Fireworks aren't allowed here because its condominiums. There are some going off across the lake though.

We survived the fireworks.

Now it remains to be seen whether I can survive helping hubby install the new toilet.

That sounds dangerous.

Yeah. I was saved for awhile by my sister skyping me.

But now I guess I'd better wander up there and see how I can help.

OK. My part is done.

All I had to do was lay on the ground, and guide one of the bolts through the hole on the base of the toilet as he was lowering it down.

Now he can hook it all up...

So all I'm doing today is washing clothes.

It's a good thing Lowe's was open today, or he wouldn't have been able to do the toilet.

oh what a sad day if he had to wait until tomorrow to do the toilet.

But, in his defense...he's been working on that bathroom for quite awhile.
He just wants it to be DONE.

It all started when he noticed the laundry room light fixture was full of water.
I'm pretty sure that was before Halloween. Yup. Mid-October.

crazy, but it sounds like it needed to be done.

Oh yeah, for sure.

The subfloor upstairs was all rotted out from a leak from the toilet that had evidently gone on for a long time.

Which meant the entire floor had to be re-done since we couldn't match the floor tiles anymore.

ah. what a big mess. Now I understand why it took so long to fix.

Yup. It wasn't just fixing the toilet..it was major repair.

Technically, it still won't be done, cuz it wrecked the ceiling in the laundry room.
Some of that needs to be replaced and re-texturized and re-painted.

Since it's just the laundry room, we aren't in a hurry to do that.

haha. yeah, no hurry there. Who's going to look in there and care?
