Well ever since I joined I knew that I should save up for EIs and CIs before anything. That is why I am still focusing on getting all the EIs and CIs I want. I am first going for the cheapest or any readily available EIs/CIs, then I will go for expensive ones that I really want (like the fan and queen's crown).
I only bought a few commons, and this is actually the only good outfit I have right now. Right now my plan is to try and buy the cloak set, scarf of order, and queen's crown xP Even though I really love the '07 valentine set, I won't be questing for it because it is just way to expensive for me right now. I have read what others have said and I agree with what they said about EIs and CIs. I need to get them now before they become any more expensive than they already are. Once I have all the ones I like then I can focus on making nicer outfits. I am really not in it to make a profit, for now I really only want one of each item. |
Why do you want them to go up in price? You spend all those hours questing and when you sell them you have all this gold but what to buy with it? You've already bought and sols the rarest of them all.

I'm not in any of those groups really. I'm not crazy for commons, but I buy them sometimes. I try to obtain as many event sets as possible for future use (to donate, to sell, etc) and also to get some past event items, but only the ones I think look nice. I generally only buy contribution items if I think they'll look good on my avatar.

I buy a lot of commons and end up selling them back and stuff. [not going to do that anymore T__T] I really should start collecting the old CI's I want, otherwise I will never get them. I think I should start trying to get a King's Crown because I really want one. [:: goes to start a quest thread xD ::] I also want a Green Clover Hairpin, but I don't know if I'll ever get that. I just want the items that I like, I don't want to collect them all so that I'm special in the future. xD |
Well, I haven't bought any of the old CIs yet, but I think that now I'm going to try to get some of the ones that I like. I won't try to get all of them, just the couple that I really want, like the panda slippers, and the dec CIs.
For the most part I like buying commons because there's more of those that I like. I'm the type of person that buys old items just because they'll be worth more later. I just get the stuff I like. |
@ King - Grab 'em before they inflate over your head, simple enough for me.
I want them because I like them. o.o; I like to see them in my inventory, I like dreaming of possible avatars I will one day create with them when I'm done, and I like the feeling of accomplishment I get when I manage to buy one. |
A mixture of event and contribution items. I work to gather up the items I don't have first before I move on to items that I can get at any time.

I kind of mix it up with my gold. They are a few rare items, the donation ones, that I am trying to get before inflation strikes things too hard. So if I see a rare I like, I try and get it if its under 1k. The more expensive ones I have decided I shall go after later after making a few more outfits! *laughs softly*
Currently after buying the yumeh and new years pins, I have been working upon my commons list. You're right! Theres an incredible amount of awesome commons. But I can see too why folks would out off getting commons, since commons shall always be there. |

Well, now I am more of a commons person. I do occasionally buy a rare or two, but only if I absolutely want them, and if they just came out and I think will be really popular.

I don't post often enough to have huge amounts of gold, so I work on the commons. The only event item that I really wanted from before I started and bought was the Yumeh hairpin. I like the old Valentine's items, but even if I'd never bought anything else in the 4 months I've been on here...I don't know if I'd be able to afford them now.
I'd rather just mark them as unobtainable and focus on the great shop items that I want. There are enough of them that it keeps me busy. I don't really care whether they'll inflate or not because I'm not going to sell them. I buy them because I like them, not because I want to make money off them. |
I usually use my gold on the Event store items... But usually I use it to buy arts. /i just gave up on my Rares quest so I only buy things I could afford now. I'm sooo bad at saving. XD

I only buy the rares or contribution items that I like. I spent my gold mostly on commons, I can't resist temptation when there's a new update in the stores.

If I had just come to this site and was planning out what I should go for first, like everyone else it would be the CIs, older and rarer first. Eliminate the tough ones, I suppose.
Generally though I don't care much for doubles. Unless I absolutely love the item and having multiples just makes me happier to have so much of a pretty item (<3333), I don't hoard. I love commons. Lately I've only been getting discounted ones because I'm just like that. ._. But I'm one of the "must have all store items, muahahaha!" people. :3 |
I think that it would be smartest to buy mostly contribute items because they rise in value, unlike commons.
Commons are nice and all but they will always be there. As for myself, I like to make dream avies that I like, CIs or not, and just buy those items. With CI items, I will buy or donate to get the ones I want, even if it doesn't match with my other items. |

The only CIs that I have are a slipper set and a Feb set. And the event items I have (aside from an easter set) are just from the events I've been here for. I love pretty commons, though. They're mah best frend. :D |
I have to say mine goes on rares. I don't make alot of gold from month to month, so i usually save what i have for the CI's. Even if i don't really like them, i count it as an investment.
I only have the commons that i'm wearing now, and an dress on my mule. |

I've been a member on 4 avatar sites so far and on each of them I am simply addicted to commons.For me,a challenge is to make a unique avatar with cheap items available to everyone.Though I didn't accomplish that just yet. xD |
I'm questing for commons right now, mainly because I don't know the names or prices of the event and CI items. ^_^; Besides, the items in the stores are beautiful! I feel that they are certainly worth working for right now.

I used to have a goal of owning every single item on Mene - I've been here since the first contribution items were released so I was lucky enough to be able to get one of each as they came out.
HOWEVER - circumstances have come up and now I'd say I spend all my gold on arts, or at least a good chunk of it. considering I've got an art contest running for about 205,000 gold. XD |
I spend a lot on commons but I spend a lot on rares too. I hope to own one of every item I like. I have most of the store items I want at the moment so I'm now focusing on my next rare, then I'll go back to commons.
I don't buy art, but I do donate, so I'd say I'm an even spender. |
I'd have to say I'm a combination of two of them. I think MOST of my gold goes towards shop items that are pretty so I can make my avatar look rockin'. Buuut, I do spent a lot of gold on rare items and contribution items and such too. ^.^ And I try to save up gold for events so I can get all the items I wanna hang onto.
I think my main motivation for these avatar sites is dressing up my character. o.o I'm a weirdo. XD |
Well, since I've been here since the begining, I have most of all the rares that people want, and been selling them slowly. so most of my funds go towards the new commons that come out.
