What sorts of themes are you looking for in commons?
One of my many jobs as an Assistant Administrator on Menewsha is to ask pixelists to pixel items. Most often that's event commons, but sometimes we have some wiggle room and I can ask for non-event commons.
I know what sorts of things I want. But what sorts of things do you want? I'm setting up this poll to try to get an idea of what users are really craving more of or think we're lacking in. Please feel free to vote for as many of these as you like! Please keep in mind I'm asking for themes - that is to say "general ideas". If you have specific items you'd like to see please post them in the appropriate thread: Regular Item Suggestions <-- Where you would post ideas for commons. Contribution Item Suggestions <-- Where you would post ideas for special items to spend Mennies on. I thought it would be useful for me to describe the different categories a little. I couldn't make as many vote spaces as there are styles out there, so I sort of smooshed some types of clothes together. I hope you'll forgive me for that. If my descriptions fail to give you an idea of what I mean by the category, you might try an image search. Casual Modern clothes By this I mean things like blue jeans, khakis, teeshirts, denim skirts; etc. Anything you might wear to school or a casual workplace. Modern Evening/Formal wear If you might wear this for a special occasion (prom, a wedding, a movie premier, to the ballet; etc) it would fit here. Cute/Lolita style clothes By this I mean cute skirts, blouses, dresses; etc. This is not 'necessarily' girls-only, but I don't know of many users who have boy avatars that dress their avatar up in the boy versions of this type of thing. Sorry guys. Punk/Gothic themed clothes Essentially - anything that would fit in Lise's store, Blackjack. Raver/Decora/Fruits style clothes Characterized by bright colors and lots of layers and accessories in many cases. Lady Gaga clothes could fit under this category. Traditional/Historical Clothes Japanese kimono, Indian saris, Russian fur hats, Dutch boy and girl clothes, ancient Egyptian kilts, ancient Roman togas; etc. Uniforms (Sports, military, occupational; etc) Pretty self-explanatory. Fantasy themed Clothes Whether they're original designs with a fantasy twist or things like steampunk/victoriana, these clothes make you think of another world. Sci-Fi themed Clothes Whether it's a retro-future or a hard-science future, these clothes make you think of metal, microchips, and space. Super-hero clothes could fit here or under fantasy, I suppose. Other (mention in thread, please!) Am I missing something? Please feel free to point it out. Please remember once again that I'm looking for sort of "general" themes. "What about runway fashion?" would be fine (though I'd probably fit it under either 'formal modern' or 'fantasy', myself). But, "I want to see cammo shorts!" should be posted in the thread I linked above. :) |
Uniform (sports!) Been hoping for stuff like that to come out. Uniforums (caps, jerseys, footwear, gloves, et cetera) as well as equipment (balls, sticks, pucks, nets, bats, et cetera).

Mostly Fantasy, Cute/Lolita, Punk/Gothic style clothes. Fantasy being number 1! ^_^

"National Pride" items. Y'know, Stars & Stripes, Union Jack, Rising Sun... It would obviously be a chore to do every country, but maybe just start with only the countries that members are from, and add them as new ones come up? These items could be in the form of tshirts, or flags (like the pirate flag?), or hats... any number of things. If I find examples, I'll put 'em up. I know I've seen pixel doll tops made from the South Korea flag somewhere, but I can't find it to show you! :gonk:
But in any case, only one type of item would suffice I suppose. I wouldn't expect flags AND shirts AND hats AND coordinating purses... Also, I'm on a Mad Men kick lately, so items from that era would be pretty fabulous (I love the dresses... and the guys could do with some more suit options anyway, especially ties that aren't black or have hearts on them... that's not exactly as masculine as some of them would prefer I'm sure >3>;;) |

More modern clothes before anything else. x) I'd love to see all of these, but I think we should have normal clothes that you could find at a mall first. We've only got a few jeans that I think people would wear in real life. The tanks in 52 are alright, but it would be nice to see some stylish tanks too. I think we need capris and 'layered' tanks. (Probably not actual layered tanks since that would be annoying to code in on Menewsha, but tanks that look like they're layered). I also think basic cardigans and plain white button up t-shirts are something we should have, since just about ever girl has them in real life. I'd also like some regular accessories, like headbands and purses. I don't think we have any purses right now, so that really feels like a 'must' to me. It'd be nice to see some more plain belts, similar to the pirate/steampunk belts, just for a normal set. For shoes, I'd like to see some flats. |
I think there's need for a lot of difference... A lot of sexy. A lot of mystic. There is need for hand held items that aren't swords or staffs. Like a giant dandy lion! This is totally off subject... But... Maybe if there's any chance for more hair styles? And different poses! |
Uniforms, definitely. I'm a sucker for them in real life and on avatar sites/games/etc.! <3

I really would like to see Cute Lolita style, but also Punk Lolita style. I'd love to see more skirts, overall, though. I'd also like to see just straight punk style, and even love to see more items around this cute little rat items you have =3 /hugs them

I'm not a big fan of normal clothing, like jeans and long-sleeves.
I try to make my avatar into something cool that I'd never be able to in IRL. I'm definitely a fan of fancy clothing, fantasy, sci-fi, yeap. xD I'd like...a misc item category. Like Channah's chicken. It's such a "wtf?!" item that I can't wait until I can get one and wear it. |

I feel like we already have a lot of goth items already. Maybe not lolita, but there's definitely other items that I'd rather have first that we hardly have any of, especially sci-fi items (really all we have is the space set...)

I think that we need more raver/fruit style clothing especially to match that weird "leaf green" colour that's so hard to match. Neon items would be pretty awesome too.
I also think that the site overall needs more modern clothing. Simple things that you can layer items over. I would really like to see items that match other odd colours that are hard to match too. |
Someone suggested in Project Mene a while back that we need more modern jackets.

I love all items but yeah commons and some event items are awesome. OF course I am a pixel artist or semi artist. HEHE.

We definitely need sports-themed items, nearly every other avatar site has some. Tennis, football, basketball... I think we have enough fantasy-themed items for now. Take a break from those a bit?

I think that we need some basic modern clothing. Like regular hoodies, ripped jeans, wife-beaters, hoodie-vest things, suspenders, those nifty high waist shorts that have suspenders, etc
Also, sport clothing would be a plus too. FOOTBALL, YEAH! -shot- Lmao. Uniforms would be nice too. Like school or even police, fireman, navy, etc uniform Sci-Fi is also pretty needed, since we only have that single space set. |

I'd love to see more anime-esque clothing. I'm addicted to avi cosplay and sometimes it can be really tough to find items for the wild syles I see on some of my favorite characters. Of course, I'd love to see new items of any type, just to have new shinies to play with. ^_^' Scifi and Fantasy are big on my want list as well. Steampunk is fabulous and we have a nice start on it here. Hmm...Oh, not sure if you can do anything about it but more hair styles would really make life exciting. *gasp* We have no short curls, long braids, or pompadours. Whatever shall I do? O_O' ;)
Oh, and some more items in the bright purple color would rock! ^_^ Starling, I believe it's called. It showed up with the steampunk event and I love it, but nothing matches it. Not even some of the other steampunk items. :headdesk: You all are awesome, btw! *huggles* |
