There is a difference between harmful hoarding and standard hoarding.

Say, for example, a user spends a great deal of money with donations to Menewsha, and say, has ten pairs of each the Panda Slippers and the Bee Slippers.

That user paid for the items. So in a sense, it's earned hoarding - even if the user doesn't sell them, that sort of hoarding doesn't affect Menewsha's economy.

Now. Say a user had a massive amount of gold, and then bought LOTS of Bee Slippers and Panda Slippers - say the same 10 pairs of each.

That user then keeps the items to him/herself and doesn't circulate them in the economy at all. That, in short, depraves the economy of 20 items that should be in circulation, and in that sense, it causes wrong and artificial inflation for the items.

Currently, Menewsha's economy has been balanced out a great deal, especially with Aeris's ongoing V-Day/Crown auction, which is circulating those once impossible to obtain items back into the system at very low and affordable prices.

As members, you are welcome to do with your account and items as you wish, however, it is strongly encouraged that you keep items circulating in Menewsha's economy and keep the economy strong and friendly for all of the users who use it. ^_^

I used to hoard. ^_^;; I had four V-day hairpins and anywhere between 75-80 sets of CIs.

But I gave them away when I thought I was going to quit, now I'm deciding to stay. I'm just trying to get one of each item since I know I won't get my old wealth back.

• I have a few extras of the scepters and cloaks, because I used to be more active here, and made enough gold a month to afford a few extras to save. I also have a few random extra newer donation items that I won from contests.
  
  However, recently, I haven't been as active on Menewsha, especially because of school, and have hardly been making enough gold to afford just one CI set per month. Also, I don't have a job, as I'm in high school, so I can't donate to Menewsha. So... it would be pretty hard for me to hoard items.

My Hoarding days is over. I just sold most of my Hoarded scepters a few days ago. XD
Now I'm the "Get each of everything" person.

so i am slowly trying to get some gold.
but having issues.
i hope they put something else for us to make gold better.

The most i do is by one set for me, one to keep, and one to sell. Maybe and extra one too sell.
Also, when I do sell I try and sell cheaply and if it was a rare item, to someone who has been questing for it. I usually let other do auctioning themselves.

Oh man, I know I'm gonna end up hoarding stuff. XD I always do on websites like these. I have tons of stuff on my Gaian account I hardly use, but I keep with the reasoning, "You never know! I might use it someday!"

That and I love having a huge inventory of clothing to choose from.

I've never really been a hoarder on other sites, so I don't think I'll do it here... unless I get rich pretty quickly. Then I'll just keep extras of items for use in auctions or anything else at a later time. XD I love getting art. ^_^

IRL I collect I don't really "hoard". On sites I don't see a point to hoarding, I only buy what I like and what I wear. I think it's just the cheapness in me that won't let me spend lots of money on stuff I won't use XD

I would rather have lots of money then have a lot of items :P

Though I wish I had the money to just blow it on what ever I wanted on this site (Sometimes). It has tons of cute pixelated clothing :3

I would hoard some CIs but i do not have enough gold to do that. I would only keep like one of each CI and keep them and sell them back when they go up in price (that is what happened in gaia,but i am not too sure if this will happen in mene) But if Josh does create a marketplace expect major inflation.
