And they wonder why there are so few female engineers... it's cause they don't have the impossible requirements both genders have to have [lol] that's why all engineers are really old XD

2k I think it was right? Did you want anything else? o.o *added gold to trade*

This is the place I externed at for my class. owo they trained me, so I feel I might have a 1 up on the competition. [lol] But really $14/hr is really good compared to Walgreens offering like $10 an hour. I could definitely live off of $14/hr.

Salvete - Typically goes like this: Need a job? Get experience. Want experience? Go to college. Now want a job? Still need experience but that's a nice debt you have there.

salvete 02-28-2016 01:16 AM

Well the lack of female engineers also stems from the fact that the percentage of engineering and computer science majors who are female is quite low.

$14 an hour definitely better than $10 an hour!

I'm trying to do the math right now...

$14 an hour for 8 hours a day is $112 a day
Let's say you work five days a week. That would be $5 x $112 which is $560.
And assuming you work 50 weeks a year, that is $560 x 50 = $28000

did I do the math right?

Queen_Andais 02-28-2016 05:37 AM

Interviewing doesn't stress me out, in fact I have to hold myself back from being overly enthusiastic for the position.

Poet, there is nothing else to add to the trade. I accepted the trade since the gold was in it. So when you get the chance just click accept.

And technically it would be calculated as 52 weeks a year, most companies give two weeks of paid vacation to their employees.

salvete 02-28-2016 05:41 AM

Ah okay then it would be more than that ^_^ I can recalculate

$560 a week times 52 weeks a year would come out to $29120 a year

The Wandering Poet 02-28-2016 08:20 AM

Kind of a shame really. I remember in my engineering class there was not a single girl and wishing more girls went into engineering was a common topic. We aint preventing it, they just wont join because the engineers are weird.

When calculating months I have always been taught it is 4.2 weeks per month approximate on average. But that math was close enough yeah.

Queen - Accepted [squee] thank you!

Queen_Andais 02-29-2016 02:49 PM

You're welcome, Poet.

For technicality purposes a work is based on 2080 hours of work time. Or so my mother the accountant/human resources personnel told me. [yes]

The Wandering Poet 03-01-2016 07:34 PM

2080 per year? Wow that's really convenient

Queen_Andais 03-01-2016 10:39 PM

40 hours a week times 52 weeks, 2080 hours. Not sure how or why I remember that number. Then again, there is a lot of useless information rattling around up there.

Did you need the new CI, Poet? I've got one with your name on it should ya want it.

The Wandering Poet 03-02-2016 07:40 AM

Same reason I remember 4.2 [lol] some things stick and years later they're somehow there... I don't even know where I learned that.

Oh I'll probably get it at some point, but I need to grab a spare cozy for my SO so I can bribe her onto mene. [lol]
Thanks though :)

Queen_Andais 03-02-2016 02:36 PM

I have a spare Cozy as well. [yes]

The Wandering Poet 03-03-2016 01:04 AM

Your thread said you only sell one per person [yes]

Queen_Andais 03-03-2016 02:22 PM

That needs to be updated. Things have changed since I posted that and I can afford to donate a bit more now.

The Wandering Poet 03-04-2016 03:06 AM

Oh nice. I'm hoping to get to that point someday. Then I can renew my old quest to turn my inventory into a museum [lol]

Queen_Andais 03-08-2016 05:46 PM

A few less bills and making a bit more money now, I can donate again. Not quite like I was when I was spending between a hundred to two hundred a month on CIs. Ah, the good ol' days.

The Wandering Poet 03-08-2016 06:05 PM

Wow... I wish I could do that... but alas I'm only making $14 an hour here.
Finally broke 3k gold o.o

I may consider donating again once I've paid off my student loan.

Queen_Andais 03-11-2016 03:01 PM

$14 an hour isn't terrible money. But you live in a high cost area, right?

The Wandering Poet 03-11-2016 04:18 PM

Not too high cost, granted we have the highest crime rate within like 50 miles so that doesn't help me feel any more secure. But basically if you want a place to live you have to make 3 times the cost of rent. I don't have any friends up here so I wouldn't be able to share the cost if I got one, so that doesn't leave much room for anything to happen to me like a crime or an injury

So it's more high risk than high cost.

Queen_Andais 03-23-2016 06:43 PM

Makes sense, Poet.

My older sister is moving to Colorado and it's only a 50 minute flight from where I am at, so yeah! Got a new place to visit and hang out. Yippee!

The Wandering Poet 03-24-2016 03:41 AM

Oh nice only 50 minutes? I've never been on a flight that short before o.o

Queen_Andais 03-24-2016 08:14 PM

I know! Talk about super crazy short. Just for the length of flight time I want to go now.

The Wandering Poet 03-25-2016 04:46 AM

It sounds like the wait time at the airport would be longer than the flight itself o.o

Queen_Andais 03-28-2016 04:34 PM

No doubt. And I am one of those people that likes to get the airport super early because you never really know how crazy getting through airport security will be. Some days you fly right through it and other times, well you could kill someone and hide the body before it was your turn to walk through the scanner.

The Wandering Poet 03-28-2016 05:10 PM

I know when my SO came up, right after she got in line on the way home the line completely filled up not even minutes later.

Queen_Andais 03-28-2016 07:08 PM

It's crazy how it happens sometimes. Certain airports there is hardly ever a line because they know how to process people quickly and efficiently, others, let's just say Russia's government runs more efficiently. Kind of sad.

Phoenix, that airport is a hit or miss for efficiency. Some days it's a breeze, other days you might as well bring a sleeping bag because you aren't getting anywhere fast.
Sacramento, fair to above fair for how fast they process you through. Can't honestly remember having an issue with them, ever.
Reno, unbelievably quick for processing. You get your shoes off, shit onto the conveyor belt, scanned and you're done. Fabulous.

East Coast airports, most of them are so damn big they have tram systems to help get you around.
Flying out of Boston wasn't terrible, they were pretty quick too with the scanning and irradiating you.

The Wandering Poet 03-29-2016 04:01 AM

I'm sure everyone runs more efficiently than us. Our people are horribly paranoid.

You what on the conveyor belt? [lol]

The only airport I know okay is the Atlanta one, that was huge... SeaTac is very hit and miss as well.
