@Hatake: Watching is usually the best way to do it. That's all I used to do before I played Silent Hill and Resident Evil. :yes: Nothing to be ashamed of.

Try youtube, Hatake. There's tons of video walkthroughs on there. The players don't talk, either, so you can just enjoy the game plot. It's how I got to the point where I felt I could play. :lol:

Don't worry Hatake. It isn't that scary. I'm the kind of person who can't fall asleep because I heard a tiny noise in the house and I'm convinced it's a burglar/murderer/rapist. But I play these games. It's fine. :lol:

But yeah, once you've played it for a while, it stops being so much scary as creepy and disturbing and amazing. :heart:

No, I just flinched at that part in the hospital where you round a corner that you can't see around and then suddenly the mannequin's there flailing at you. :gonk:

Also in the hotel when you don't have your weapons and there's water everywhere and then the mannequin's like "IMMA BLOCK YOUR PATH LOL :D"

Hahaha, I can see that. I mainly flinch at the nurses, because you don't see them at first (and I rarely have the sound on, so I don't hear them either) and then BAM! they're there and scalpel/steel pipe/shooting you and you're holding a rifle, which is a good weapon to kill them with, but it takes a really long time to shoot and you have to back up a bit, but they just follow you. T_T

Also, I get more irritated in that part than afraid. It's kinda like when you're trying to walk through someone's house and their dog is all up under your feet and then you end up falling on your face and it's really embarrassing. D;

Anna - Well, I'm a bit more flinchy than you, I guess. The unarmed part terrifies for me some reason. I'm not sure why, it's not like mannequins can do that much damage to you or anything. But I freak all the fuck out. :lol: Sometimes I'll just go back into the room I came from so the mannequin will reset. :lol:

There's the same amount of monsters, as far as I know, and you can take damage. You just don't take much, and the monsters are a lot slower to attack.

Ohh yeah, that would make sense. Yeah, I think the only level that changes the amount of monsters is Hard, and it practically doubles them and they attack so fast and for so much damage. ;_; *scarred for life*
...But dang, this really makes me want to play some SH2 now. I really hope mine isn't still borked. :<

I hate patients at the beginning of the game. :lol: James takes so damn long to swing that board, they ALWAYS spit at you before you manage to hit them. Drives me nuts.

Haha, it's even worse with the chainsaw. ;∆; I just avoid them if I can. I remember when I first played and thought melee weapons were the best. Them's were the days. *wistful sigh*

I'm not entirely sure! I think it might be the controller, but the controller works just fine with other movies. I have yet to try it with another game because I'm lazy. Basically, it scrolls to the bottom of any menu screen immediately and it won't let me choose yes (or no) when I'm prompted to try to pick up that key near the beginning of the game (and I'm assuming it's the same with the toilet), so I can't really progress in the game. ;_;
Actually, in retrospect, both of those actions are optional, aren't they? Still, the inventory thing is hella annoying.
