I think, if it aint broke don't fix it. There's no need to save so much gold unless you want to buy stuff from the WHOLE store....if you don't get all the items then it's no biggie because they'll just appear in the shops.
Personally, I really hope you don't change things, I love how theres so much stuff in the stores, it's like christmas! I think it's one of the best things of the event. However, I did think in the last event that 1,500g for the wings was a bit much. Maybe there can be a cap on the maximum price an item in the event commons store can be - maybe a max of 750g or something? I have more of a problem with the price of the event rares. So I think leave the store as is. |
i think event commons are fine being half priced and also if the number of items was lowered i think it would help with people spending all their gold.
i love the event commons being half price because its like a sale that the stores never have xD |
I really wish we could use "tokens" from posting on the event threads as credit toward the event shop... I loved that during the PJ event this year... >.>
|
(ok xD finally on page 5)
yes, i guess keyori got it all in a nutshell, and very eloquently put. i do fine on normal items sold all the time, but most people on here love the CI's, EI's and all that good stuff. I'm trying to think of them, and i think they really don't want to spend that much money either! who really just spends 20 or 30k on here without really considering and thinking about this? i mean, i do it on gaia all the time, but thats because i'm a jerk and i think gaia's got a little economy problem goin' on xD |

I think the only full common 'set' I ever got (during the event) was the gumball bracelet set. The only other one has been nero's robes, most of which I obtained after the original release since I wasn't a member when they first came about. |
I only like the forest in the aspect that it is quick easy earning that makes you go back to it because you know it's quick and easy. I hardly have the time to play the games here on Menewsha (though most of them are highly amusing, they take too long to reach the max) And spending is just as important as earning, because the less people spend, the harder it is for some to earn anything, since they gain from selling CI's and EI's from past events and months.
You could certainly create a game that is more than click spamming, and I think many would be amused with a Pokemon like game ;D (gotta catch them all!) Heh. Well, I can't really broaden the idea, since I am not that creative when thinking out loud to people I can't see >.<;; |
Yeah, if it were more than clickyspam, I'd be more open to the idea. What I did like about the forest was that I could use it multiple times a day. I don't really have that incentive here... I play until I'm tired of it and then I'm done, and I rarely hit the cap (even with the lower ceiling on earning).
I do like the games here, but there's only two I find very efficient (tetris and sardine smash--I used to do fangirls but I got tired of accidentally closing game sessions that weren't actually done yet :gonk:). Edit: Really, if anything changes about the games, I think I'd most appreciate allowing "infinite" games (like tetris or the helicopter game) to give you the maximum amount of gold if you earned enough points (instead of stopping at 50 or whatever the current cap is). But I think that can't be changed, at least for the older games. So, sad face. |
I like having all the commons during events and them being half off.
Maybe it's just because I'm most active on Mene during events, but it seems an easier way to release items. There isn't often shop updates, and when they are I usually miss them. o.o' Then I have no idea when something new is in. The half price just seems nice for everyone. I don't really think about gold horders or people that then spend all their gold. But it's sorta nice for everyone to have the chance, particularly newbies, to buy something nice to wear. |
i love harbor fishing, and i easily reach max on both the game cap and during actual gameplay. it depresses me xD
|
I liked when we were able to purchase items from the event store, with currency earned from posting ^^. It meant that I didn't have to hoard gold, and it encouraged participation in the event. I think participation is a huge bonus during the events. There seems to be an influx of people around those times, and hopefully their participation in the event means they want to stick around and become more active on Mene in the long run.

Especially because some of the contests I entered, you don't get the participation EIs until long after the event ends. I still haven't gotten a couple of mine. :/ |

What I hated about participation EI's was that it was difficult for me to keep track of what items I had asked for in which contests. I guess I should have written it down all in one place, but it was just kindof a pain to go back and track it down to figure out which items I still needed to ask for. The timing thing doesn't really bother me though.

I'm not going to respond to everything, as there's a lot of ideas flying around, but I did want to comment on a few (rather meaningless) points:

Please carry on. Some of your ideas so far are very interesting, but we have no way to do them right now. |
does this mean we never have any hope of event currency ever again? Is there just no way to do that without flash?

But it does need examining to see if it's possible with what resources we have right now. I would not expect it for Valentine's Day. I don't think there's time to look into it/tweak it to be possible. I think your best bet for now, really, is to find a staff-run game where you might win the new commons/rares for the event and get involved there. Then you get your items for free, the same as if you were earning event/store currency. |
Oh no I wasn't saying for this event I know were still in the "transition stage" I just think that with the old events it was no problem because you got a lot of what you wanted with the event monies (I know they didn't all have it but in the case when they did) and then it was pretty easy to finish them off at half price. So it was perfect. The events that WEREN'T free you got as much as you could and then there were just a few things that you would have to buy at full price later, or you could be lucky enough to find it in a shop from someone else, that is much more common with event commons (I've gotten to excited and bought one twice XD)
With the event with all re-colors I would think most people didn't need to buy as many because the item has already been around and if they liked it so much they already had it. But this last event had re-colors AND new items and it did drop me about 40k but I also bought LOTS and I budget responsibly so I could XD I think maybe less items would be okay just because I know were a bit short on pixel pixies and it would basically kill to birds with one stone I Feellike we can never have to many items and having them half price is amazing and awesome and wonderful and I'll be very sad that it goes away but if I ran out of money during the event then it's not a big deal, to buy it later. |
Random observation: It seems like the people who have been around longer favor fewer commons, and the people who have been here less want the same amount.
Maybe I'm wrong and I just don't recognize as many names in the "same amount" category because they're from parts of the site that I don't frequent, but eh. Make of it what you will ;D I wouldn't expect that to factor into any decision, but I wonder why that is? (Assuming I'm not wrong about the correlation) |
I've been here for a bit and voted stay the same, though I might speculate that those of us have been here a bit have a decent amount of inventory where newer people are attempting to build there's up though?
I have one question and I really don't mean to sound rude more curious: How would it help to make them full price rather then half? That just makes it more money over all and I thought this was people were saying the event was to expensive. Is it a line of thinking that if there full price it's no big deal and people will buy it whenever? |
I can somewhat understand the issue being addressed, but I would sorely miss getting commons at half-price. Perhaps limiting the number of items released each event would not be such a bad idea, since we do tend to get an awful lot of new items.
|
I've noticed that users are saving gold for commons now, instead of saving it to buy rares in the exchange. Which is sending gold out of the system. Full price commons would mean even more gold hoarding xD
Less commons, well people would complain. Can re-colours not be released durirng different updates? I mean, usually the items aren't even related to the event. I'd prefer to have Halloween themed/ related items at Halloween, not headbands and bustle bows. I do love those items, and I'm glad they were made, but they don't have much to do with Halloween, they could have been released at a different time maybe? Dx I hope what I'm trying to say is coming across. I'm not usually awake this early and my brain isn't working right! |
It will be more work for the Event coordinators and in general, but for participating in a thread everyone could get two to three commons of their choice or an event item.
|
EIs are already being given out for those who participate in stickied event threads, wish.
