that's not your shirt? O.o
|
No. It's actually a scarf from that winter EI we got one year.
There was a vest, but it doesn't really show at all... |
yeah, I know the items you're talking about, but it doesn't look at all like a scarf like that.
|
I know!
It's weird. I think it's the tinsel boa that's making it look that way. It's over the sides of the scarf on the neck... Maybe I should look for a different top or something... |
I'm doing fine. I'm learning Tarot reading, and I'm getting better at my Writing. Plus, 3 people have told me I should try Voice Acting.
|
I think it looks fine though, jean.
voice acting sounds fun. |
Voice acting?
Is that like doing voice-overs? Back in the old days, they would say "work on radio". |
any acting that only needs voice.
|
My brother has a really nice, deep voice.
He does a lot of acting in their local theater group. |
fun. I've never done any theater stuff myself but it's really cool.
|
Theater is SO much fun.
I wish I could have gone into it myself. But my parents discouraged me from it. |
why wouldn't your parents want you to do it?
|
I was in a city production of Kiss Me Kate back in my younger days.
I was in the chorus...got to wear the costumes and everything. It was a LOT of fun. One of the lead guys in the play was our IBM Singers director, so I never even had to try out. He just asked me if I wanted to do it, and put me in it! |
that's lucky. in elementary school they make everyone be in the plays and I loved them. I liked my speech class too.
|
I did a speech class in college.
It was OK. I'm not exactly a great public speaker. I do just OK. I do better when I'm teaching a group about something. |
well, the speech i'm talking about isn't a speaking class persay. I took one of those in college. the speech class was part of AMS (art music speech) which was a class 6th graders could take. the speech sections, we learned to mime, memorize children's books and kinda perform them, and other performance things.
|
I don't think we ever had anything like that when I was in 6th grade...
|
a lot of schools have it now. you can either take band, um....orchestra? or whatever the school calls the mixed arts class. those are the choices you have for an elective as a 6th grader and you have to take one.
|
When I was in school, we didn't really have any "electives".
Band and Chorus were available for those interested (I was in both). The others just had a study hall then. |
we had to take electives. study hall is a stupid idea anyway. it's a flat out excuse to do nothing and skip.
|
Back in our day...if you were in school, you stayed in school.
If you didn't do band or chorus, then you were in the room designated as study hall, and there is no talking or messing around. If you want to stare into space I suppose you could do that, but the teacher monitoring would probably hollar at you. |
but no one would abide by that. there's no way people weren't skipping study hall.
|
We're talking a small school.
There is no skipping classes at all. The only thing you could do is skip school entirely, and then the parents would be involved. It was a closed campus. Once you got there in the morning, your every move was pretty much regimented. You went where you were supposed to be or there would be hell to pay. |
I can't imagine it. even i have skipped classes before. there's always a closet to sleep in or something.
|
Nope.
Every teacher knew every student, and they knew where they had to be at all times. We only had 28 kids in my class, and we were the largest class. |
