I am!
But the grout is good. Unfortunately, the quarter round on the floor isn't working out. He painted it so it was ready to be cut and put in, but something got hosed, and so now we're another day behind while we get more quarter round. We then have to paint it and wait for it to dry before we install it... |
what's a quarter round?
|
It's the trim that you put on the floor. After you put your tile down, there's the cut tile next to the baseboard, and it's about 1/4 inch gap away from the baseboard.
The quarter round is a piece of trim that nails into the baseboard, and it covers that gap between the tiles and the baseboards. It's called a quarter round because when you put the flat part against the floor, and the other flat part against the baseboard, it curves and forms a quarter of a circle down to the floor.... If you have any tile in your home, look at the baseboard. Chances are that there's a quarter round trim there. |
Um, I think we do have tile. yep, in the bathroom. I'm still not quite sure I know what you're talking about though.
|
I'm not sure if bathroom tiles have quarterround on the baseboards...
You could google it...I bet they have a picture... |
well, we have no tile in other rooms.
eh. I'm too lazy for that. googling takes so much effort! |
I just typed in quarter round, and it showed the picture right there...
Think of a long round piece of wood. (a dowell) Then make a long cut to cut it in half the long ways. Then cut that piece in half the long ways. That gives you a piece of quarter round. |
I googled it. I've seen that before, but nowhere in my house.
|
Yay!
Now you know what quarter round is. Well...what else can we talk about? |
I don't know.
did you watch the Olympics opening ceremony? |
I watched the first half of it.
I stopped watching about mid way through the part where the athletes marched in. It was interesting.... |
i loved the lighting of the olympic torch. |
I like the beginning of the ceremony and then the lighting of the torch. that part was really neat and so pretty!
|
I didn't see the lighting of the torch.
How did they do it? Most times there's a special way that they do that. |
why don't you go google it. I'm sure you can find a video of it somewhere. it's better to watch than for me to describe it right?
|
I'm lazy like you are...lol...
Did you see that Jelly said they may not use Paypal anymore? |
well fine then. don't watch it.
I didn't see that. oh well, I don't have paypal anyway so it doesn't affect me. |
I guess I'm going to have to go back to the old fashioned way of donating...
Sending in a money order! It means I have to go to the bank to get one. What a bother... |
I'll just not donate as usual.
|
Well, I'll be waiting until Paypal is fixed.
Jelly said that they prefer that people order CI's with the mail-in donations, rather than mennies. |
I see.
so, how are you today? |
I'm good!
Are you waiting for school to start? It's soon, right? Ugh...I have to go in for a mammogram tomorrow. I am so NOT looking forward to that. It HURTS! And she ordered a diagnostic one too, which means it's going to hurt even MORE! Squish, squish. |
yeah, its getting soon. *whines*
>___< uh, thanks for the info. |
lol...I don't even get a "poor baby"?
I suspect you've never had a mammogram? Cuz otherwise you'd know exactly what I was talking about and would find it easier to commiserate. Everything was good though. The radiologist didn't find any problems, so that was a relief. I worry about these things as I get older. I had 2 aunts who got breast cancer later in life. It's scary to think about. I'm getting so sick of these 100 degree days. Is it this hot in Houston too? |
nope, never had one.
my grandma had breast cancer. yeah, its pretty hot. usually pretty humid too. |
