April Fools is not traditionally not a large event. Last year was an exception. The next "large" event is Easter/Phoenix Jubilee (traditionally it's one or the other but we're not sure if the Phoenix Orchid is gonna bloom or not which is what usually prevents PJ ).

i simply don't see us able to do a mini event.
it was really had doing just the one thread, for me at least.
but i will support what you all do.

it really takes a lot to keep the thread moving.
i mean people are always here to win prizes,
but to keep it going is really a lot of work.

Trust me I know what you mean. But it can be done if everyone is dedicated to it. But in all hummy it is your brainchild so if you want to hold off then thats what should be done.

so we had people in the thread to do games with
and give prizes away to.

i know Seito-san is still working on doing the prizes from the monster hunt, as well.

i just don't want to get in over our heads.
i won't have as much time since i have puppie-to-be-named-later.
she is a handful and i need to keep my eyes on her so she doesn't chew something she shouldn't.

Okay... to address a couple things cause it's clear that you guys are still discussing.

1) If it's one huge thread, that's no big deal. It's no different then a contest/giveaway thread so it'll go into that forum.

2) If you want an actual event (subforum, separate threads, etc), you need to read this. You don't meet all the requirements at the present moment though and you need to scramble to get that done if you're serious about it.

Oh, also, well if you do go the user-event route, I strongly suggest that you do not name it Valentine's Day (or anything along those lines). Your Random Acts of Kindness is probably a good enough name.

Also if you want to go the user-event route, you need to change the gears quickly as 1 thread is different than an event. So probably best to decide by today because there's more to do for a user-event. (Fees need to be paid, you need to shift your planning, etc)

Wow I really hate that our plans have changed like this
I really wished we could do a mini event
The fees isnt a problem, I would have been able to pay the fees
but it just feel like it will be over whelming you know
Mostly for hummy and the staff and what not
and I really cant handle all that pressure

Just looking at the fees overwhelms me so....

Maybe just keep this for next event...

Or switch gears and open the thread in nations or someplace else and make it like a...newbie charity during the recruitment drive. Not a charity so much but all the newbies welcomed during the drive could come to our thread and play the games, post, win prizes, etc, it just won't be VDAY themed anymore.

Well if it is something you gals decide to do i want you to know that i was saveing up the 4k to build a charity on my mule because i wanted to help the community but this is as good a cause as any and my chance to help so i will donate 1k-4k as needed to open your own event thread just give me a pm and i will do what i can to help.

That's really sweet Akio! <333 thank you for the offer! I think it's ultimately up to hummy to decide since this is techinically her charity/giveaway we are promoting.

BUT one of the rules is that we pay the fees a month in advance....I'm not sure we would get accepted since this is probably starting in less than a month...

Okay maybe no user-run event, we don't have the time put into already, and like Seito said we'd have to rush to pull things together in time. If it's easier for hummy, we can just have a Random Acts of Kindness thread for the recruitment drive, and anyone of us hostess' who wants to participate can? I really REALLY want to do some kind of thread, cause I have all sorts of stuff for the raffle. I'm okay with several of us sticking together instead of splitting into different threads, even if it won't be for an official Vday event thread. What are everyones thoughts?

Hrm... just to clarify.

It's not so much of a huge rush but rather you need to make several decisions and quite fast. It's not something you can take a week to decide upon. Especially if you're targeting around vday time.

See from the general looks of things you have all of the second half of the planning done (gathering of prizes, contests/games, etc) but your first half as far as user-event go (clearing it with staff, set dates, paying of fees, need to decide if you want a subforum, a banner, art, etc) They're generally small things, but as a group you need to be all on the same page.

You are quite welcome and ya it is up to hummy i know i think whatever you all decide is the right thing to do for sure nobody should be stressed about because that wouldnt be good but anything i can do let me know none the less you gals have worked so freaking hard busting your tuchies all over the site ive seen it and would like to see something come out of it if it is what you want okay.

i think we can still keep the valentine's day theme going.
since the recruitment event would still be happening around valentine's day.
if we all stick together i can still do it,
but if we all split up i feel it would be too much on me, at least.
it was really a lot of work for the festival of winter nights.

Hummy you your amazing that it a lot of post but you dont have to work that hard nor do the others want you to i dont think. They are behind you to help ease the work load between you all so i think you and them will be fine.

well, i had posted a lot due to the posting contest.
instead of having to go back and check the posts,
i just posted along with them.
it was way easier to check the post counts that way.
plus the thread would not be as active so the ladies didn't have as many people to play games with.
it was all done with love.

I am sure it was miss hummy. Man i am getting tired i think i am going to try to sneak a nap.
