I'm turning 20, and I dunno how to drive. Sad. D; </3
I hate being too busy. And lazy. Yeah. @[email protected];; Sad indeed. :'< </3

OH WAIT.
Technically I sorta know how to drive. I know how to accelerate and turn. Yeah. Who cares about moving backwards and parking?? 8DDD;;
*is shot*
>.>;;

Facade 01-18-2010 07:40 AM

How the turn signal operates is still a FLIPPIN' PARADOX to me. :gonk:
I've no clue how they do it... I should probably just sit in the driver's seat one day and see how the hell you flip it on!
It's just a silly little thing I'm curious about... @[email protected] lol!

I know I'm gonna be an old granny driver, once I drive. xD; IT'S GUARANTEED. I'm just a freak like that.

Rylynne 01-18-2010 08:40 AM

LOLZ. xDD;; You should try that one time then. 8DD;;

And I dunno if Imma be like that. My laziness might take over. LOLZ. xDDD;;

Facade 01-18-2010 06:10 PM

:P Most of my family can be called 'speed demons,' although really, they're not. >_> I mean, there's a difference between driving 55 and ~65-75, don't get me wrong, but most of the people in my family are great drivers nonetheless. They're in control of their vehicles. xD
My one aunt, who's the most like me, is a granny driver... Which is why I'm betting that I'll be one too. :roll: Of course, let's hope not. :gonk:
The ticket to being a slow driver is, of course, people are too bothered by your driving that they drive for you. ;)
Which I wouldn't mind. xD

Jeannesha 01-18-2010 11:32 PM

I have a "heavy foot". Since I hate to drive, I just want to get there fast, and get it over with.

I also don't know where the sides of the car are...so I just point myself down the middle of the lane and hope for the best.

(I don't think you want to be on the roads when I am)

Facade 01-18-2010 11:55 PM

Yeah, I'm kind of scared now, Jeanne. :(
ARE YOU A SPEEDY GRANNY!? :gonk:
I hope you don't drive with your knitting needles in one hand, and the steering wheel in the other... That would just be extra scary.

Yeah, so... I'm not coming to visit you any time soon unless you hire me a chauffeur to drive me everywhere during my visit. :talk2hand:

Jeannesha 01-19-2010 03:46 AM

Well, actually I'm what you call a "clutch" driver.
I clutch the steering wheel so hard my knuckles turn white.

I usually let somebody else drive.

Rylynne 01-19-2010 12:09 PM

Oh wow, Jean. o_o;;

My parents are speed demons. Like, seriously. No joke. My dad has toned down due to age, but when he was in his thirties... my GOD. Seriously. We always felt like we were in a race. Hell, if the roads were "too slow" for him due to traffic, he would drive on the sidewalk. On highways. Or whatever. 130+ kph was a norm. xDDDD;;

Thulhu 01-19-2010 10:11 PM

I used to have to warn my friends before getting in the car with my stepdad driving. I'd hold on the the handle on the inside of the door

Jeannesha 01-20-2010 01:41 AM

Well, if you were driving with me, you'd be begging to be let out.
Not because I drive so fast, but if I'm scared, then you would be too!

130KM/hr is how much in the non-metric system?

Linnea 01-20-2010 02:35 PM

sorry for the very late reply :oops:

Don't worry about it, Thul... any thread that has Facade in it tends to become surreal....

and of course you can borrow the fire hose... although maybe you forgot why you needed it in the first place, being as i am so late with this

and 130 km is about 80 mph :D

my gram just turned 81 this past year and she drives like she is in nascar... on purpose! (but i think that whole side of my dad's family drives like maniacs, even me ;))... and she also trips over things and falls a lot (i know where i get my grace from lol) and doesn't seem to get hurt... she's nuts! i wish i'd be half as spry when i'm her age!

Jeannesha 01-21-2010 12:05 AM

I hope I live that long!
I sure hope she doesn't get hurt. Falling down is bad news for the elderly.

Thulhu 01-21-2010 12:49 AM

there's a character in two episodes of Stargate SG one named Linnea though I'm not sure if the spelling is the same. They met her on a planet where they were wrongfully imprisoned and she helped them to escape. After they realized she was an extremely intelligent and very dangerous woman who created devastating diseases without remorse. The second time they found her she had unleashed a chemical on a population that she believed would restore youth but which had the side effect of destroying long-term memory. She became a young women who retained her skills but not memories and who SG-1 didn't recognize. Eventually she helped find a cure for the memory loss and when she snuck some to take herself and realized who she was she tried to kill herself to prevent her past evil self from hurting others again. In the end they re-exposed her to the original chemical so that she could forget everything and go on believing she was a nice person who'd been in some kind of accident and could use her skills to help people.
Not sure what episodes or seasons though, that show went on forever!

