try the small easy ones.

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 01:41 AM

You need a pretty large table to work a 3000 piece puzzle!

I find the 1000 piece ones to be the best manageable size.

My sister did a 5000 piece one once.
It took her a long time!

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 01:57 AM

unless the pieces are itty bitty! 5k pieces is just way too many.

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 01:59 AM

The pieces were fairly small, yet it still took her very large dining room table with all 4 extensions in it. (She can seat 14 at that table)

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 02:29 AM

sounds intense.

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 04:57 AM

Way more than I would have taken on.
Nope, 1K pieces is just fine for me!

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 05:23 AM

I'll take 500 pieces?

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 06:13 AM

That's probably more manageable in a smaller space.
I may go for 750 next time and see how that works.

Right now I'm probably about 1/3 done.

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 06:24 AM

I don't like doing 1k puzzles by myself really. I've done them with my mom in the past, but now hers are like...a blue sky over a blue lake with no clouds or other objects in the pictures.

*flops in*

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 07:01 PM

This one is a bunch of covers all overlapped of Saturday Evening Post.
Lots and lots of colors...it's fun to do.

Kirin Rosenbaum 01-04-2013 07:03 PM

That sounds neat.

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 07:04 PM

The felt rollup thingie isn't working as well as I had hoped.
The puzzle gets kind of messed up, and takes awhile to get it all straightened out.

Next puzzle I'll just use the cutting mat.

Kirin Rosenbaum 01-04-2013 07:05 PM

Or if you have a table with a table cloth do what my mom does do the puzzle under the table cloth then just cover it when you are done. It's worked for us.

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 08:48 PM

That would be a good idea, but we don't use a tablecloth unfortunately...

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 10:14 PM

hey. what's up people? still talking about puzzles?

Jeannesha 01-04-2013 11:19 PM

Yup. We get stuck in a rut....

lol...
Hubby said that we may have to move soon.
Our property taxes have been going up so much, pretty soon it will be cheaper to just live in an apartment.

The Kit-Kat Project 01-04-2013 11:46 PM

my parents need a bigger house. we have too much stuff.

TerrenaAnimula 01-05-2013 01:37 AM

We need a bigger apartment....

Jeannesha 01-05-2013 02:17 AM

The problem would be trying to downsize from this large house to a smaller apartment...

The Kit-Kat Project 01-05-2013 03:03 AM

you got too much stuff too, jean?

Jeannesha 01-05-2013 06:11 AM

Not only do we have a lot of stuff in the house, but we're also renting a storage facility bin to store even MORE stuff!

The Kit-Kat Project 01-05-2013 06:54 AM

yep, that's a lot of stuff. I'm going to end up like that.

Jeannesha 01-05-2013 04:42 PM

A lot of what's in the storage bin are from some of our past hobbies.
I have a huge rock saw in there, and a grinder. I need to get rid of them somehow cuz I can't see myself ever using them again.

Hubby has a bunch of film developing and enlarging equipment.
lol...nobody uses THAT stuff anymore!

The Kit-Kat Project 01-05-2013 07:01 PM

ebay.

hey, that stuff is fun!
