Or does it seem like yes, you gain gold moderately fast, but as far as getting anything it takes a while. x_X

Yes I know playing the games will also get you gold, but all in all in order to get a decent looking avi it seems it will take time, and depending on how many games you play a day, either a long time, or a short period of time. x_X

I suppose that depends on how you look at earning gold on this website. For myself, due to my semi-inactivity, I find that I don't make very much gold very fast. I rarely play the games to earn gold, which would be the easiest way to earn a good chunk a day, but I honestly think that if most people were just more active, they could make more than enough to pull together outfits or finish quests in a matter of days just through posting.

I find the hardest thing is actually finding a seller or what you want without some greedy hoarder or something coming in and outbidding you.
How I miss the old Menewsha ;--;

I know, its a basic human emotion xD

I remember a few months ago when I went posting crazy, I got about 500g from posting in about 1-2 hours.
Of course, I posted every minute for almost that whole time straight.

Yeah, but that's not an easy thing to do for someone who has limited time on the internet and also is not really the talkative type.
People like that just advance slower is all as opposed to someone who has their own computer and all the time to post and likes posting a lot.

Well I doubt everyone doing the outbidding is just a greedy person, especially with some popular items, but there are always inevitably going to be the hoarders. I think kind of what I've always thought about the site, and this is actually why I'm glad they capped the games, that it's supposed to be a certain amount of work to get what you want.
LOL: I know Wicked. :D People were already comparing 'old' versus 'new' when I first got here, so I suppose it's to be expected. Although the site then wasn't without it's unique issues, and the site in a year will have it's own, people will almost inevitably remember what they consider 'old' menewsha as sort of an unobtainable paradise lost. I think thats also human nature. ^_^

I'm only just now coming back into my more active mode.
So, I know how you feel about that.
Gaining gold is easier during events, I should say.
More people are on and active - usually, and the talking just goes by much quicker when everybody has an event goal to fulfill.
Lately, I've been working on pushing myself to do more here, despite my obvious distracted from someplace else, which I love.

I went so far as to go ahead and create a quest thread, and already one other person and myself have "hit if off" and been talking since it opened.
So, I reckon you just have to find a way to "make" yourself more active.
Do whatever it takes to get the attention you need to post more.

Try the hangouts too. I promise, if you make friends in those, you'll be plenty busy talking it up. And, subscribe to several, don't just wait around for one.

Games .. I don't play them, I'm not very good. So, I don't depend on them for any source of income. Maybe one day, or if there ar ever different kinds of games that I'll be good at.

Yeah, the first few months I posted like a maniac. xD I raised the 3k for the crown so quickly.

The crown is gone now, but I have the hairpin instead, so yay. <3

I could become a maniac poster now if I wanted to... but I'd have to make new friends to chat with (my closest friends are pretty inactive)... and I can't be asked. xD

Er, yah it does take time sometimes, but it depends if you just want a simple avi or not lol. It's a good thing though, this teaches you to save up and what not. Nothing comes to you in just a matter of seconds in the real world, you have to save up and what not.

this site can teach that if you're willing to learn :)

Depends on how much you post and how you post. I posted a lot when I first joined but stopped after getting addicted to Tetris, finding out you get 50gold each time you enter level 10. And RL got me really messed up and busy.

But a good way to get a good outfit would be to start a quest thread. There people will chat with you and donate. I recently had someone donate me four 08 valentine items. One of which was 1000gold ^___^

And then after you've either been here a month or have 500 posts and your thread has at least 3 pages you can do the Weekly Auction in which you can win free and rare items.

I've been trying to post more. but mostly, if you just start up a conversation and set time limit to games(or just play till you've reached your limit) then you'll have gold in no time.

And there is the exchange, where you get items cheaper ^___^

Finding a seller is much harder than making the gold itself. The item I want has gone up more than 50k in the time that I have been questing it and ?I have supposedly had enough funds the whole time.

I've gotten so close a couple of times, but after more than half a year of questing, I'm feeling a bit discouraged.

I fail at games, and I lurk alot, so it's no wonder I'm always dirt poor! No but seriously, I really need to post more. I always forget how fun it is to not be cripplingly shy all the time.
