OHMIGOD. Ranger's Apprentice! Augh! I was up until midnight reading it last night, skipped lunch to read it today, and just read the rest all in one sitting. WHY. D: It was sooo good. <3 A couple weak points in the plot, but that's okay, 'cause the story has to work. And they were little things that didn't really bug me. And the main character, Will (who I love) got a dog, and not just any dog, but my favorite kind! <3 Squee!

Granted, in the book she's called a border shepherd, but based on the description of her fur and eyes, and also the level of intellegence she's described to have, border shepherds are pretty obviously the equivilent of Border Collies in the Ranger's Apprentice world. And she still doesn't have a name, and i was so curious about what it would be. :<

Only thing is, my favorite main character only appeared like three times in this book, because he got bumped down to a minor character for this part of the series. ;-; I MISS HIM. HALT IS MY HERO. <3 <3 <3 Also, my favorite favorite character, a ranger named Gilan, hasn't been in the books since like... book three. And the author said he didn't show up again until book seven. My friend read an interview with him, and he was apparently like, "...Yeah... Lots of people like Gilan, and I didn't realize that... Sorry, I should have put him in the books more..." or something like that. Prolly 'cause all Gilan's fan girls wrote him going "WTF WHAR HE GONE TO?"

I mean, I would have, but we're so many books behind here in the states that I was unable to realize it until after it had been adressed. XD;

ANYWAY. As for why I'm "AUGH"ing and "WHY"ing... Not only did the dog not get named, it ended on a SUSPENSFUL NOTE. Like, 25 pages from the end I was like, "...How's he gonna wrap all this up? Horace hasn't gotten to Will and Alyss, whats-his-face is still dying or whatever, the dog isn't named, that one guy is still trying to take over the castle and... Oh shi-! IT'S GONNA BE A CLIFFHANGER. THAT BASTARD AUTHOR." DX

But it was still really good. <3

...I have to get off now, because my dad is suddenly Mr. Time Limit, and even though I've been on less than half an hour, I've 'been on too long'. e_e Seriosuly. I was on at my mom's house. And when he was out. So apparently, to him, twenty minutes is "TOO LONG."

Blagh. Thank goodness for being at my mom's house until Thursday after tonight...

Maybe we could make the rangers become... real? XD; You know, actually start them up. o 3o Of course, I tend to suggest that for anything that I want to be real.

Oh god, you would totally love GIWIWAR. That's her response when she can't be something she want to be... Make it. Like, she wants to be a Native American, but you can't just become Native American, so she made up a tribe. XD She dubbed herself cheif/protector, one of our friends the ritual dancer, one of our friends the shaman/medicine/dream lady, and she amde the the story teller. The two of us have tried to make the Ranger Corps on several occasions, but never managed to make it stick. :<

He has these random phases where he'll suddenly get unreasonably strict about something for no apparent reason, but it always wears off quickly... So hopefully he'll get other this fast. o_o;
