I actually always had a TV.
A little black and white portable one....

i had a portable black and white tv when I was a kid. it didn't really work. the image always was fuzzy and had like...four one on top of each other. But I would take it with me when my parents were painting our old house before selling it. We used to rent it before that, so we niced it up before selling. I would sit on the floor in an empty room and watch power rangers or the magic school bus. you should try watching power rangers without color sometime. its ridiculous.

lol...when I was a kid, they were ALL in black and white...

well that's lame. black and white is only good for photos! :P

I had a little green "brownie" camera that took black and white photos too...

We also had one of the first stereos on the block.

haha. hints of memory like that are kind of fun. you never quite know the whole story, but you have all these pieces floating around.

I remember one night I was thinking of the house I was born in.
I was trying to walk through the rooms and look at everything.

It was really hard to do...

Well, we lived there until I was 13, so I had quite a few years there...

I moved before I started first grade. but like I said, we were there a lot trying to sell the house afterwards.

I remember sliding down the stairs on a piece of cardboard.
There was a closet across from the stairs, and we'd fill it with pillows.

Then once as I was sliding down, my brother slammed the closet door shut, so I ran headlong into the door instead of the nice soft pillows...

really? I had this gymnastics pad thing made out of foam and me and my brothers used that to slide down the stairs. there was a closet at the bottom of the stairs but we never thought to put pillows in it. usually the 'sled' didn't make it all the way down the stairs.

lol...yeah...typical sibling stuff!

me and my brothers used to fight using sticks and sometimes these plastic hockey sticks we had. me mom would always yell at us when she caught us beating each other with hockey sticks.

We had a bow and arrow set, and we used to shoot arrows up in the air and dodge them as they came down.

lol...man were we ever stupid.

all children are stupid in their own way.

we set up a folding chair in the game room upstairs and ran at it, stepping on the seat, and jumped over the back. We learned to land so it didn't make much noise and we wouldn't get in trouble.

Ooo...that calls for really athletic ability!

you'd think that, but it was really easy to do.

We normally didn't do much stuff in the house, cuz my Dad worked the night shift.

I think me and my bros played inside and out about equally. then it was all inside playing video games when the playstation came out.

Well, of course, the only computers that were around when I was a kid were the large room-filled ones. No such things as laptops, game stations, even monitors.

We played Life, Monopoly, scrabble, and cards.

I have one of the original Barbies though...
