Way cool! Oh! I have an idea to run by you, see what you think.
For the event, instead of doing the "post a random fact about yourself" game, I was thinking of doing an hourly giveaway. Kind of like how radio stations will announce someone's name, tell them they have an hour to contact the radio and claim their prize. If the person doesn't respond in that time frame, then the gold rolls over to the next person. Doesn't that sound like fun? |

I suppose I could do that. My thought with rolling it over was, if it got up to 10k there would a be a special raffle for the gold. I highly doubt people are going to let free gold go unclaimed. The person has to respond to my ping by quoting it in their response in my giveaway thread and ping me too it within that hour.
You have to know by now how much I love giving away gold. [yes] What about 500 gold an hour instead of 250 since it could conceivably go unclaimed a few times. Or is that too much gold? |
Ooh.... for each user that doesn't claim, put it into a jackpot at the end of the event :D
Perhaps a dice roll of the top 10 biggest posters at the end? (Always seems to get people posting) 250 isn't bad. Lasts a long time and it can be done tons of times. |
I usually give away 5k to the top poster, 4k to second place, 3k to third place, 2k to the 4th place and 1k to the 5th place poster. Plus, there is the 5k for last post in the thread when the event ends.
Yeah, 250 gold is good enough. Plus, there is the wishing tree and various games. I giveaway close to 100k, if not more during the events. |

I do a raffle of items, usually costing between 10-25 gold, depending on the items being offered and the gold from that is raffled off to the people that participate in the raffle. That gold is also the gold I get from posting on my main account. All the gold for the giveaway comes from my mule....have you ever met my mule?

I might let him chat it up a little this time around, but typically the gold I gather from posting is used in the raffle gold. |

Seems others like the champagne wishes and caviar dreams (not sure if they realize that is from the show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous), so I am switching to that, but I am still doing the "As You Wish" for the wishing tree.
