I was the same. I find it really hard to earn gold. But it's exciting each time you get something. Make's you feel a bit better. Lol. I love the hair though!

The thing that really won me over about the site was the discussion I saw in the cash shop thread with the developers/mods. It was really refreshing to see an issue like funding discussed out in the open. That made me see that the people who run the site really care.

I've got to agree with Dandelina, I too spend a good long while reading the discussion on the Cash Shops. I'd been browsing several different sites looking for a home to hang out in, and the indepth thoughts and utter love and concern for the community and user really made me check this site out twice. :'3

And then the games are so very addicting! And the whole site is cute and fun and everything.. And everything is sort of attainable. It's not like there's this 'eventy-million dollar item that you'd need to save up for 'umpteenth-years just to get close too.

Yeah right now I have the same problem of wondering if I will ever get clothes and if I will ever get enough gold to buy the clothes that i want... I have so many I want to do but so little gold thus I am trying to post as much as I can

Bahh. My thoughts about mene was alot like the other users who posted.
I thought Mene was just another site trying to copy the famous gaiaonline. But as I dug deeper into Mene, I realized that it was like gaia. Mene is much more mature than Gaia.

I first thought that Menewsha was a sort of V.I.P. club... Wierd, yes, but due to what I've heard about money being hard to get and status and everything (I've read this on a blog entry, mind you >.>; ), I just wound up with thinking of Mene that way.

And the home page... I thought there was a sort of line just to get into whatever building it was (I think), with Mr. Mayor being a sort of club president/mascot, and of course, I even thought that Magnus was a bouncer.

... Yeah. ._.;

The art on the homepage is what drew me in.
I really don't find it hard to earn gold, but I earn almost all of my gold by playing snake. ;D
I think the clothes here are better than the other sites I've been to, and they aren't outrageously priced like they are on Gaia.
And, unlike Gaia, the people here are friendly and literate.

I thought Menewsha was completely (or at least mostly) boring/stupid.
Until I realized that you could play snake and SOME of the items were okay.

I'm being totally honest, too. =/ There really isn't much to the forums, and I don't think I'm ever going to be able to make any decent friends that I'm interested in keeping as friends, and talking to, on a daily basis.

This is my personal opinion as a stereotypical, judgmental, loner/lurker. I'm not just dissing the site to be rude, or mean, or anything like that. e . e;

I thought it had potential but I HATE threads where 90% of the content is: *hands _____ a cookie* so I was not a big fan of these forums. Things appear to be a little better now, but without cookie handling I doubt I'll ever earn enough gold to wear anything fun. Which sucks.

I thought..."OMFG this is so much more sweet than gaia" And I was also really suprised that people actually HELP with your quest. ^^

When I first heard of Mene I was told that the people weren't very kind to newbies. But being me I decided I was gonna make my own judgment and so I joined. At first I thought 'Meah...it's ok but it could use some improvement" then again Gaia must have spoiled me. At first I didn't notice any hostility towards noobs but I do notice people tend to profile them. Like a cop does when he sees a fast car....just waiting for a chance to hand them a ticket.

Really...? Menewsha generally has a good history of being nice to newbies. Unless you joined during the TekTek incident. o_o; Perhaps the bad reputation comes from that. Or, alternately, people who joined thinking this place was like Gaia and spammed everywhere, got a minor infraction and assumed that since we were firm on our rules that it was a personal thing. u_u;

Well, I just joined and right now, my thoughts hover around the general area of "Why the heck am I naked?"
