I would not consider that a ballad. A ballad to me is something like my heart will go on by Celine dion.

I mean something like this. I can only explain through video not word. but I would consider something like Celine Dion what I'm talking about.

Yeah, that is closer to singer/songwriter pop to me. Like colbie caaillat and Michael buble. Or kt tunstall maybe even like Adele

When I think ballads it is Celine dion, josh groban, Amy grant

I consider that a ballad though because the most important part is the voice. though that was a more poppy example, its one of my favorites.

If I wasn't on my iPad I'd give you an Adele example next to Celine dion. I bet some would say Adele is only a ballad singer but eh

I can't remember any Adele songs though I know I've heard some. oh well.
