Where is everyone?
On Gaia you become so used to the large communtiy that you expect there to be millions of humans on. Yet here it's the opposite, which is fairly awesome. It makes everything so less chaotic. So,
Do you enjoy the quietness of Menewsha? Does this allow you to check out other forums or other parts of the site? Your favorite thing about Menewsha? |
It's not so much the quietness i like, but the friendliness. I would like more topics to post in, but i dont really mind.
I 've only recently taken to exploring other parts of the site i dont usualy go to. I'd have to say my favourite thing about Mene is the general atmosphere. |
You're right. It is much more friendly here. If I became on newbie on Gaia I would be eaten alive. :D I'm glad it's nicer here.
|
This is a quiet time of the day on here anyway, as a lot of the members are in America, but as the site is growing daily even quiet time numbers will increase.
Soon enough there will always be someone around for you to talk to 8) |
I think it's great.
I'm friends with tons of people, and I know even more. It means that we get to know each other. And even though I've only been on here for 2 months, I have more friends that what I ever had on gaia. And I've been on gaia for 2 years. It also makes everything easier I feel. With such a small community, everyone knows everyone. P.s. And it makes it so much easier for newbies. They don't get eaten alive on here. I would hate to have to be a newbie on gaia. |
I totally love everything about Menewsha.
I joined Gaia on 01/04 and it was a lot different back then than what it has now become. It's just grown into too big a place. I don't think Menewsha will ever face such problems. At least I hope we never lose the "small town" feel even though as Rando said, we continue to grow everyday. |
I personally enjoy the quietness, but I don't mind seeing newbie's come, it's fun to see the community grow. ^_^;;
I do have like, a bunch of friends, which I think is great to see such friendly and fun people here. |
I like that Mene is smaller, but I keep finding myself at a loss for what to say. xD
It's easier to chat on large communities, because there's so many people there. |
I like how small it is; and I love feeling like I'm actually part of a community rather than just a face in the crowd. I, too, have ventured into other areas that I don't typically go to on sites like this, it's kind of refreshing. The atmosphere is wonderful and everyone is so friendly (yet I still get anxious talking to some people, I'm silly like that, I think everyone is going to hate me for some reason XD).
I usually hang out in the Art Shops thread (Auctions & Request subforums too) but I've started to post some in General Discussion which I've never done before. =3 |
Everywhere I go here, I tend to be the last one that posts in a thread for a long time. I guess it's the time period that I am on in, but, no one seems to be around for me. It gets kinda lonely... :?

I know that feeling too, heh. My main times on are during the day (EST time) when most people are probably at work/school/different time zone sleeping. It tends to move slow; but at least that gives me an excuse to work on art and not be (as) distracted by this. Kukuku~~ |

Do you enjoy the quietness of Menewsha?
Yes, I do. Like you said, I agree. It IS less chaotic in Menewsha. Does this allow you to check out other forums or other parts of the site? Well, I don't know. Isn't it the same thing? Even if its overloaded, you can still check out forums and other parts of the site. But I think I get what you're saying, so yes, it is a lot easier to check out forums without them having posts keep coming in and overloading the thread. xD Your favorite thing about Menewsha? Well, I really love everything about this site. 8) They did an awesome job on this, and its only a few months old. My extreme favorite thing I guess would be the cute adorable pixels. Their donation items are awesome. Also the community is so nice and polite. We're all so use to each other around, or we meet and make friends with people around here. :) |
I love the quietness of this site. I always check the main forums as Community Discussion, Announcements, Suggestions, and the Information Desk. The best part of this site is the community. I have tons of friends here, on Gaia, the people are just ignore me.
|
I'll be the odd one out and say I really don't like the quietness of Mene, or the slow pace of it's forums. I'd much rather prefer if there were a few more members to keep things alive and moving, and create new topics.
I'm really used to Gaia which probably is part of the reason I'm so frustrated here. Also, I'm used to lurking in different topics so coming here and seeing that there's maybe two new threads total versus yesterday is pretty disappointing. I've also always been fond of hiding in big crowds, even in real life. As long as I'm not the center of attention, I love being in a large group of people. So when I get here on Mene, it's small and I don't like it all that much. But I like the forums and the ideas, so I'm hoping that Mene will grow. That or I'll become more accustomed to Mene's size. |
Actually I find the slowness of Menewsha to be a bit annoying. not to say that I want it as fast as some areas of Gaia... But I often find myself sitting around waiting to see if anyone posts anything... then leaving... coming back later that day and noticing very little has happened... Not very exciting...
|
Yeah, in a way, I do like the quietness on Menewsha, because it's possible to actually have a conversation with people without having the thread suddenly jump five pages within a few minutes. It's easy to keep up with posts, which is what I like about the slowness.
However, sometimes, it does get a bit annoying when I run out of places to post in. But overall, I think the size of Menewsha right now is pretty good, as there are enough people online at a time to always have someone to talk to, yet it isn't so crowded that it's impossible to keep track of threads. |
It's not the quietness, it's the calming atmosphere for me.
Gaia was for me..kind of hecktic. .__. |
I like the quite, family-like feeling Mene has. (It reminds me of the subtle country side of Cuba =3 )
Although, I do get bord once in a while, this place is awsome, and so is Gaia..... although, it's getting a bit hecktic for me, so I just stay in my usual forums and guilds. o3o; |
I like the calmness, but it's hard to break my Gaian lurker habits, so I end up lurking in the same threads over and over, and then getting bored.
When I do post though, it's always fun. I don't think anyone here is mean that I know of. I'm always impressed by the way that most people seem to know eachother as friends on a first-name basis, instead of one random person from a crowd of random people. |

Which is usually 70 to 100 people out of 7K+ of people. XP |
I have to say, I do much enjoy the quietness of Mene, even though I'm so used to larger forums where there will be thousands of people on every second of the day. It's nice to have this atmosphere where you know just about everyone (or at least have seen them around and know who they are), and it's nice to continually bump into the same people in many of the threads you look into, because they post a lot and you post a lot, and it's just nice.
But every so often I do think that it would be nice if this site were bigger, not that I really have to worry about it since it'll be big soon enough, since it's getting pretty popular. xP But I'm sure once this small forum feel goes away, it'll be missed by the majority of the members (and probably myself as well), and we'll probably all remember the old days just like a lot of people do on the larger sites. xD It's all good though~ |
I'm hoping that Mene gets a little busier!
Membership number are rising steadily, but the number online rarely gets much above 100, so it seems like we have a core of dedicated regulars, then 7000 others who are either bots or not bothering to come back once they've signed up, which is sad :( |
The smaller community feel.
But i know as we grow that will change, and hopefully all the older members stay. I know I plan too. |
It's not that quiet around here. It's semi-quiet. Which is a good thing. It's not too busy, but it's not so small that nothing ever happens. I wouldn't mind if it got more busy around here. I doubt it will get smaller before it got bigger. If that makes sense. xD
