so far, I still miss Gaia. However, this site is a fresh new change for me. The forums seem more relaxed and intellectual. It will take a while to get used to the new avatar base and clothes (I really miss tektek!), but so far I like this site.

I been on the site for a short time and I kinda like the system here then gaia. I like the items here, I feel my money is well spent for the items I get. Gaia has gotten dry and boring. The crowd tends to be immature and lack of imagination can not even describe it. Granted the flow here is slower but it has potential of a lot of growth here. I mentioned this place to a lot of my close RP partners in gaia. I am hoping they find this place as enjoyable, as I have found it.

The staff here is friendly and understanding and seem to care what people think. I just think gaia has thought more money in the pockets.

I am hoping to make more friends here :)
