haha. same here. but I'm thinking this story is too long to submit to the contest I'm considering. that one only goes up to 5k I think. I could google it though. I have another short story that's only 5 pages so I could submit that instead. both are very good.

Yup. You have to go by the particular contest's rules.

But I think they show on our TV all the time...We have a lot of spanish stations.

I looked up the rules and I'm safe! the max is 17k words since it includes novelettes. happiness. :)
L. Ron Hubbard's Writer's of the Future contest is something I've wanted to enter since I first read one of the books full of contest winners.

I think over half the stations in santa fe are in spanish.

yeah. white people are a minority around here. especially people who don't speak spanish.

Have you picked up any Spanish while you've been there?

I took spanish classes in high school and college. failed one of them. no, my spanish has not gotten better.

You probably understand more than I would though...

We used to get them around here a lot before Austin annexed us.

We didn't have ambulance/emergency services here, so they sent medivac out whenever there was an emergency.

The chopper would land right in the street!

oh wow, that's pretty cool

We nosy neighbors would gather around and watch.

One time a kid got stung by a bee and they brought in the chopper.

your life is not boring! I think lots of people would love to read about your life, jean! Believe me, people write about their good lives all the time and people love those memoirs. its only urban legend that people with shitty childhoods have something to write about in memoirs.
