Word Games. Is there anyone who actually bothers to read the rules of the various threads!?!
And if you do read the rules, does it bother you when someone else doesn't?
Seriously there are several word game threads I'm lurking around and it really, really annoys me when people don't bother to read the rules for that thread and just post random things.
It really screws up the game and takes the enjoyment out of it! Well for me at least!

I know what you mean, but I don't really hang around the word thread, so I don't really mind it.
But I do hate it when someone doesn't listen, or messes around when they're not supposed to. :<
It really makes me MAD! -lol. I have such an underdeveloped vocabulary-

I don't post in the word game section, but I hear you! I put a rule in my adoption thread that you need to fill in the provided form and it's colour coded in off site colours so it's easy for me to skin through the thread and pick them out without having to read everything, and the questions are all to help me pair users up, but people often don't answer the final question or ignore the colour thingy and both are stated in the rules as needed. Then they complain at me when they're not paired up! people NEED to read rules!

Thank god!!!
I thought I was the only one having problems, it nice that I'm not alone. Well not nice, more like comforting. It's not nice to suffer from idiots who write without bothering to read, and it isn't nice that others suffer too, but you get my meaning. Don't you?
Any ideas about how to respond to these messages? Should I PM the user and ask them to edit their post to conform with the rules? Or post on the thread? Or something else I haven't thought of!
Because I have no idea how to word this if I did, because I tend to sound rude and terse and I don't mean to.

I have to admit that on some threads, I don't fully read rules because they tend to be long and drawn out but, for game threads you have to read the rules or the game gets screwed up. And sometimes the rules aren't clear and that's why things get screwed up.

That sucks when happens. I DO read when I'm not feeling lazy. But when I don't read I just don't post to not do anything that I shouldn't do. u.u

I don't post in word games, although I can see why that would be incredibly irritating. If I remember correctly, you don't gain gold from posting in word games? but perhaps some newer members think it's the 'spam' forum? I could be completely off too, just an idea.

I often reply with "I am ignoring all users who can not be bothered to fill out the form" hehe but nyeh. That's my main problem, no one fills out my forms correctly on the adoption thread. Maybe you could try:
And yet, there's always one dingbat who didn't read the rules
*shrugs* Have fun with the message. That way it's less depressing.

Considering I haven't made that many threads (if any) on Mene, I don't really have to worry about people not following the rules of a thread. But if I am going to post in a thread, I always try and read all the rules before posting.

I agree, I cant stand it when someone posts something to ruin the game like, "How do you play?", or they go complete off topic.

Mhm. I know this applies to rpers, as well. You know, for a thread that states characters must be human, and for someone to apply with a vampire character? Ech!
