well, I only assume I'm using the right names. but who really knows? I typically don't watch it either.

I didn't either until I did it in a P.E. class.

You probably are.

I think your P.E. class was more awesome than mine. we only ever did like hurdles and a lot of sprinting race.
I hated hurdles.

yeah.

eh, we only did it one day. I don't remember doing much with the hurdles or sprinting. I always hated running in PE and it all blends together, so I don't specifically remember sprints. I do know I was afraid to properly jump hurdles. the few times I did, I could do it fine, but then I'd doubt myself and trip and fall on my face trying to jump it.

I like couldn't jump the hurdles. I think I'm too short cuz most track people are actually pretty tall, so it just didn't happen.
I liked sprints. I'm good at sprints. I can run really fast for a short distance. It's when I try to run any longer than that that I start dying.

I can jump high. I just don't trust myself to do it.
I like sprints now, but never when I had to do them. I like sprinting on my own terms.

Haha that was like me in gymnastics (which really I'm like tall for gymnanist height). I didn't trust myself to learn the flips even though I could probably have done them

I don't trust myself to do a lot of things actually. though I probably couldn't have done the flips. probably. not that I'll ever know now.

Haha yeah.
I like refused to learn them, so I'll never know if I could do them
Though I'm glad with all I did in color guard. I worked around my fear with color guard a lot. cuz if I hadn't I'd have never been able to learn a toss turn around or a blade toss on sabre

yeah, guard is definitely the more courageous thing I've done. I was originally scared of the equipment and dancing and things, but its the only time I decided to do it anyway. I think it helps that guard is a team sport. I saw other people doing it, knew I had to do it because everyone else was willing to do it. by the end, I was the first to jump at a change to do trick tosses with flag.

Yeah exactly. Guard helped me start out of my comfort zone. I kinda wonder where I'd ended up if I'd stay on senior year. If I'd have learned to throw a successful six on rifle and sabre cuz I could through fives on both.
Though I did stop doing toss turns around after I nearly gave myself a concussion with one

I never could throw a six. I might have once on a bored day. Will instigated a rifle throwing contest outside when Rachel wasn't around. We all had fun. I know I won a contest to see who could do drop spins with a rifle the longest. I won through sheer stubbornness when it was down to me and Claire. we went through the entire class period and a little after the bell. I amazed myself back then in guard and kinda miss doing that.

I could throw a six.... I couldn't catch a six.
I miss doing it a lot too. Just the having fun with the weapon. I want to start it up again, but it's like I'm almost embarassed too because I know I'd have to basically start back at basics.

I must have caught one once. I'm not sure I remember.
i keep wanting to start again too, but I realize I don't remember half the stuff I need to to look even halfway cool doing it. I can do tosses and drop spins, but it gets boring because that's all I remember how to do. I know I can dance around and look cool with a rifle anymore.

I half caught one. I remember the day. We were outside and will was egging me on. but that's it.

yeah there's that too.
I can remember just the basic stuff. though my drop spins I can still do them they are all kinda of gnarly and wobbly.

it's always will isn't it? he's the only one that could get me to try too.

really? I find I have no problem doing most basic stuff. my hands remember it. except I forgot half the basic dance moves. >.> I always was a rifle girl, not a dancer.

haha that's cuz he didn't give up after you said no.
however the learning a five on sabre and rifle I undertook on my own. especially rifle because I wanted to throw a five for my solo in Melody.

haha. I can still do tosses fine. but for whatever reason my grip isn't strong enough for drop spins so they are just wobbly.
oh dance stuff I can remember, but I was always a dancer. I did dance before color guard

will doesn't give up period.
i never thew a five on sabre, but i did it on rifle. I never liked sabre much.

that's weird. spins are super easy!
yes you did. it took forever for me to learn how to dance. I don't have the coordination to understand it until I finally manged to do it on accident.

No he didn't.
I liked both equally. It was flag I didn't like and didn't push myself too hard on it.

I know. It frustrated the crap out of me when I discovered it. but i was actually always better at tosses
haha yeah. and even though I'm clumsy, I'm really not that clumsy when dancing and I just understand it.

I like flag for doing tricks. I was never ever scared of it.

I was always good with little spins and twists with the rifle. the stuff in between the tosses.
because that makes sense. clumsy girl is clumsy, but not with dance.

I don't know if I was scared of it or just frustrated by the fact that I wasn't naturally good at it.
though really my clearest memory of flag was the day we were doing a recruitment thing and i decided to show off and did a bunch of toss turn arounds in a row before catching one on my head.... you'd think with the number of times I hurt myself showing of I'd have learned.
and then I remember the one day at band practice it was super windy and we were testing to see if tossing was even possible and did a pop toss and immediately hit the deck because they flew back at us too fast to even think about catching.

and I would cheat the stuff like that and then rocked the tosses (and rarely dropped them. I was always so dang proud of my consistency)
it makes no sense but i know several dancers who will say that

I'm scared of catching a horizontal behind my back because I managed to hit the backs of my ankles once. I swear, that is one of the worst ways to hurt yourself. I did hate flag during marching season though. damn wind!!
I remember on a windy day we thew the highest toss we could with no counteracting against the wind and watched to see how many yard lines it flew. i swear it went half the foot ball field! it was crazy.

I was always proud those moments when I caught strong. I usually did in the end, but I didn't used to be very consistent. I was so proud of myself when I did get to be.
it's crazy, but very interesting.

Oh I loved doing those. I was damn good at them too, for like no reason. I just was.
I remember that day! It was insane.
Do you remember the day that someone (i think will) lost their stopper and it flew half the football field and landing among the trombones?

I know both of the solos I ended up getting (at Fair with Child of Man on sabre, quad, and my solo for Melody), I got for consistency. It was weird. I was never the first one to learn a toss, but I was the first one to learn how to catch it solidly almost every time.
Indeed.
