my own parents don't bother going and they don't care if I don't go when they do. It's a hassle of a drive so there's not much obligation to see people we never talk to otherwise.

Jeannesha 07-28-2014 04:36 AM

Thanks, Queenie!

I may have to take you up on that. At least for a few of them.
But I do intend to be around for some of the event anyway.

We got the dressers back to Austin, and put into the storage bin...and I didn't even wreck my back.

I'm not looking forward to next weekend. We have to move a couch, and it is REALLY heavy! I can't lift stuff like that anymore, which means hubby will try to do it himself, and will probably wreck his back.

Hiya Terr!
I love reunions. Strange, I know...

Kat Dakuu 07-28-2014 04:48 AM

oh no! You need to recruit young, spry people to do the heavy lifting for you! Who would make you do stuff like that?!

TerrenaAnimula 07-28-2014 05:13 AM

Kat: Well...it's like a 5/10 minutes drive from here...or at least the ones I end up going to are.

Jean: Hello!

Yeah....I'm just stopping in before I head to bed.

Kat Dakuu 07-28-2014 05:14 AM

why so close?! That's strange isn't it?!!

Jeannesha 07-28-2014 08:22 PM

Yeah, but we don't know too many young strong folk in Houston.
Only the old codgers! lol...

I'm sure hubby will figure something out.

Kat Dakuu 07-28-2014 08:31 PM

I'd offer to help, but then...maybe not. I'm young but I wouldn't call me strong! XD

I'm your Huckleberry, Jean. Let me know or I will just set stuff aside for you. *shrugs* It works either way.

Have the hubby try a Dolly, that should help with moving the couch, no need to hurt himself unnecessarily.

Jeannesha 07-29-2014 03:28 AM

We have both a four wheel dolly and a hand truck.

We used the dolly for the dressers, and they worked great.
But the sofa won't really go on the dolly well I think.

I told him that we need to ask the neighbor there. He always seems willing to help out. The problem is finding him at home...

Queen_Andais 07-30-2014 01:31 AM

Too bad you don't have a male dancer club near you, Jean. You could ask those guys. [;)]

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 01:42 AM

*snickers* very clever thinking, Queenie. Would be very good to ask them!

Jeannesha 07-30-2014 02:09 AM

lol...a local Chippendale's club...

I think hubby would rather do it himself!

I broke a glass corning ware lid this evening.
It went ALL OVER the floor. I'm not sure I got all the glass shards up...

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 02:10 AM

I had breaking glass. You always find the shards in random places a week later no matter how hard you tried to clean it up.

Queen_Andais 07-30-2014 02:40 AM

When I was a kid and someone broke a glass, mom or dad would joke to that person the only way to make sure you got all the glass was to walk around barefoot. Always made us chuckle as kids.

It seemed logical to ask the hunky hot guys shaking their goodies for money. At least with lifting the furniture they could do it with their clothes on and make some money.

Why is tomorrow only Wednesday? I want it to be Thursday already [squee] Although I need to write out all the various facets to my giveaway. Kat, if you get the chance, you stop by my thread during the event. Lots of opportunity for gold and laughter and games.

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 02:51 AM

I'd cry if I broke a glass when I was a kid. XD

I'll try to remember to stop by even if it's just for a little chatting.

Queen_Andais 07-30-2014 03:06 AM

We didn't cry, accidents happen from time to time. We just had to be honest and up front if we did something by accident.

I am stuck on what I should call my giveaway thread, here are the two options:
1. Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams
2. The Chocolate Coating Makes it Go Down Easier

Which do you like?

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 03:45 AM

I always got upset with myself about things like that. Still do to a lesser degree.

I like the first one. It's catchy.

Jeannesha 07-30-2014 09:22 PM

Yup.
Sure enough, hubby found a piece with his bare foot.

I don't walk around barefoot...there's a reason for that!

I like the first one too, Queenie!
It's much more romantical.

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 09:33 PM

Romantical. Lol that's a word?

Jeannesha 07-30-2014 09:46 PM

Sure!
I typed it, so it's now a word...

lol...

Do you like my hairpin combo?

Kat Dakuu 07-30-2014 10:11 PM

are you saying because you typed it, it's a word? But my spell check didn't trip up over it, so I don't think you invented it.

I really do! It looks very fancy like that.

Jeannesha 07-31-2014 02:23 AM

I'm all set for the wedding festivities now...

Kat Dakuu 07-31-2014 02:45 AM

I'm clearly not dressed for a wedding.

Queen_Andais 07-31-2014 03:23 AM

Now I feel under dressed compared to, Jean. O.o You're simply elegant and gorgeous my dear.

Then I shall name it the first choice, it does seem more appropriate for this affair.

Kat Dakuu 07-31-2014 03:53 AM

I think Queenie looks very elegant. You even have a crown!
