There we go. Thank you Anime! Sorry for being stupid.:))
|
No worries! I got your dice roll, BTW, and you can roll as many times as you want within the context of the conversation.
(I don't know what the rule is for double-posting with dice rolls? *goes to ask information desk*) |
Should be fine. It's all on you in the end, anyway.

Yay, another roll!
|
I think my next objective will be the Queen's Crown also. I wonder which of us will get there first. :P

Competition! Always spurs me on.

Yes, exact same with me.

Okay, will max out games today! Grr.
(Okay, now I really will pay attention to this dull class discussion on Nosferatu. I'm the TA, but I could totally teach this class so much better...) |
Hey, EVERYONE, LISTEN UP!
... scholar is cool. |

Today, I feel really cool. |
You class is discussing Nosferatu? The movie or just vampires in general? kind of an odd topic for class. What class is it?
|
The film. It's a summer sessions film music class, and the "professor," a grad student a few years up from me, decided to focus on sci-fi and horror. Since Nosferatu is a great example of a scored silent film (with actually a dozen different versions of the score in existence now), it was a good introduction to the genre, she though.
I wish I were teaching the class, though. Film music is my specialty, and I would definitely not be doing horror. *shudder* At some point in the coming weeks I have to watch The Shining and [/i]Silence of the Lambs[/i], which so far in my life I have avoided doing. |
The Shining isn't really so bad, I think you may actually find you quite like it. I am HUGE HUGE HUGELY against watching horror films, too... but, for some reason I just found myself one day downloading that movie and forcing myself to watch it. Movies like that, with such history... you feel kind of compelled to watch. Of course, I don't deny that it was incredibly disturbing... but interesting at the same time. It keeps you at the edge of your seat, and always wanting to know how it will develop.
Silence of the Lambs, though, I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to watch... there are some movies that I have a good feeling I can handle, but that is definitely not one of them. So, let me know how it goes... and which of the two you prefer. If you're as scared of scary movies like me, then I'll probably feel like I can trust your judgement. |
It took me almost a year to get over Sixth Sense when I was seventeen. I had to fall asleep with the light on for at least six months, reading myself to sleep so my overactive imagination wouldn't start making me see things in the dark. That happened to me a lot when I was a kid, seeing things and figures in the dark.
I'm going to make sure the husband watches both with me. I might have to take them in segments... |
Ugh, that STILL happens to me! Hence why I don't watch horrors.
It is so so SO much better when you watch them with other people. That's what I've done with most the horrors I've watched. Especially when you get to sleep in the same room as them afterwards. The thing I hate more than horror movies, though, are really really bad nightmares... ugh, I have had so many vivid, realistic ones, it's not funny... one of these days I will just get so frightened from one that the shock within the dream will actually kill me. |
Oh, I hate the nightmares you can't control, especially when it's one of those that aren't vivid and graphic, but a kind of all-encompassing mental terror.
|
I wish my quest thread attracted more chatterers....
|
Quests are difficult for that. D:
|
Yeah, that's true. Maybe I should move the raffle to my charity?
|
Yes, probably. Although I don't know what will help attract people to this thread.
|
Well, I just want the raffle to get a lot of takers -- it's not much fun if I only have you as an entrant -- much as I  you! :P
Can't reply to the RP tonight; I just drove from LA to SF, so I'm pretty tired. Plus, recording tomorrow for my husband's website. |
Lol, I totally agree.
Hmm, I'm not even too sure about the rules on these kinds of threads. Are people allowed to play word games and such? What do they normally do to keep their threads running? Other than relying on people to come in and chat, of course. Because clearly that doesn't work in everyone's situation. |
I think most people rely on chat -- and really, there aren't that many popular quest threads. The charities are pretty popular.
I think I really might move the raffle over. Scholarships doesn't get much traffic, and the raffle might increase that. More reasons to procrastinate! Am driving back down from SF on Saturday, recording having been done (and yes, I'll link a sample when my hubby's done tinkering and editing!), and will spend much of Sunday grading midterms and hanging around on Mene. |
Hooray!
I don't know what I'll be doing on Sunday, but we are supposed to get a huge tropical hurricane. Hopefully we do! I love storms with a passion. Just as long as the power doesn't go out... which it's likely to do. It's already gone out twice since I've been here -- for no reason at all! |
I love thunderstorms, too. :) We got lovely ones when I lived in Holland -- rain, snow, hail, sleet... it was great. I love it when the thunder rumbles through at sub-sonic pitches, and makes your entire body rumble with it. :squee:
