oh, i get it.
like on gaia when you have to do like five hundred tasks to complete the quest for an item.
gottcha, thank you Jelly.
i was happy with the summer boardwalk event to be honest.

Codette 10-15-2011 04:50 PM

I can try... Example the last CP event, there where puzzles you had to answer. When you figured out the answer to the puzzle, you would have to go to a certain page on the forum (games, forums, spy page etc.), and there would be the Star Eater (ne of the characters connected to the 3 Goddesses) and when you clicked him, it would unlock one of the rares (If I remember right... someone correct me if I'm wrong). Also if we fed our extra stars (stars were the currency) to the Star Eater and he got enough of them we could get an extra rare.

EDIT: man thats what happens when it takes me forever to type stuff out.

jellysundae 10-15-2011 04:54 PM

Gaia's events are a bit rediculous with the amount of effort required to gain just one event item, CK always tried to be as fair as possible with the time needed to gain things. We know that there's always some people *coughSeitocough* who will get a metric ton of event items because they're demon posters, plus people at the other end of the spectrum who maybe don't manage even one set because they're lurkers/not on much. But we try very hard to cater for the middle ground so for the vast majority there isn't a shortage or a surfit of EIs.

There's always people who bitch, saying it isn't fair because they couldn't get a full set. We do try to explain to people that if we made it so people who had limited net access could gain a full set, then the people who were on more would gain a huge amount, the site would be flooded with the items, and they'd be worthless for ever more. But, yeah :ninja: in general the complainer won't listen.

hummy 10-15-2011 05:29 PM

yep, i totally agree.
five hundred of whatever's for one event item turned me off even more.
if the game was fun and i had time, then maybe but still O.o five hundred?????
and well yeah you can never make everyone happy and even if you did you would have someone say something negative about it just to be heard.

Cora 10-15-2011 05:58 PM

cora always knows its her problem, not yours when time constraints make her unable to complete sets and stuff. but.....cora isn't the usual bitchy person you see o.0

jellysundae 10-16-2011 12:41 AM

Nope, you're not

Maria-Minamino 10-16-2011 02:00 AM

I feel like at one point it was easier to get EIs here because the event currency needed per item was lower. But I think it was smart to increase that amount so that people gained less sets so that they weren't so....deflated when being sold. Take those Easter Eggs for instance...I have tons of them but they aren't valued at anything so I doubt I will ever be able to sell them.

Bearzy 10-16-2011 04:15 AM

Their value is slowly going up. Like when they first came out we couldn't give them away, but now they go for maybe 5g each. I've even seen a few go for 20g.

Nephila 10-16-2011 06:15 PM

heh only cuz I've been buying them to give away in my "egg the newbie Charity" I'm working on. I laugh at the people that think they'll get 100 for them though.

Cora 10-16-2011 06:17 PM

100g for eggs that most people GIVE away is laughable.

jellysundae 10-16-2011 06:46 PM

The eggs are my fault  I miscalculated with regard to those. If we ever got more active members the value of those would start to rise! There's a lot of very cute items in those eggs, there's just too many of them.

Nephila 10-16-2011 07:02 PM

I agree. They would go up if we had more people around.

Speaking of... Do you guys have a press kit or some kind of posters I could post up at one of our local cons? I've been thinking about dong an art table for myself at one or two of them and I wouldn't mind giving you guys some free table space. Even hanging some random posters. I think it would be cool to get some more people from my city on here.

jellysundae 10-17-2011 12:11 AM

That would be awesome! But I doubt very much that we have  I know they used a Powerpoint presentation or similar at Momocon but I have no idea what else there might be, so I'd suggest asking CK and seeing what she and Omi take to cons with them, she'd hopefully be able to supply you with something :ninja:

CK 10-18-2011 12:40 AM

Omi would be the one with the files. :B I just stole half of the business cards she made and hand them out when Menewsha comes up in conversations or when I go someplace that might bring users. (But it totally wasn't me who dropped a few around DisneyWorld. If it ever comes up.)

Nephila 10-18-2011 03:07 AM

lol. *imagines CK in a long trench coat and dark glasses with a large stack of papers on top of Epcot center* LET THE WIND SPREAD THE WORD MAUHAHAHAHAAA!

That's illegal now isn't it?

Jack MacGaven 10-18-2011 06:32 AM

I think it would be awesome if the staff would release some posters/business cards for users to print out and hang it around, where ever. (as long as it is legal, of course)
Or maybe hold a contest to stay out of the costs?

But it's gotten totally off topic here.

It's just that money is so tight everywhere right now. I haven't gotten to contribute here in ages, it seems. Even as affordable as the CI's are - groceries and bills come first. And when people in general have to cut back on 'extras' - it shows up down the money chain like this.

At any rate, my own situation seems like it's becoming more stable, so in theory I'll be able to contribute again soon. At least the extra time until next Celes period on the calendar means I should be ready for it. I wouldn't have been, what with everything going on at home. This year has been tough all around, no time for anything, no money for anything, no fun. XP

That would be awesome! :)

I wouldn't mind if some magically appeared at my front door. I would try to see if my young adults librarian or children's (well the anime loving librarian) would give them out to the teens. Although I think there is some type of protocol with that. :S I am sure they wouldn't mind handing them out if I explain to them about the community and if they get approval from via administrative.

As to Celes Paradi, it would be awesome when the event comes. I hadn't experienced one yet. :D!

hummy 11-10-2011 09:14 PM

me either.
i love how menewsha runs their events.
i'd be happy with a non-coded Celes Paradis
*if it is possible*
i would love to know what the event currency would be.

Nephila 11-10-2011 10:58 PM

Yes even a non coded Celes Paradi would be most welcome. I don't see how they could sit on items for so long. It would drive me crazy (er) I think it would probably be like stars, or moons.

CK 11-11-2011 03:23 AM

My heart died a thousand deaths when I realized we'd run out of time to hold Celes Paradi. ::laughs:: We had something very special in mind for Celes Paradi as a coded event, but I suppose if it's not possible next year to hold it that way, we'll do it as we have been.

me either, Neph.
i would burst holding on to the items for so long.
i'm the kind of person who buys an early Christmas gift for someone and gives it way before Christmas because i'm so excited to give it!

Nephila 11-11-2011 10:03 PM

lol me too. I get so excited to see their face. Especially if it's something I know they'd really like.

If its not able to be held in the way you had in mind. and the items end up used on a non-coded event. Will we be allowed to know what the theme would have been?