Linnea 01-21-2010 01:58 AM

@jeannesha: this past winter my gram slipped off a neighbors front steps and when she fell she hit her head on the truck that was parked next to the steps! she got up laughing and went on her way!! she is so crazy, she always laughs when she takes diggers lol... man... hahaha

@thulhu: wow she sounds like a really deep character and really troubled... i never saw any of the show, but it sounds like it has some really neat characters... i might have to check it out!

Jeannesha 01-21-2010 03:06 AM

Thulhu, is that a new hairstyle? I don't remember seeing it....

Ravinessa24 01-21-2010 03:58 AM

Jeannesha 01-21-2010 11:46 PM

I had to get and get the style myself!
It's so much like my real hair!

Rylynne 01-22-2010 05:25 AM

Wow, the new hairstyle is everywhere! xDD;; <3<3 It's pretty though! :'>
And apparently people here might have similar hairstyles in real life, cause Jean isn't the first person I've seen whose said that the new hair looks like their RL hair. ^^;; <3<3

Thulhu 01-22-2010 10:17 PM

it kinda looks like my hair, the bangs are about right but my hair is much longer

Jeannesha 01-23-2010 12:10 AM

XP But hey, they're for the eyes of someone who supposedly knows more than me, so I figure that using them isn't all that bad in my case. ^^;;

And I see~ =O I don't like hitching rides with people if it isn't convenient for them. :x So I only hitch rides when I know that they don't have to wait for me and if they're going in the direction. ^^;;

Haha. I took AP english, and my teacher for that class gave up a lot of weird words every week to learn and study, so I have quite an odd vocabulary sometimes, and I know enough big words. And i'll definently use them in papers where they fit and do well with the paper. I was actually reading over an old assignment that I found on my computer yesterday, and I just kept thinking that I sounded like a dork with some of those big words, despite how they did fit in and made a good point and worked, but I still always feel nerdy when I do. ><;;

Exactly! Thats how I do it, too.
I wont request rides unless I know it wont be an inconveinance, or that I absolutely have no choice.

When I went to college, I lived either on campus, or 6 blocks from campus.

Then I got my car my senior year, and I was able to take myself anywhere.
Now, I'd rather not drive, and I'd prefer to hitch rides!

My college is about a half an hour away from me at the moment. So, I require rides. And I always feel that its best to carpool anyway. Or i'll just take the bus.

I wish I could drive on my own. :x I have a car, sort of, but I just don't know how to. ^^;;

I have a car! 8D;;
...But its still not running. ><;;

I keep thinking, screw it; once I'm officially 18, I don't need a permit! :illgetu:
Blargh. Life sucks.
-hides in the back of Jeanne's van- :drool:
Let's go to Paris!

Well, once you're 18 you still have to take the written test and get a permit, but you dont have a time contraint until you can take the driving test to get your license.
When you're under 18 and get a permit, you have to wait 6 months before you are able to try for your license. But once you're 18, you can take your driving test anytime after you get your permit.

I just turned 18 in september of last year, and I only just got my permit last week. ><;; I know how to drive, but just didn't want to take the damn permit test. It sucks, and they word it all stupid.

>.>;;

Aaw. Why dont you have your parents teach you how?

I just got my permit last week, and i'm so proud of myself! 8D;;
I've been driving around with my mom a bit because we've been running errands, and I've been getting practice by being the driver. I drove on the highway for the first time the other night! 8D;; I did pretty good too, but i'm really stupid and forget to check before I merge lanes, so i'm going to have to get use to doing that, because it is REALLY dangerous not to and can definently cause a wreck, but its been ages since I had driven, and I haven't driven enough to have it imbedded in my head. I was scared to go on the highway, but my mother demanded it. ><;; I told her I wasn't too ready, but I did rather well despite the merging.

Rylynne 01-23-2010 05:16 PM

@ Su : I'd like to think I have a big enough vocabulary. XP I have to learn when to use it though, and be extra careful when I do. Since, normally I write two kinds of papers on a daily basis: reaction/research/reflection papers and news articles. I can only use big words for the former kind of written pieces. I should never use big words when writing news articles, since you're supposed to make them as easy to understand as possible for readers. I mean, you don't see newspapers using very complicated words, right? XP So yeah, I have to watch myself at all times. xDD;;

Yay then~! ^^ Seems we agree on that note. XP <3<3

Also, it's not that my parents don't want to teach me. xDD;; It's just that I rarely have the time to actually go out and learn (you're probably sick of hearing me say I'm busy, but it is the case here as well xDD). So, yeah. ^^;;

And woot, congratulations then~! :'D <3<3 All driving needs is a little bit (or a lot xDD) of practice. XP <3<3

Jeannesha 01-23-2010 11:18 PM

Man...Ry and Su....you are both such GOOD dressers! I love the avies.

Driving is one of those things that you just need to practice.
You have to hone your reaction time...so you do the right things when you don't have time to think about them.

Like driving in snow/ice. I did that for many many years. If you don't react correctly, you're in the ditch.
Well....sometimes you're in the ditch anyway...
