Sometimes I laugh at jokes I don't actually get and then look them up later. xD; I hate feeling like the only person in a group that's not getting a joke.
And I'm an okay speller, most of the time. But I typo a looottt. And words like "definitely" are ALWAYS spelled wrong by me. :illgetu: |
I've never thought to look up jokes before. That's a pretty good idea. I think I'll give that a try.
I'm always the person who just kind of stares at everyone and goes, "I don't get it." when I don't get a joke someone has told. Which of course makes everyone else start laughing again. I just wish they would explain them to me once in a while. XD I try not to typo but I'm sure I do it. I re-read my posts before I post them but I don't always catch everything. If I'm in a hurry to type out something I may also miss a lot. So I understand when it happens to other people. I can spell well when I have to but when I'm on a place just for fun I kind of don't pay as close attention and then I start to make mistakes. But that's what I have spell check for. It catches most of my mistakes so it's all good. |
I'm pretty clueless with the double entendres.
(lol...firefox says that I spelled entendre wrong, yet when I look it up on google, I see that I spelled it correctly!) |
Oh, no firefox is wrong! XD That kind of surprises me because it's usually pretty good. Oh well, I guess I'll have to pay closer attention to any misspellings now. It's good that Google came through for you though.
|
Ah, Google spellcheck. <333
I notice that when I type fast I mix up words like "your" and "you're". UGHHHH. I hate when I do that because it bugs me when other people do it! D: |
I do that all the time. I think I really annoy people at times and I'm sorry for who ever I may annoy with that constant mistake. XD I try not to do it but sometimes it can't be helped.
That's honestly why I don't get on people for when they do things like that every once and while. It's a different story if they type like that all the time though. Then it can start to get on my nerves a bit. |
Hello everyone~! :'D <3<3
I just want to pop in here and say... I AM NOW ON MY SUMMER VACATION TILL JUNE~!! *dances* I am not TOTALLY free yet, however. While the stress is gone, I have a LOT of loose ends to tie up. Plus, I have so many vacation parties and events to go to that I'm probably going to be partying it up the whole of next week. xDD;; Also, it's Holy Week next week, and being the Roman Catholic that I am my family will be spending the special week up in my mountain home (as least, we have plans to), so I won't be here either. ^^;; ... Oh, and I'm watching Timberland, Justin Timberlake, and JoJo tomorrow night in my shiny (free) VIP seat~ Gotta love having connections in the music industry. xDD;; <3<3 Thank you to EVERYONE who's been chatting it up in here and keeping this place alive! <3<3 *hugglesquishes everyone* You guys seriously rock. ^^ I promise to be back in full swing with my insane posting self within next week or the week after that~ :3 Also, OMG KESSY YOU'RE ALIVE! O_O;; <3<3 *huggleluffles* Good to see you around again! :'D |
I want to be on summer vacation.... Darn you real life! :illgetu:
|
Hi Rylynne. Yeah, I'm alive. Real life just got the better of me for about a year, so I didn't really have the time or energy to log onto Mene. But in my defense I honestly thought it had only been a few months since I last logged on. XD I'm kind of surprised it's been as long as it has. I now have about a year's worth of CI's and EI's to catch up on. Which should be kind of fun. I shouldn't really be surprised that I missed so much but I kind of am.
It's good to see that you are doing well. |

From the sounds of it, it seems to me more like you have a very nice and intelligent college that you're at. I wouldn't know if a college here is better than there, either, but I think that we dont appreciate it as much. At least most dont. Its largely taken for granted, and we're mainly all rather lazy. ><;; I wish things were going better for the US, but it just seems to be getitng increasingly worse in its own ways. Like you said, many are high and mighty and think they're smarter than everyone. Its often seen that way since we get a lot of people that immigrate here, and many dont speak english, so its much harder for them to learn, and they're then considered stupid for not understanding. Although, they could be very smart were they fluent in the language and could understand what they're being told. So, perhaps that comes off to some that other countries are less intelligent. Although, asians are usually considered very smart, since they work their asses off here. lol I have know a lot of Hmongs that were extremely intelligent and hardworking. And I think that has a lot to do with the way they were raised. Their parents wanted them to have a good life and were more strict and helping, where as many other parents dont seem to care nearly as much or are less controlling. Its amazing with all the differences in people and cultures, but I wish that we as Americans were less naive and harder workers. Myself included. |
Yay, Ry!
Enjoy yourself...you've earned it! We'll keep the campfires burning here for you... |
Oooh. Sounds like fun, Ry.
Glad that you'll be relaxing a bit! 8D;; |
@Nae - Have a fun vacation hun! Also if i had the chance i'd punch that guy in the eye!! (The american idiot who thought he was all high and mighty). ;) xD
|
You go, Roachi!
|
xDD. Well i thought that was quite rude.
|
I agree
He sounds like a real pompous ass |
Unfortunately, I hate to say that many of us Americans are pompous asses....
(Except mwah, or course...) |
Lols @ Jean xDD
I just think it's rude to go to someone else's country. Especially a developing country and rant on about how great your country is and how it's more advanced in it's studys. And that your university is shit compared to ivy league. Of course it frekkin is, it's ivy league we're talking about here, no need to rub it in!!!! That's just utter crap. I'd like to see him go and live in the Philippines with monsoons and staying up 3 days in a row straight to finish your assignments and shiz on time. And see if his ivy league ass can hack that!! Moron >.> |
Very true, Jean
|
I think I'll pretend I'm not from America if I go to another country. x__x; Too many tourists have already set a bad example.
"Me? American? No, I'm Canadian, eh." |
LOL xDD
I remember asking a canadian if they were american and her saying to me Quote:
|
I do have to agree with you all. A lot of Americans have a very bad attitude, which is a shame because it gives others a really bad name. I can't tell you how many times I heard people complain that they couldn't order in English in a Spanish McDonald's. They would argue that since it's from America then you should be able to order in English.
Some also used to say that everyone should speak English even in other countries. You are in another country you should try to speak a bit of their language not expect everyone to speak English. It was very frustrating. Yeah, don't ever say that to Canadians. XD My husband is Canadian but he has such a thick accent that no one ever mistakes him for American. |
Its one of the funemental reasons that the french hate us. Has anyone ever gone to France and tried to speak their language. They are much more kind and forgiving (even if you royally screw up) to someone who does not speak there language well but tries, even more willing to help you in english if they know it. They see it as a sign that you didn't ASSUME they speak english even though most of them do. They hate people who assume they should speak English in a french country.
Now mind you, I do feel that people in the US should have to learn English. They dont have to not use their Spanish amongst themselves but they should no how to use English in an English store. |
I haven't been to France. But the places that I've lived or visited they've done the same thing. If you are trying to speak their language they are nicer to you and seem more willing to help you.
I do agree with you about the whole English thing in the US but I feel that way about any country. If you are going to be living in a country for any length of time I think you should try to learn the language. You may never become fluent in it but I think it's silly if you don't even try to at least learn enough to get around and be able to do basic things. It's just making things harder on yourself in the end. Which isn't good. |
Exactly, because you seem so less stuck up then most americans in that way.
And yes, I would agree, if your going to live in france learn french, in spain learn spanish. Just enough that you dont make an ass out of yourself. I work in a department store...and alot of foriegners come in during the real early morning and they cant speak a word of english but want my help. Its fairly frustrating trying to mime everything. |
