I think I've used it, like... once. On the post of a user using deceitful means to elongate their posts. D8;
Other than that I don't normally bother with it...

Rainy Day 11-16-2010 03:02 AM

I've used it a couple of times, just to report the most obvious spam. Like... copy/pasted messages that don't have anything to do with anything else going on in the topic at all.

But yeah, I agree with others - the mods are pretty on top of stuff here. I don't feel like I really need to use the report button. I know stuff will get taken care of pretty quickly.

KekeBoo 01-11-2011 04:20 AM

I have never reported anyone before.

Melody 01-17-2011 08:11 PM

I think the most common report we get are misplaced threads. O.o

or...people using the report button to reply to a post instead of the reply/quote button. It can be a bit...weird. :lol:

Rylynne 01-18-2011 03:22 AM

I'm guilty of using the report button for misplaced threads... 99.9% of the time. Haha. xDD;;

The latter situation sounds amusing though. 8DD;; Does it happen a whole lot? o_o;;

jellysundae 01-18-2011 09:29 AM

Not a whole lot, no, but every time it does it leaves us scratching our heads :?

And if so, what do you usually find yourself reporting?

I find myself quite often reporting misplaced threads. :gonk:
Other than that, spamming.
I rarely if ever have to report trolling or harassment. Which is kindof nice, most of what I have to report on sites like Gaia is trolling or sexually explicit stuff. xD

Mostly Flamers, Spam and Cybering. I honestly found reporting Double Posting (when it was still an accidental thing) such a monotonous task that I tended to just ignore it, or when I could, fix it and move on. Spam, Flobbing and anything intended to earn you extra gold for unneeded purposes I reported. Then anything just ignorant of the Terms of Service such as Flaming, Cybering, Off-siting, etc..

Edit:: Or if I can see Jelly online with [such and such hardcore talking thing] I'll report every small thing I can find and then badger her until they are fixed. XD

Wow, really? XDD Lol, that is weird!!

Bartuc: LOL. then would you mind pestering Jelly to update the staff list?
:D Some of the staff usernames have changed, last I saw Wishie's username was still listed as Wish04. n__n And Mama Juru isn't Mama Juru.
lul I just didn't want to report it or pester the staff about it...but I mean hey if your goal is to pester Jelly, pester her for me? bwaha.

The Teal 01-25-2011 08:12 PM

I haven't had the chance to use it yet. I am prepared to use it though. Watch out spammers!

Imaginative Sarah 01-27-2011 10:32 PM

I always ignore people on the internet now..so I never have use for it. haha :3

Chickie Nuggs 01-28-2011 08:32 PM

I don't report things often. I believe I've only ever done it a few (maybe 4 at max) times. The last report I made was just to merge some threads because a new user was REALLY new to how forums work. No huge problem. :lol: The report before that was because of some rude and insulting undertones being used in the AC. It wasn't out of hand, but I reported just to prevent the chance of it getting out of hand. No infractions or anything were desired, but I merely hoped that a mod would talk to the person. :P Older reports of mine were probably about spamming, I don't know, but usually I just try to hint out to the person about spamming. (When I was new, I was oblivious to it and got an infraction for replying with an emote, so I just try to help newbies out. :rofl: )

ReineDeLaSeine14 02-03-2011 02:57 PM

I just used it for the second time. I just reported a begging post and went to post a reply asking the poster not to do that but then I noticed the thread was locked. Oops. My first time I had reported an obvious spam post.

I can see where people would accidentally hit "report" instead of "reply". I have almost done it myself especially when I was new (my vision sucks) and would try to hit the "quote" button.

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2011 06:27 PM

Honestly... no... I don't normally report... I talk to the user and tell them how they can fix the problem. Usually it's misquotes and such... however if they don't or can't figure out how yes I report them and kindly ask the mod to quote them =)

I prefer to put as little strain on the staff as I can... since if I can fix it without staff intervention, they can work on more important matters.

Blkmage Disaster 02-09-2011 03:43 AM

Frankly, I don't have to use it much here. Which I'm grateful, cause there's no need for it. The mods are usually on it fast, when it comes to forums anyway. Now on another site, it's sad. I don't think many people report for flaming, trolling and the like there. :(

They just either assume it is being handled, or assumes another user has reported already. It seems to me that this person just gets away with trolling and flaming people. Really, I'm sick of it there. It makes me appreciate the hard work that the mods do here, than they do there. You know what I mean?

wtf?

why'd you rape your enter key so many times? Seriously, writing in poetry isn't cute. (2 days ago)

No.

But your suspicion after my multiple times at saying that I am an open person, but hate the fakes and those who shove down their thinking into my throat makes me believe that you are a fake. (3 hours ago)
Seriously, that makes me mad when nothing is being done.
I'm just glad I don't see this happen on menewsha, nearly at all.

Flaming_triforce 02-10-2011 02:05 AM

I haven't so far as I am still getting familiar with the site and what should be reported. If I see something that should be I definitely will though :3

jellysundae 02-10-2011 10:01 PM

Blkmage Disaster: I'm interested as to why you think those comments that you posted are infraction-worthy? They're just someone being forceful in their opinion, nothing more :)

Sometimes, I feel that people are veering towards thinking that flaming, harassment and trolling is people just disagreeing or being less than nice, which of course isn't the case.

Blkmage Disaster 02-10-2011 10:20 PM

I guess I found them a bit harsh. I probably mistook it as flaming, which I tend to do when reading these things.
Also when I read statements of negativity it just rubs me the wrong way.

Just me and my sensitivity. ;n;
Even if it's not toward me.

I'm just glad not many is negative in their posts, at least here.

IMO, they're a little more than a forceful opinion, because they are essentially attacking the user, by saying "you are a fake." Which is different from saying, "I don't really like fakes, they suck." Does that make sense? :3
But, I don't think it's worth an infraction unless they routinely act and speak to other users like that.

...xD I know you weren't asking me, but that's how I see it.

Chickie Nuggs 02-10-2011 11:44 PM

Menewsha has it's rare amount of trolls here and there who act stupid, but that's something else. This site really doesn't have anyone who qualifies as a "cyber-bully". I've always seen Mene as a place where we can all be cool with each other, but in a place like the AC there are going to be people who will not sugar coat their opinions. Sometimes they are more than blunt with their statements, but I'd rather have someone be real with me than to praise me.

I don't know about anyone saying others are fake, but if that's how they feel then that's how they feel and if they aren't afraid to say what they feel then one can't help that. There will always be people like that who see no problem in telling how they see it. If you aren't "fake" then why take offense to it? Why is it so hard to just ignore and move on? I know that not everyone takes things the same way on the internet, but it still baffles me that there are individuals so sensitive that they take what a stranger says to heart.

monstahh` 02-11-2011 03:22 AM

I'm just saying that I would consider it trolling/flaming or simply attacking another user, especially if they're persistent about it. :?

I'm NOT saying I want people to lie about what they think of me, but I do feel some things don't need to be said. :|
