Yes, smilies earn you gold. That's why you have to be careful not to spam with them. :yes:

It's great to throw a couple smilies into conversations. I probably use that nodding one the most! Just make sure you don't over do it. You wouldn't type out the same word a billion times in a row, so there's no point in posting a dozen smilies all at the same time. ;)

And since we're talking about the smilies on Mene, I'll go right ahead and move this over to the Community Discussion forum for you.

I don't use smilies. I use the Quick Response option and I don't have most of the command for the smilies memorized.

I like :gonk: tho.

I've never really put too much thought into the smiles before. I generally make up my own like :< and ~~^^^^*< (you never know when you're going to need an alligator) But as for the Mene Smiles I do like the :sarcasm: one.

I probably use :) the most, because it's simple. Closely followed by :cry: , :yes: and :XD

I also use :) the most because it's so easy. I used to do text-based emotes, but I ever since we got the new smilies I started using them since they're so cute.

Gosh, I use smilies a lot! Aside from the standard smile, I often use :(, :lol:, :yes:, :sweat:, ;), :gonk:, and :drool:. Occasionally I'll use the others, but I definitely use the one's above the most. Oh! And I use the :heart: emote sometimes too, but typically I'll stick to <3.

@Elluh: I love those sorts of text emotes! :lol: But I'm not really willing to take the time to copy paste them from somewhere into all of my posts.

And I forgot about the ninja emote! I use that too. :ninja:

I use the ninja one a lot xD I find the lack of emotes when sending text messages annoying! I'm so used to being able to use xD and so on to convey a feeling. I worry that if I use that on my sister (who's 11 years younger than me) that she won't know what it is :lol:

I forget about a lot of ours, and am suprised anew, when I see them used, by their cuteness. I probably use the laughing on a lot, drool is very useful, as is :insane: that one always makes me laugh to be honest, because it looks so mental!

I hardly use smiles on Mene because I use the quick reply too and don't remember them. If I do use them I use the :), :drool:, and :P ones most.

I usually use Quick Reply too but I know :) and ;) off by heart, some of the other ones are kind of tiring to add on but they add a lot of character and color to your responses. I constantly find myself getting lost when reading long posts ( especially in the Roleplaying forum) so I use the smiles ( and sometimes the colored text) to help re locate myself. :)

I also love inventing new ones like owl; '0v0' I also like using o-0 a lot because it reminds me of a panda for some reason.

SMILIES FTW! I wish there would be a thing where you can design your own smilie and use it. I suppose the base would just be a circle but using it is another story. I dun wanna put [img][/img*] over everything
