For hosting? That's probably their cheapest package though isn't it? And you are very limited. HostMonster is cheap due to all the things they give you. The majority of the stuff is basically unlimited and they almost never have down time. The only down time I had was when they emailed people saying they were scheduling maintenance and said it was going to be down. But they usually let you know well in advance.

Well, some day we're going to do a web page for ourselves...

the cheapest one of godaddy doesn't look like it's missing anything. it's unlimited except with how many domains you can have. doesn't matter to me, I'll only have one.

If I knew how to create webpages I would consider my own domain name.

I know that hubby will be looking for the one who has the most tools available to use.

He has plans for lots of stuff on the web page...

Yeah...I had a bunch of subdomains. I need those...because I like organization. XD And I can always allow someone to have their own section.

Although from what I can see of what they are calling "apps," they really have nothing to offer.

you don't need to know how though, kirin. almost anywhere you host will have templates and you just put the information into them.

I always make my own layouts...except for on a blog where I will use wordpress...and I don't know how to make wordpress layouts.

I don't really care about this website right now. I have no idea what I'll even put on it, but I need to do this for class.

You have to buy web hosting? Or can you just use a free site to create a website?
One of my friends had to create a website for her class before, they had to have their own domain name, but they could use free hosting and most of them just used google.

I would so say screw it if I had to buy a domain name for a class.

Well...considering it was for an art class and they were all art majors...it was required. The teachers at my school don't require it.

He's going to want to put in things so that you can email us through the web page I think....also so that comments can be left and stuff like that.

My stepson did a basic web page for my stepdaughter (his sister).

Hubby says that they will have to go with a different host to be able to make changes to allow people to input comments and things like that.

we're supposed to buy web hosting yes, unless we have money trouble and talk to the teacher. we're supposed to make the site live too I think by the end of the semester. we're supposed to have everything you need to be a professional artist by the end of this class. artist statement, resumes for work and exhibitions, business cards, website...probably other stuff.

I made a comment page for the sci-fi club website me and my partner made for a class a couple years back. we mostly stole the code, then modified it to work for us. we called it the captain's log.

Jean, HostMonster has things in it that you can type in what you want and it gives you what you need for the input fields. Although you could always just code it yourself...but you have to have java (or is it javascript) file in order for it to actually work.

I want to work on a website now...but I don't see the point when I can't host it because I don't have the funds to buy hosting.

it's my second least favorite class, though better since I talked to my teacher about doing writing things instead of art. oh, I forgot about how we have to enter two juried art shows by next week.

STUDENT ART SHOW! I forgot about that...when do I need to hand things in for that? *is too lazy to go look*

Finding juried art shows would be the most difficult thing I should think.
