You can shoot her once, I think, without her dying. Unless she's already taken some damage...
I... I killed her with a chainsaw once. I attacked her and she didn't die, so I thought that James just couldn't kill her, so I did it again to show the children that live in my home, and then it turned out that I was wrong... so very wrong. -__-;
Yeah, this was after I had hit her with a pipe and bumped into her a lot... so a shotgun shot to the chest... didn't go over so well for her.
In my defense, none of it was intentional. :gonk: The pipe was because it was my first time playing, and I like fucking around on games, and usually bashing NPCs does nothing, so I wasn't exactly expecting that to... work. And then I didn't realize running into her ACTUALLY did damage to her. I was just all "BITCH, MOVE OUT THE WAY, HERE COMES THE JAMES TRAIN! CHOO CHOO, MOTHERFUCKER" And she's all "AGH!" and I'm like "DON'T GET IN MY WAY AND THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN."
Then I turned off the light and pressed square a few times.
Bumping into her does damage? Huh.
Yeah, the only time she's ever died while I was playing was that one time with the chainsaw. Never by mistake, really, or by monsters.
I tried playing on Hard the other day, but I got killed by a Creeper, so I got offended and gave up. I mean, a bug. Really.

How the hell did you get killed by a bug?! Were you already hurt?
And, uh, I think so. In the guide I read, it said not to bump into her if you wanted the Maria ending, so I'm guessing it minorly hurts her.

You either got a glitch (mention it in the FAQ thread if you haven't already) or you got the wrench sets elsewhere and forgot.
@Cherry- Nah, it doesn't really hurt her, it just shows that you don't care about her.
And yeah, I was kinda hurt, but it was mainly that I wasn't paying attention because I was so focused on getting through a door in the dark. Also what Hammy said.
@Hammy- I hate those bugs so much! They're everywhere! I didn't even notice them when I was playing on Normal. T_T
Yeah usually you can just walk right by them and James will just wince, barely takes any health. But in hard mode they're everywhere, and your only weapon is a stick for most of the first stage if you want to get 10 stars. T_T
Wait, you can use a weapon on the creepers?! Augh, no wonder I was failing so badly. I thought you could only stomp them. xD;
I don't think I'll ever get ten stars. I read one of the how-to guides on that... the amount of damage I get alone is enough to keep me at 6 stars forever. ;~;
Yeah but like I said, they're hard to hit. You have to aim downwards and hope you get lucky... stomping is easier but puts you at higher risk for being bitten. Overall, total bullshit. DX
Urgh. And avoiding them is pretty much impossible unless you run, but then you run into a patient! :illgetu:
Damn mechanical bugs! ...Well, except for the new EIs. GAH. >W< SO FUCKING CUTE I CAN'T EVEN STAND IT.
I notice the bugs, even on Beginner. They make those irritating noises, and since I'm all jumpy when playing SH, I'm like "OH GOD OH GOD WHAT'S THAT IT'S GOING TO KILL ME OH GOD IT'S GETTING CLOSER" then this fucking giant cockroach comes up and bites my damn foot.
Must be a pretty badass cockroach considering it bit through James' women's boots.
...
I'm serious, look at his boots on one of the cut scenes that's a close up of them. They're women's boots.
Also, don't know if you guys have seen this before, but I just found this and it amused me. :lol:
Howdy - Homecoming is weird... It's for PS3. Yet Shattered Memories is for PS2. Well, maybe that makes Shattered Memories the weird one. But still. Why. :lol:
Howdy - Oh, that would have sucked!
I think the way it uses the Wii controller is way cool, and I do love my Wii and all that, but I tend to freak out when playing stressful games. Pairing that with a system that REQUIRES you to flail your arms about to get freaky things off you... I'd end up with many pulled muscles. :lol: I'm glad it's available for another system. And I'm glad it's for the PS2, since that's the highest PS that I have, but it's still strange that they went backwards. SH doesn't generally appeal to casual gamers, I don't think going back a system was necessary for them to make a sale? Who knows.
