If I drink water, it has to have lots of ice in it.
Water is pretty boring flavor-wise. Noticed ours tasted better once we bought a filtering pitcher. For some weird reason, I started having issues with my kidneys when I'd drink sweet tea - but not coffee. Do you drink sweet tea? That was something new for me after moving to Georgia.
I always ask for unsweetened tea, and then I put Sweet n'Low in it.
I like sweeter tea, but not sweetened with sugar. |
I use stevia pretty regularly. Hubster puts so much sugar in the tea it can make your teeth hurt just smelling it! I tried encouraging him to use other sweeteners, but he's steadfastly refused.
I like sweet tea.
I'm as fine with filtered water as tap. |
I actually really liked saccharine...but then they outlawed it.
So I use Sweet n'Low instead. (the pink stuff) I actually prefer it to sugar. |
I default to Sweet N Low in restaurants.
Our tap water is pretty funky. Lots of chlorine in it. I can usually smell it when I turn it on. |
Every year, there's an algae bloom here in Austin, and our water smells really funky coming out of the tap.
They "claim" that it's harmless. |
I had a couple of friends who worked for the water company. Whenever there was an outbreak of stomach ailments and our doctors would point to the water, the water company would deny there was a problem. However, there was usually a stretch of crazy chlorine-smelling water for a while - followed by reports released weeks or months later about a bacteria/funk found in samples obtained and tested during the outbreak of stomach ailments. SO... I do not trust our water company's PR people too much!

I'm waiting for our fridge to break so I can get a new one that will have a water filter in it.
We have one of those large water dispensers.

In-home water filtration has come a long way. |
I think we still have the same fridge original to this house back in the 90s.
We do have water and ice in the door, but the model is from the early 90's, and they didn't have filters in them then.
better than our fridge. It doesn't have anything at all like that.
We really could use a new fridge. Ours is pretty basic. We are own own ice cube makers (with help from the freezer!).
yeah, we use ice trays in the freezers.
I have a tendency to mangle high-tech household items. It's a gift. Probably why we still have ye olde basic fridge.
Getting the kids ready for bed! |
Ah tech dies with me too. I don't know how my magical touch always breaks them!
The ice maker saved our marriage.
Is there a story in that or just joke?
Sounds more effective than therapy!
lol...no real story.
It's just that we used to fight all the time about who filled the ice tray last, and who put the tray back into the freezer with only one ice cube in it! This way we don't worry about it! We also required one in the RV. |
Lol. I guess an ice maker is very useful then.
Anything that keeps the peace in a marriage is totally worth the cost!
