Didn't have to wear glasses until I was 24. Been going blind ever since, I am more blind then my husband and he has been wearing glasses since he was a sophomore in high school. It's ridiculous.

Kat Dakuu 01-06-2012 04:58 AM

I got glasses going into 2nd grade. I've always needed them. I'm almost as blind as my very vision challenged father at this point.

Queen_Andais 01-06-2012 05:04 AM

Slowly making my way to where my mother is...blind as a bat without her glasses on.

All right.. time for me to climb into bed. Damn work.

Kat Dakuu 01-06-2012 05:05 AM

I'll probably be legally blind by the time I'm my dad's age.

night, do sleep well.

Hi guys!

Ah, but you see...if you are really near-sighted like I am, then the older you get, the BETTER your eye sight gets. Age makes people get more far-sighted.

I figure that pretty soon now I won't need glasses at all!

Kat Dakuu 01-09-2012 08:15 PM

that's unfair! and my mom got near sighted as she got older. she didn't used to need bifocals.

Queen_Andais 01-10-2012 04:07 AM

I am near sighted now and it's so not getting better. *sighs* And now that I am another year older, it's all down hill from here.

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 04:17 AM

getting older is no fun at all! D:

Jeannesha 01-10-2012 09:00 PM

Using bifocals generally means that you need changes to your "really" near vision.
I am near-sighted, so I need lens adjustment to see far.
Yet, I can see really close just fine, so for my bifocal hey take AWAY from the lens. My bifocal lens correction is less than my far vision correction.

It's strange...but that 's the way it works.

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 09:10 PM

if you say so...

Jeannesha 01-10-2012 09:24 PM

lol...long-winded answer, I know.

Each year my far vision gets better, and my bifocals approach normal visison.

Hard to describe.

But I need to go get my eyes checked again.

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 09:28 PM

I need to check my eyes again even though I got new glasses over the summer. I already can't see anymore.

Jeannesha 01-10-2012 09:31 PM

I even got a letter from my insurance company telling me to go get my eyes checked.
Strange. But I guess as a diabetic, it's important for yearly checks.

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 09:37 PM

it is? I didn't know that.

Jeannesha 01-10-2012 09:50 PM

Lots of diabetics go blind...

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 09:51 PM

weird. that would suck.

Jeannesha 01-10-2012 09:52 PM

I wish I knew what type of eye doctor to go to...

Kat Dakuu 01-10-2012 09:55 PM

there are different kinds?

Jeannesha 01-11-2012 09:24 PM

There are the regular optometrists, who figure out what glasses you need.

Then there are opthamologists, who are MD's...more schooling, and they know more of the medical stuff about eyes.

Kat Dakuu 01-11-2012 09:37 PM

I dunno. I've always gone to the same eye place.

Jeannesha 01-11-2012 10:11 PM

I like your new outfit!

Kat Dakuu 01-12-2012 12:10 AM

thanks. though I'm sure I wasn't finished with it when you posted. I had to stop in the middle of changing when I went to get a hair cut.

Linnea 01-12-2012 12:55 AM
