They were having fun, I was getting upset. They were having more fun. I was getting more upset. They had even more fun at my expense by having the thing that was upsetting me harass me further.

Lots of things go on behind the scenes that you are probably not aware of. The staff here work very hard and do it out of love for the people on the site and the site itself. There are times when we have no choice but to test things out live to see how they will look, and quite frankly we are not going to ask user permission to do this or provide notice if we are testing something in the moment.

Yes, we like having fun, and our intent is to do so in a lighthearted manner but not at the expense of an individual user. We don't target people to harass. We harass everyone equally and by that I mean if we pull a prank or make a change, it will affect everyone, not just a single user. If we really wanted to troll you individually I guarantee we could do a much better job. I'm sorry that you felt his responses were inappropriate and harassing but it was all is fun. I'm even more sorry that you failed to see the humor in it.

Unfortunately, however, we cannot please everyone. There is always going to be people who do not like the changes we make, whether they are real changes to improve the site or just tongue in cheek things that go on. Constructive criticism is always welcomed, however I have to say, a stroppy two year old style tantrum is not.
We take all suggestions and feedback and try to utilize it for the better of the community at large, not to pacify one single person.

This was something that lasted 1 HOUR, something that I have heard many others upset over the fact that they missed it and were unable to participate in a sitewide flashmob type activity. It was not directed at you, it was something that EVERYONE experienced. I'm sorry you feel it was done to bother you, it was not intended as such.

Here are some answers for you: Afrodonkey lighthearted prank, where everyone has the same overlay on their avatar. It did not remove your current items off your avatar, it did not create any permanent damage, and Jelly had nothing to do with this. She just joined in the fun that many others were having as a result of it. The other Mods had nothing to do with this, again had fun as a result. AJ and Poet are acting on their own. In fact Poet has on many occasions voiced his complaints about something that was pulled off, he has always done it in a mature and civilized manner.

We could have done a Gaia move and kept it up as part of an "event" were we sell an item that allows you change back. Anyone else remember those "pranks" Gaia pulled for money? We didn't because we don't enjoy treating our members in a such a manner. We don't take advantage of you here, we try to make it a fun place. During the Afrodonkey scene there were a few things others had done; disable graphics so all images could not be seen, turn off the site for a short period of time, or staying away from more active threads as to stay out of some of the resulting chaos.. I'm sorry you didn't have fun during this impromptu happening. It ended quickly after it started, and it is over and done.

It also seems that the three people are lurkers.

I don't understand how one can get upset when they are not really an active member of the community.
Sure, they may come everyday to "check on things," but when they don't actually post, and choose to lurk? That's not being active, to me.

I hate to be the burnt bread, the unpopular opinion against you, but this is my opinion.
I understand you stated your opinion, but it's unfair when you lurk and expect everyone to bend to your will.

Do I feel bad that you felt harassed? Actually, yes. But a lot of the threads that I see you make are all about complaining about stuff you don't like, when you just lurk.

And the first answer I got couldn't simply have been "We're just working on something."?

It's great that you sugar coat it and all and go so far as to insult me by calling my reaction "A stroppy two year old style tantrum". But why couldn't I just get a simple answer like that? What's so hard about that? Why do I have to deal with harassment and trolling, and it was harassment and trolling don't even try to pretend that was anything else, by whoever you have playing that afrodonkey character?

Using "it's just his personality" like some did is not an excuse. It's a character being played by an actual person and they made the choice to harass me. If I wanted to Roleplay with made up characters, I'd stick to the Roleplaying section of the site.

To make this perfectly clear; I didn't actually care at all that the characters had been changed temporarily to rainbow afrodonkey things. A gimmick is a gimmick I can ignore.

The harassment was the RESPONSES of your Afrodonkey gimmick, harassing me constantly to the point of following up with throwing me a "friend" invite which in and of itself is not harmless considering the situation.
I made it clear I wanted nothing to do with the character or the person playing the character and they go so far to harass me even further by 'befriending' me? Because giggle-giggle that should be funny, lets be friends after I've clearly upset you. For a joke? A good bit of fun? A little prank?

Excuse me if I'm not laughing my guts up at this thing you seem to find so hilarious. I was a little busy being aggravated and provoked, having a temper tantrum as you so consider it.

I'm going to add more into this, because I'm still feeling insulted again reading this. I'm trying to be active on the forums, I'm not a lurker. I've made a few posts in the Gaming, General, Manga, Music, and Role-play forums. I had a valid complaint that something like that was painful to me that I had to leave. Then I was a called a child over it. How I did it wasn't the proper way, I understand but do not just insult people over it. That's where the major issue to me is. It's not so much the joke, that's great, have a laugh, but after I said I was going to leave to play something so I could avoid the headache inducing avatar, I came back to see I was called a child over it. How is that okay to do when all I did was saying I didn't like it and I was going to head off til it was over?

Oh dear, did I strike a nerve? It isn't exactly hard to call out some-one like you. You seem to think you're special enough that you can get away with saying and doing whatever you want, the admins certainly don't seem to take notice of your obvious attempts at enflaming the situation.
