Well, you have to start at the beginning for my story. Since 2005, I've been a devoute follower of Gaia Online, so I've had plently of time to see what social avatar sites can fall to. When I was browsing Facebook, I kept seeing this wierdo advertisement that had some nifty and colorful stuff on it, so I clicked. I was a bit put off at the sheer number of things I had to put out, but instead of my usual habit of stopping things because I get bored, I marched on and eventually was able to sign up for this place. When I got to the avatar creation, I was really confused, here was all of these options that were available....for free. I had so many eyes and hair styles to chose from that I panicked a bit. But once I got going, I realised that this new system of things wasn't so bad. When I played games and looked at my gold score...my jaw hit the floor. Never had I recieved so little for so much effort, on Gaia you get about 45 gold per post, and I was tempted to just stop this nonsense. After I posted in the forum for nublettes and got such encouraging responses, I decided to stay.

So here I am, about 3 hours onto the site and already I'm really really liking what I'm seeing. I look forward to learning new things, meeting new people, and getting enough damn gold that my avatar looks like a hippie!

I tried to join Menewsha a while back but before I did my e-mail adress got baned for an unknown reason (at least to me ) so my very, very first thoughts about Mene were  :illgetu::-x :talk2hand: but since I opened this account 2 days ago I really appreciate the difference between this comunity and Gaia .... also I absolutely adore the pixels here!

When i was first going around trying to figure out how it all worked and came across the difficulty with getting gold i was upset. i love the clothes here a lot better than on gaia. everything is so much better in one way or that.

I had been away from Gaia for a while, so when I joined I was unsure what to expect. I loved the clothes though! They were much more creative than Gaia. Also I realized how literate everyone was, and that just made me happy inside *giggles* ^.^

I hated the avatars when I first joined, and actually, I still think the old bases were pretty bleh, (I know, I can't do a better job myself) but the community was so nice, I decided to settle down and have Menewsha be my primary avatar site.

Well my first thoughts was that the avatar styles look great. But I thought i would not get into it like I did when i first got on Gaia. I had some problems at first with the saving every time to view hair types and etc. I went though all the hairs one by one then, come to find out there was a forum that shows all the styles, which I didn't know because I was new.

I did read the rules, foe some reason because I try to avoid reading in all cases. After I read them I was scared to post because I thought I would get banned for making a mistake. And I never got banned before, Oh yea I did once on this site called faketown but that as because this guy knew the mob in real life......anyways back on topic

I also didn't like how hard it was to make gold and didn't really like the games, but since i joined they added to more games which one became my favorite (attack of the fan girls) I made my gold that way which is more easy for me.

Now I really enjoy the site and everyone in it, I like to see the pretty avatar, people really know how to put a outfit together. I wish I found out about this site sooner, so I could have get the nice items, and CI.

Well I talk to much so I'm done now.

Not as good as Gaia, and I still don't think it is.

I thought it'd be fascinating! I love it the first time I saw it. (Now my stomach hurts, really bad) I still do like it. I never thought it'll be just like Gaia but I thought it'll be better. You know? xD

I think it looks nice and that it does infact look like gaia in a way however menewsha seems to have a better base for their avatars but i still like gaia since i have nice friends in there.

ohh yeah what is wrong with gaia btw? I see nothing wrong except for the floods of noobs with vampire topics -_-''.

My first impression was sketchy. I mean, its a lot like Gaia and all but the way of earning gold is totally different. Just means I actually have to post in forums, but if I can have more literate and intelligent conversations here than that is totally awesome.

I was distressed at first, because I had no idea as to what I was supposed to do, but I certainly liked it. It seemed easier to earn gold then on Gaia because I like to type a lot anyway. :3 That and the items aren't as expensive and I like these avatars better, anyway.

The avatar bases are much better than Gaia's. o_O
Of course there's more choices when it comes to clothes there,
but it's been up much longer.

I like the community so far.

I just joined like last week, my first thoughts were the avatars were cute.

Then I started posting and everyone was so incredibly friendly I don't really like the games and the threads are a bit slw moving, but the slow moving threads are a bit refreshing... Gives more time for intelligence

At first I thought "OMG, NO STARTER PACK OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT?", but then I think the system is very organized. The amount of gold you get is determined by the length of your post, which reduces the amount of spammer and junkers.

But the games are not enough. :( We need more.

My first immediate thought:

"Uh. Where's my avatar?"

xD

Of course, figured it out a few minutes later, though it took me another 10 minutes to get the hairstyle I wanted...that was before I found the hairstyle-thread.

my first impression was horrible. i came from gaia, i was posting stuff that was copyrighted, bumping forums, getting absolutely no gold, and the avatars and lack of MMO like qualities disgust me(unlike gaias towns and ZOMG) but i just wanted my guy to look cool so i played the low quality, badly made fishing game until i got some stuff. now im just posting random stories on the forums for money and buying dumb stuff for my avi. fun fun.

BTW: i was doing the illegal stuff on my other account, it was banned within a day or so from me posting it. his name was cranky casey. too bad i cant get the name back.

My first impression was...

"Hm. This place looks promising!"

It was definitely hard back in those days to earn gold. xP
I remember saving for WEEKS (okay, maybe a week and a half... but still!) to buy myself a Cloak of Healing, which, back then, was 350g.
That was my first item, and my first CI. I still have it, too! :3

All those games of Descender, and the original fishing game until it was taken down... And posting to the death, of course! ;>

I wasn't around all that much in the earlier months, though. I joined in May '07, was active until early June, and then didn't come back again until October. I snagged myself a pair of panda slippers for 800g, and I participated in the Hallowe'en event, but I missed the uberhax CIs (July, August, and September '07). Of course, now I have an Oriental Fan and a Scarf of Order, but it's not the same knowing I could've gotten myself an entire set of July/August/September if I had only been active... :<
