Wow.. I really don't like playing Cards.
Earning gold here on Menewsha is a very slow process and I thought "Hey maybe I'll get lucky and double some of my gold by playing cards"... 10 short seconds later I am 10 gold poorer.. Can't there be a game with better odds? I don't mean to nag but.. come on.. that's my gold that Goth lady took! ARGH!
Have you had any positive experiences playing cards here on Menewsha? and Do you think there should be easier ways to earn gold? If so, what ways would you get gold? Possibly a part time job system or different games, like Pachinko. |
When i first joined, (with an account that became my mule) i spent ages earning 200 gold. Only to loose it all to the cards xD.
Since then i've only played once and bet 1 gold. I won. Typical. Its definetly not a game i'd recomend. |

I much prefered decender when you could earn gold from that. Aleast you didnt loose it all the time.
I'm thinking mabey a game with a spinning wheel where you place gold on and it doubles, triples takes some off kind of game, might be nice. |
Yeah, A game like Wheel of fortune wouldn't be bad. It would be more exciting too. With more chances and variety, it would be great..

i think the only site I've ever been on where it was actually easy to earn money stuff was neopets. but i got banned from neopets two years ago for saying a word that i didnt at the time know was a bad word. it seems like all these sites keep having problems with the games and shutting them down and stuff!! it's so annoying too!!

I think the cards game is there to try and put people off gambling! You nearly always lose, and when people don't they can't seem to quit when they're ahead, they'll just carry on and bet all that they've won and lose that..
a lesson to be learned there i think. It's actually just as easy to earn gold here as it is on Gaia..If you think that you can make around 500 gold a day there before you stop getting anything for posting, and you can earn 500 gold a day here if you find things you want to talk about, some people can earn 1000 gold a day here, they obviously talk a lot though! :shock: |

I only played the card game once - luckily, all I had was 30 gold to my name to begin with. But after cards, I was down to 2! So I decided never to use firefox again so I wouldn't be tempted and it's been the right decision.
When Descender paid out, I admit, I got close to 200g/game. I'm really good at those types of games and using my tablet pen instead of my mouse gave me even more control over it. So gold earning was really easy for me back then. (How I miss Descender's payouts! lol) Now, I just interact more around the forums and lately, have rediscovered my love for writing and storytelling (and maybe soon, RPing!). I don't do it to earn gold, but that's a nice side effect. ;) It's mostly the talking to people that does it for me... |
Well, I've always found it not too difficult but not to easy to earn gold on mene. Which I like. It's nice and even.
I'm guessing you've only joined Gaia recently. There once was a time earning gold was a complete ad total bitch. When I joined, there back in jan of 05, I only had fishing to do to try and earn money, and that's lucky compared to people who were there the year and half before, where all they had was posting. So, this is not Gaia, so earning gold should not be the same way. Because it's not Gaia. |

I tried the card game once - I didn't like it but I don't see how it's unfair. It's just like real gambling in Vegas or Atlantic City. In roulette you put your money down on a number or color and if you don't get that number or color they take your money. No control over it because once the ball spins you can't change your mind. :o

Well to be honest with you, its one of the fairest ways to have a game currently. Descender used to give you lots of gold, until people learned how to exploit it to get massive amounts of pure.
And the reason behind it being the fairest game is that it is a 50-50 chance of you either winning or losing. If you are upset with losing, never bet more than you are willing to lose. Its gambling, and if you can understand the basic concepts of gambling, you'll understand the concepts of the card game. As for gaining gold, find a key group of people that you can easily have a conversation with and you'll gain gain it much quicker than through trying to play a game you know you could lose on. |

Black jack is one of my favorites though, no matter what I always won enough tickets that sold way more than I lost. I also liked fishing in Gaia, I hear they're programming a game around fishing. I hope we can enjoy this.. and probably make a community based around that game, that would be awesome. Well unique games exclusive to Menewsha, at the moment the gold process is perfect for a fresh start. |

It's a text based game, so it's not anything like Gaia fishing. n.n; Too bad some of the Menewsha haters on Gaia who call Menewsha the "Gaia-Knockoff" well just get their kicks saying we're even more of a knockoff anyways. =P Sad kids really. |

Yeah, basically anything that resembles.. or semi-resembles something else
would be considered a cheap knock off. But honestly I don't really like how the avies in gaia look. I hope Mene can grow past that, and hopefully have it's own unique things to offer. |
I personally despise cards. I was once an addict who gained and lost a fortune to it.
Nowadays I really just don't like it at all. Avoid it. xD; As for goldmaking, it is rather slow, to be honest, but at least it is fair and set. |
Well, there are times when you get lucky in there, I only play it every 2 days then bet 100-50g every morning.
I noticed that whenever it's morning over here *Philippine time* the 1st card is always right O.o; |
Normally if you bet 100 gold out of 1k
you'll end up with zero eventually, that's how bad the odds are |
