as a whole america is. but there a plenty of healthy americans and its not like food isn't a huge part of other countries too. :/

Cora 06-22-2012 10:43 PM

got a point, I entirely blame the American's who are that way, but the food industry doesn't help.

Jeannesha 06-23-2012 11:13 PM

Well, hubby is grilling swordfish today.

Nummy!

Kat Dakuu 06-23-2012 11:14 PM

where the heck do you get a swordfish?

Jeannesha 06-24-2012 02:04 AM

At the fish store.

They're deep ocean fish.
Very tasty when grilled.

Kat Dakuu 06-24-2012 02:10 AM

I know where swordfish live.
there's a fish store?

Jeannesha 06-24-2012 07:40 PM

There are some stores that specialize in fish.

We actually got the swordfish at Central Market.

Did you know that the guy who is behind the fish counter is called a fish monger?
I learned that from Alton Brown.

Kat Dakuu 06-24-2012 10:40 PM

I've never seen one.

hm.

I learned that from shakespeare.

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 02:27 AM

I thought Shakespeare talked about war mongers.
I didn't know he talked about fish mongers.

Kat Dakuu 06-25-2012 02:29 AM

it was an insult used in I think Romeo and Juliet.

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 02:41 AM

lol...I wouldn't be surprised.

Mostly, when we did Shakespeare, I needed somebody to interpret for me.

Kat Dakuu 06-25-2012 02:43 AM

well, I figured this out through a video online talking about shakespeare insults. I dont' understand him too well either.

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 02:46 AM

I remember reading Julius Caesar in high school.
Man...it was HARD reading.

Then the teacher would explain it as we went along.

I remember thinking..."well, if THAT's what he meant, then why didn't he just SAY that?"

Kat Dakuu 06-25-2012 03:18 AM

I think Julius Caesar was my favorite.

you have to remember that:
A) Shakespeare was very creative with words
B) it made more sense in his time.
I never though he should say what I think he should have.

Cora 06-25-2012 01:21 PM

Actually I love Shakespeare, but I didn't care for Julius Cesar

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 06:44 PM

He was so flowery with his words.
Words with a flourish.

I'm trying to remember when he was around.
Was he around when Henry 8th was King?

Kat Dakuu 06-25-2012 06:45 PM

I haven't got a clue. go google it.

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 08:48 PM

(whines)
I'm too lazzzyyyyy.....

Cora 06-25-2012 09:09 PM

I don't know either I'm afraid.

Jeannesha 06-25-2012 09:34 PM

If I'm not looking it up, then I guess I don't really care if I know or not.
lol...

I was just thinking that in the Tudors, I thought there was a reference to Shakespeare writing a play...but I could have mis-heard it.

---------- Post added 06-25-2012 at 04:38 PM ----------

OK...I looked it up.

Shakespeare lived from 1564 - 1616.
Henry the 8th from 1491 - 1547.

So he died before Shakespeare was born.

But Henry's daughter, Elizabeth died in 1603, and she was queen until she died, so she overlapped Shakespeare somewhat.

Cora 06-25-2012 10:05 PM

I had a feeling it was Elizabethan, but I wasn't 100% sure.

llonka 06-26-2012 12:25 AM
