And I was wondering who's been thinking about it?
Do you think the staff has anything (possibly special event store) items planned?
Or do you think this day of pinching those lacking the color green, and drunkessness will go unnoticed?
x' D
I personally, would love to see a mug of frothy green beer.
x' D
I think that'd be cool.

So are you expecting anything special today?
Are you doing anything fancy of Mene today?

I never really celebrate St Patricks day, I've never seen the big deal, especially since I'm not Irish. To a lot of people it's an excuse to get drunk :/ but, it would be nice still to have some green items, I don't mind getting in to the spirit of things and dressing up :)

I was hoping they would be some items today since there have been in past years. I never got to be around on St Pattys day on mene before so I'm a little sad that there isn't anything :(

There might still be something but as it is noon I really doubt it.

I have no idea if they have anything planned. I know they have been hurtin' lately. Between lots of school stuff and other things. It would be nice if there was some items. Though, who knows. Never know until they are released.

My plan is to go to the bar for a bit. lol Need to get up and move around a bit.. and get out of my cold ass room. Been studying for a couple hours and ready to get away from the books and text for awhile.

Though, my suggestion. Don't PM the staff about it. Apparently some assholes already did and now there are a couple of pissed off staff members cause of these PMs.

Being Irish, I don't understand the "pinching" stuff. I know about, but don't understand what relevance it has.
I dunno, a lot of American influence on St Patrick's day bothers me. Biggest pet peeve is "St Patties". No. Just no. Patty is a woman's name, and Patties is a plural. It's Patrick's or Paddy's. I dunno, that's just what bothers me. It's an Irish saint, and an Irish holiday but there's so so much irrelevance. :(

Today I went to mass and then to work. I work in a bar, and it was pretty busy, but not with people merely in to get drunk, it was all families. Parents with young kids. Drinking lemonade and eating Irish stew. Of course, I had a pint of cider at the end of my shift and for fun dyed it green with some food colouring.

Lol, woah, this got way more traffic than I thought, and look at that, lol.
Staff did have something planned for us.
:' D

I'm not old enough to drink, but apparently, where I'm from, this is the worst "drinking day" of the year. Like, it's so bad, that they provide free public transit, as a means to avoid drunk drivers/people DUI.
I kid you not.

@ Lilith ::

Lol, clever gal.
x' D

@ Tijdon ::

I wouldn't dream of it, and I can't believe that people did.
I might ask if there's anything planned, BUT I wouldn't bug the staff about it.
I'd rather think up possibilities with you guys.
:' D

@ Kultura ::

I dunno, I guess the pinching thing is just something for those not of legal drinking age to do.
And the family time thing sounds sweet.
c ':
I mean I probably wouldn't have chosen a bar for it, lol, but lovely none the less.
:' )

I am too busy with school to do anything fancy this year. Last year I had a st. Patrick's day party. Had a bunch of potato foods(really yummy!). This year I'm at college, and can't have a party. It would have been fun if I was able to though. last year I bought prizes for games, like sparkly green hats, green glow sticks, buttons, etc. I even had chocolate mint ice cream xD

I won't be doing anything on Mene either T_T So sad. but I have a test tomorrow so I need to study...

Note to self. "St. Paddy's Day." D=

I really don't celebrate the holiday, though I can be roped into it. I should have made Irish stew though, that would have been nice.

Kultura: We USans Americanize everything. I'm sure other countries do the same (Think of how many different versions of Christmas there are). The holiday may have started in Ireland, but we've claimed it as our own with our own traditions. Don't let it get to you.

And the best way to make a tacky american holiday work is to make sure you buy everything on clearance. I buy all my pattys/vday/halloween/christmas/thanksgiving/etc decorations and party stuff on clearance the few days after the holiday and use them for the next year. Why pay full value for the stuff when you can get a smashing deal when the stores are begging you to buy them super cheap? Just my way of beating the holiday conglomerates xD

I'd do that, but I don't have that kind of storage space and I don't want even more junk to lug around when I move.
